Great video. We have this watch and the Tudor GMT in common. And the BLNR is on my radar, but looking to get a couple of other pieces first. I have the steel bracelet for the Seamaster and although I agree with your issues with it, I don’t mind it most of the time. I never thought of getting the rubber bracelet until seeing this video. The deployant clasp is a game changer. Thanks again.
Completely agree about the tang buckle/strap combination. The deployant clasp is far easier to operate, more comfortable to wear and more attractive. There's also no chance of an accidental drop while putting the watch on - I don't think Omega should be selling the watch with the tang buckle and strap.
If you don’t mind a 3rd party bracelet you should try the Forstner Oyster bracelet for the Omega Seamaster 300. I have one on my grey dial Seamaster. Very nice taper. Very similar to Rolex oyster bracelet. Only $185.
Hey, so how did you get to end up with the white dial one. What's your thoughts on the black one since you have or had both. I am stuck between the white and black dial and cant choose lol. Cereamic material and finish on black dial looks really stunning with its reflective gloss, and i am leaning towards the black for that reason. I am a little concerned if i am missing something out here from the white dial. Can you tell me haha what made you move away from black one. I have seen many sell the white to change over to black one but you the first one doing the opposite.
Yeah, I have my blue Seamaster 300M on the OEM blue rubber deployant. Its fantastic. The deployant rubber strap came out late 2020, but couldn't find it on the website. I stumbled across someone mentioning it, called a boutique, and ordered it. Its too bad the watch can't be ordered that way. And the rubber strap that goes with the deployant looks almost exactly like the rubber strap that has the pin and buckle system, but the holes are different.
Thanks for the video, I feel exactly like you do in that the OEM bracelet hasn’t caught up with the times. And that the OEM rubber strap is super fiddly to use. It’s been hard to find options, but this video is perfect 👍🏻👍🏻
I have the white dial Tokyo 2020 version where the hands and hour markers change colour from black to blue in the light. Absolutely gorgeous effect! The bezel insert is blue. Love it!
I don't understand why the original rubber strap can't be used. Once the tang is removed can't you just slide the keepers off? Love this watch by the way great choice.
One of the keepers on the tang buckle strap is molded into the strap itself and is titanium reinforced. Also, the holes in the tang strap are rectangular. Holes in the deployant strap are round and much smaller
I agree with everything you have said about the OEM steel band for the Omega SMP 300M. I purchased the same watch in Black and experience the exact same issues. I did what you did ordered the OEM rubber strap and deployant. Works well now.
i have a leather strap with the same deployment and it works perfectly fine and it looks nice and people give me good compliments on the deployment.. it doesn't matter what material you use any band will do great.. not just rubber!!
I have bought 2 of these (one for each Seamaster) in the last 6 months and they are very much worth it. One thing I will say is that with a bigger wrist this is absolutely the way to go. Fits very comfortably on my 7.5” wrist.
I have the full Sedna on rubber & Steel/Sedna on matching bracelet SMP's. Bought the OEM dark blue alligator strap with gold clasp (£3.4k Holy F!!!) transferred the rubber with gold pin buckle to my Steel/Sedna & put the alligator strap on the full gold. Perfect daily & dress look on the two watches now.
Nope! I actually find the thickness and comfort to be the same between the two. I will say it’s a bit harder to adjust the deployant on the fly and sometimes it’s hard to dial in a more perfect fit. Usually it’s a bit tighter or looser for my wrist
Finally! I've said for ages the rubber strap needs a deployment clasp instead of a pin buckle. All that is needed now to make this watch near perfect is a redesign of the helical escape valve.
Looks absolutely amazing, some Omega stainless steel straps can be very clunky, with the rubber and deployment it’s a very elegant solution, and lighter to wear much more user-friendly, and after all these are sports watches , loving the white dial, absolutely beautiful, ❤️enjoy.
Have same watches, white dial sea master, was just in a boutique in Vegas last week and they had white rubber strap w/ deployment clasp, white strap on white dial is gorgeous, tremendous wrist presence! Just got the new GMT two tone with jubilee in new Guinness color or Dark knight, if I didn’t just get that I would have shelled out the money for that white rubber strap, probably get it for my bday this summer, great vid, thanks for sharing
I purchased the Omega Aqua Terra with an OEM rubber strap and the deployant clasp. I removed the deployant and put it on an Artem loop less sailcloth band. MUCH nicer, now!!
@@seavee2190yup, still that stupefying price here in UK. But worth it as he’s totally correct about the original tang buckle being difficult and uncomfortable to use.
You mention the end of the strap sliding out from under the strap when on the wrist (4:48). I have slender wrists so have a lot of surplus strap to yaw out from underneath. To avoid this I simply had one of the retainers inserted onto the strap and tuck the end of the strap into it to avoid this happening.
Thanks for this got the same watch but got big wrists so I was using the last keeper they bought my strap back of me so much better with deployment clasp thanks again. 👍🏴
Hello! I have the tang buckle version but I’m currently in between holes, either too tight or too loose. Will this deployment version solve my problem? How does it fit compared to the tang buckle version? Thanks!!
That deployant clasp... I see now where Omega got the idea for the deployant clasp for their mesh bracelet. The mesh uses a very similar deployant clasp system.
For someone with a smaller wrist size who likes their watches to fit snug. Is there a way to adjust this new clasp so the watch sits firmly on your wrist with little to no movement or sliding down your wrist?
I’ve been thinking about the blue deployant clasp myself. My concern is the holes and the pin. Could that ever come loose/undone? It looks to me like if it did, the watch could come off. Newbie here so forgive me if I’m way off.
I own the blue SMP and also own the OEM rubber band, and while I like the comfort and looks of the all blue vibe I find that it degrades the luxurious overall look and feel of the watch, making it just plain ordinary, so I always go back to the bracelet.
Take a look at the Staib 3mm Milanese bracelets. I’ve been enjoying it on my blue SMP and find it so luxurious it hasn’t come off in many months. Great choice on blue dial. Cheers
Great video ! What your wrist size? My is 7 inch and I don’t know which length of the strap I should choose for my new SMP summer blue model. I noticed that deployment clasp is slightly up, not in the middle of the wrist. Thanks in advance
I did not mentioned that I’m planning to order customise strap from Liger so I’m thinking what length I should choose for strap at 6 o’clock and 12 o’clock tail so the clasp will seat approximately in the middle of the back of my wrist. Thanks Liger stadard is 125/85

That Seamaster rubber is absolute trash. 300 bucks for it is shameful on Omega’s part considering it’s the worst kind of Polymer quality they could have used. Seiko with their Silicone and Rolex at least have a relatively good compound in use. That rubber strap should be worth 5 bucks max. Clasp is alright but the twin triggers on Omega’s just feel low quality in general.
Completely disagree. It’s supple and doesn’t tend to make the wrist sweat in hot weather. It’s been designed extremely well. Much more so than other similar priced rubber straps on the market.

How big and was it you fist time😂
Just don't understand the time given to Rolex when we came to see the Deployment Clasp of the Omega. Sigh.
Very slow video, didn’t even mention the wrist size, nor which length rubber you ordered, or part numbers?
both watches are way to big for your small wrist they look rediculous
Where do you buy the deplyant it’s not on their site
