I’m an MRI tech and I wear this exact model on the rubber strap everyday to work. It does not pull at all and is completely unaffected by the scanner. It’s like it was designed for me
It would be the perfect watch if it was 40mm and has an three link bracelet with taper, to me at least. The rumor mill says that such a watch is coming in the near future
Exactly! I'm wearing the 2254.50 and it's to comfortable, largely due to the slim profile. I just wish is had on the fly bracelet adjustment. If Omega were to release a "vintage" slim Seamaster with tapered bracelet and micro adjustment, I'd buy one.
I recently bought the ‘Seaweed’ version. The SMP had never really appealed before but I liked the green and thought it was time to give it a go…it’s a great watch! I am drawn to it as an everyday watch. All the things I thought I didn’t/wouldn’t like aren’t an issue. The HEV isn’t as annoying as I thought. The bracelet is much nicer than expected/youtubers make you think and the rubber strap is one of the best on the market. I also have a no date Sub but I’m favouring the SMP more often.
The Seamaster 300m should not be as polarizing as it is. It’s a serious watch that you have to handle in person to understand. I will say the movement is a beast and I have worn it in the gym, while diving, on tuna boats, and bar crawls. It can handle a lot of abuse and feels more robust and rugged than a black bay, and unlike a submariner, you don’t have to risk getting robbed on the subway. I own the blue version and a black Pelagos FXD and feel that it is the perfect 2 diver collection.
I own 3 SMP300 (green, black with Sedna gold and the new Americas Cup) - all on bracelet and rubber strap with the clasp. Great watch, super design and an icon from Omega. Love wearing them!
Both great divers that had their individual charm . Love the cleaner looks of the sub and the brand equity and value retention is absolutely more attractive
Can’t beat gold polished Roman numerals that sparkle like jewels in the sunlight. Loving the sun ray dial man that pops!AMZWATCH watches. What a beautiful subtle piece.
Yes, I have bought from MAMACOO more than once. I even bought a new Omega Speedmaster which came with the fancy box and packaging. I am thrilled with all my purchases here. I would purchase from MAMACOO again for sure.
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on AMZWATCH 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
I have both the Rolex Submariner 114060 and the Omega Seamaster 300 (White Dial). Yes, I do agree with your observations that the Submariner being more refined. However, the Seamaster has it's own Plus points - i love the laser engraved wave patterns on the white dial, it appears and disappears at different angles. Love that feature❤ The Submariner does not warrant 3 times the costs of the Seamaster. Both are icons in their own rights. If your budget permits, get both 😊
I need an updated review of the 124060 Harrison. How has the wearing experience been? Too heavy? Wears better or worse than the 16570? Is it a keeper or maybe not? Need to know!!
Harrison, this was the best comparison between an Omega Seamaster 300m and a Rolex Sub that I've seen. I currently have a sub, a 126610 LN (I prefer the date) and I've been contemplating getting a blue Seamaster 300m - I like the way it looks. Now I'm not sure, you've sowed some seeds of doubt with your great analysys. Thank you Mr Killjoy!
This is the only watch I regret selling. I got the strap version and put it on an Uncle Seiko bracelet and I enjoyed that watch more than I have ever enjoyed any Subs or my Explorer II. I put it on and I forgot about it, no need to worry, no need to baby it. With the rolexes I'm always too aware of what I have on, too careful, tend to worry a little too much and that for me kills the experience. I'm pretty sure I'll get another one in the future!!
The SMP is best on the rubber imo. The bracelet is chunky and doesn't taper at all. I think the omega is the best diver on rubber and the sub is the best diver on a bracelet.
I've been back and forth between Omega's Speedy and Seamaster 300m Diver. I went with a Speedy, but definitely would consider Seamaster when shopping for a luxury diver. My favorites are the green aka seaweed and the white dial as seen in the video. Omega has 3 great sports watches Speedy, Diver and AquaTerra. Picking up 1 out of 3 is quite a challenge :)
My favorite 2024 is the Prospex Limited Edition 1965 Recreation European Exclusive in Gradation Island Blue. The dial is stunning and the contrast when on a white strap is to die for. I will get my hands on one from AMZWATCH
Another nice review. I've just discovered your channel, great work! Though I am not a fan of the wave dial on this watch, I own a planet ocean "oreo" and it is by far my favorite watch. I've been researching vintage Omega's and hope to make one my next purchase. Thanks again, Harrison.
For the price you cannot beat the SMP 300. It is a tank. Aesthetically, the No Date Sub is perfection. I have the white SMP 300 and It is a stunning watch. I would love to pair it with a No Date Sub someday.
MRI tech here. I wear 4 metas certified watches at work 2 of which are Seamasters. I feel very little pull from the magnet. For some reason though my Speedmaster pulls a lot more but still not enough to where I cannot freely move my hand.
I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say- out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the AMZWATCH's watches are the most intriguing.
My favorite 2024 is the Prospex Limited Edition 1965 Recreation European Exclusive in Gradation Island Blue. The dial is stunning and the contrast when on a white strap is to die for. I will get my hands on one from MAMACOO
I own the white SMP300 and love it. Lots of character, a workhorse, high quality, lots of presence without being too flashy, wears very nicely. And for my sub fix I picked up a Ginault Silent Service.
ive got the blue SMP 300M Diver and absolutely love it. Easily my favorite diver ever. i stuck it on the navy bond NATO from watch gecko it is the balls.
Regarding "easier buying experience"... At least 50% of the Rolex authorized dealers that have encountered have not treated me very kindly. But every single Omega boutique I've countered has been full of passionate kind salespeople. It's not just an easier buying experience, it's a more luxurious buying experience. If going through authorized dealers, I argue that Omega is a more luxurious product.
The Seamaster is a great looking watch, have owned a few, bought them and then sold as they are just a bit big for me. Wish they did it in a 39.5/40mm. Ended up with a 114060, awesome watch but deep down prefer the Seamaster looks.
I'm really enjoying my blue SMP300m for 4.5 years now. It's in top 3 favorite watches in my collection. Still waiting for over a year with four AD's to get my first brand new Rolex. So there's that. I'd rather wear a watch than play stupid games or wait forever.
i would buy 2 of these watches... But i can not until that Helium valve goes. It's pointless & hideous... For the love of God Omega, let it go... Great review & assessment mate. Thanks.
I love both the sub and the 300m. However, the fact that the 300m has so many factory options for bracelet and colors makes it a better choice. It could be an even better Rolex contender if it were slimmer with a better bezel.
Four things kill this watch to me...(1) The He valve (2) the date complication (3) diameter (4) the thickness. Consequently, i had to choose between the Rolex sub no-date and the BB54. For some (but not all) of the reasons mentioned above, i picked the BB54.
Obviously the Rolex is a more desirable watch… hence it is almost 3 times the cost. The fact that people compare these watches “head to head” just shows how good the 300 really is. For watches in the same price range, the features of the omega and the movement stand out - that’s why I own one. That being said, when I can afford one, I’ll be getting a sub.
Cool comparison. The white dial SMP300 keeps popping into my head every now and then and this video doesn’t help 😅. I’d get it on the rubber strap though. That bracelet looks horrible imo.
I have the white dial seamaster, and it’s a lovely watch. The bracelet is very solid, and well built, but I find it too heavy. I initially wanted to get it with the rubber strap, but was advised to get the bracelet, then purchase a rubber strap. I’m looking to purchase a rubber strap with either the pin buckle version or deployment clasp, as this was initially the combination I wanted to buy. Looking to get very soon.
@ yeah that’s fine but I just don’t see myself spending more for the bracelet version and then extra for the rubber strap because I know I wouldn’t wear it. It lacks taper and that’s why it’s heavy plus I don’t like the design of it. Just my view.
I absolutely love watches, the high end watch brands are out of my budget but the MAMACOO has literally an almost duplicate of every single watch on the market . Always a great but no matter your budget.
I would like this as my daily. I can't justify wearing my Explorer40 to work. how tough is it? How will it handle, and how will it look like after scratches? I'm constantly working on bikes and stuff. I'm blue collar but off the tools for the most part. I would like a nice watch, though. or should I just get a pelagos?
As a watch enthusiast with NO budget, thank you MAMACOO for great-looking mechanical watches that I can afford! their are very clean, classy look, $150 each. I still watch videos about expensive “proper” watches, but I enjoy what I have
I want the 60th anniversary bond in blue but they’re asking $11300 CAD for it which is ridiculous and they are not readily available smh, these however are a bargain on the secondary market and great value!
I like the white dial a lot but I think the SMP300 is a watch that has just gotten worse since the Brosnan version. It's now pretty fat and bloated and that HEV is just plain silly at this point. It's 100% aesthetic and impractical
I have always wanted to like the white dial SMP300, but the shiny white dial color made it look too big. Also add in the shiny bezel, it all just put me off. I then found the SMP 300 Nekton which has a matte black dial and a titanium negative relief bezel. Problem solved!
I just got into watch collecting. I've loved watches since I was young but I never had anyone teach me or bring deeper into the world. MAMACOO brought closer to a community and hobby I always wanted to get into more and that is incredibly meaningful to me !
Just bought a brand new seamaster 300. love the watch except........the lume is really poor!!!! very difficult to read at night. The face indices are decent enough but.... the hands are barely visible at night. It was returned to Omega's Los Angeles service center and determined to be "within spec". If you do dive with your watch our wear a watch at night - this may not be your best choice. Oct. 2024
You’re not alone… I bought one in the UK last March. It’s a beautiful watch but the lume is beaten by a few of my ten year old Seiko divers. I haven’t taken it back as it’s probably the lowest interest on my list of watch functions. It’s interesting to know I’m not alone. Look at this was if I wear it in the dark nobody will know what it is and they just steal the nearest Rolex off someone’s wrist in the night..
I own both watches. Rolex Sub no date and Seamaster 300M white dial. Both the current versions. First I bought the Rolex, then the Omega. Since I bought the Omega, I didn‘t wear the Rolex. I‘ll keep the Rolex in the hope it rises in value, but I love the Omega much more then the Rolex! It‘s far more beautiful and superior to the Rolex. That‘s why I have no interest in the Rolex.
It's not superior at all the bezel action, lume and bracelet are crap . Rolex bezels are like butter and the bracelets are way better. I owned a Seamaster that was nothing but headaches. It needed a be serviced twice in 5 years. My two Submariner's have been hassle free. One is a 14060m from 2003 and only been serviced once and still runs +1 a day.
@@lonewolfemcquade8133 Nobody uses such luxury watches for diving! And when you dive, you use a dive computer, not the bezel of a watch! The bezel action issue is completely overrated. Such excuses only ever come from people who try to find 1 argument why Rolex is better than Omega. Let's talk about features that are actually relevant in the 21st century, like anti-magnetism. Omega offers 15,000 castings of magnetic resistance. At Rolex, the protection against magnetism is so weak that the manufacturer conceals how high this protection is! At a time when most of us (at least those who can afford luxury watches) hold devices with thousands of gauss in our hands all day (laptop, tablet, smartphone), the anti-magnetism of a watch is one of the most important features to keep it running accurately! More important than how the bezel sounds/feels when you turn it. Omega movements are therefore significantly better than those from Rolex! This is why Omega also has this tested by an independent Swiss measuring body (METAS). Whereas Rolex tests its watches itself and simply claims that they are good and accurate. I think it's a rumor that all your Omega watches have had to be serviced twice in 5 years. If Omega watches were so unreliable, you would read about it in the forums. There is no mention of this anywhere, and any reputable watch expert or watchmaker can confirm that Omega movements are among the best on the market and are in no way worse than those from Rolex! This is why Omega also offers service intervals of 5 years for its movements.
I tried to like the SMP300. However the clumsy bracelet, annoying HE knob, lack luster bezel (which also feels clumsy and hard to grip, even in the video it's mentioned) action and date gap between the date wheel and the dial really annoyed me. Does not help the fact it's really reflective and in the end is not what I want - a classic Submariner with all the design queues I like. And before Omega's famboys jump on me, I own the best current Omega that IMHO is worth owning over any SMP, PO or any other Omega watch really - the Speedmaster 3861 Sapphire. Beast of a watch. I really want to add another Omega, but out of the Speedmaster line - and not counting the garish Speedies, I cannot find another Omega model to fit my liking. They are either too blingy or too big. I wish Omega could bring the 165024 Seamaster back. It looks way better than current SMP.
The Omega is an actual divers watch that I have taken on many dive trips. The Rolex is a wrist ornament that needs to be babied and not taken anywhere near an actual dive live aboard. Equipment gets banged around on dives. Rolex warranty doesn't cover damage that would happen on a dive boat. Good luck replacing the Rolex as an Omega can be repaired and replaced.
All of these comments are opinion. Buy what you want & I personally see Rolex as effeminate jewelry pieces for status seeking people. I’d rather have a quality timepiece that might not scream status or “look at me” … instead offers precision & craftsmanship without the pompous sales pitches: Omega is by far the winner in that regard.
The Omega Seamaster Professional peaked with the 2255.80 in 2000, love mine on a fitted rubber strap for the summer. Everything since is fighting for second or worse. The sub is a “tool” watch, worn by tools because it’s what they heard was “it.” For Rolex I’ll stick to my 16570 and 16713 root beer. They have a sub case and handset but offer something different. I realized the Sub was not for me in the 5th row at an Elton John concert, every fat 55-65 year old guy had a sub or blusie sub on wrist with their white dress shirt cuff rolled up to show off. Vulgar and vain does not begin to describe that tasteless display.
I love the reference to the Elton John concert 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I fall into the age range, but I’m not a fat bastard in a dress white shirt. I’m the guy on a boat in shorts and T shirt, or out on my motorbike in jeans and leather jacket (it isn’t a Harley lol, but I’ve owned a few) 👍🏻👍🏻🇬🇧🇬🇧
@ Even my girl friend who is not into watches commented on the lack of variety on display and the appearance of them wearing “a uniform” of white shirt and Sub on wrist. Your experience may vary but as a word of advice don’t sit that close center stage for Elton. You see his shoes and head because of the Piano. Lesson learned.
The seamaster 300 M in white/black is just one of the best looking watches out there except for that horrid bracelet. That bracelet just looks really outdated. If you're not a 60 yr old swarthy italian restaurant owner, that bracelet just feels out of place in 2024. If they ever update the bracelet style I will 100% be purchasing one of these
owned this watch for 2 weeks before selling it. Great movement, everything else is a bit meh - especially that bezel. The design isn't the biggest issue, not the hands or the valve... it's the clunky, unrefined design. The thickness, the heavy bracelet. But the design does become an issue too.. the white wavy dial starts to feel childish and JDM boy racer.. it becomes a very niche watch in versatility and comparisons to the sub are so far apart its not even worth talking about. I hope they improve it because I would like to own one again, I ended up buying a bb58 which I kept for a year. Burt eventually sold for an explorer 1 since I have a GMT master 2 (basically a sub)
I’m an MRI tech and I wear this exact model on the rubber strap everyday to work. It does not pull at all and is completely unaffected by the scanner. It’s like it was designed for me
do you work mainly on a 3T? or 1.5T? im still hesitant to wear it inside a 3T.
@ 1.5T. I have been wearing it for almost 3 years with no issues.
I own too many watches but the reliability, legibility and ruggedness has the Omega 300m on my wrist more than any other.
It would be the perfect watch if it was 40mm and has an three link bracelet with taper, to me at least. The rumor mill says that such a watch is coming in the near future
the newer ones are nice but OMEGA needs to bring back the thinner versions from the 90s with the sword hands. 2254.50.00 2264.50.00

As a watch enthusiast with NO budget, thank you MAMACOO for great-looking mechanical watches that I can afford! their are very clean, classy look, $150 each. I still watch videos about expensive “proper” watches, but I enjoy what I have
I have a seamaster 300 but I still dream of getting a sub. I am hoping to get one next year if I can save enough.
I'm genuinely impressed with how close MAMACOO were able to replicate every aspect of this very very goofy looking classic watch.
I want the 60th anniversary bond in blue but they’re asking $11300 CAD for it which is ridiculous and they are not readily available smh, these however are a bargain on the secondary market and great value!
If they make a smaller version I’d be all over it. Such a cool design
I have both but blue and the date on the sub. Both so different. Get them both for rotation
I have the green on rubber strap
I just got into watch collecting. I've loved watches since I was young but I never had anyone teach me or bring deeper into the world. MAMACOO brought closer to a community and hobby I always wanted to get into more and that is incredibly meaningful to me !
“Marathon”. All I have to say!!!
Oct. 2024
You’re not alone…
I bought one in the UK last March.
Harrison, I own the no-date sub too and don’t regret my choice. The Seamaster’s design always seemed too gimmicky to me. Great work. Keep it up!
This is why Omega also offers service intervals of 5 years for its movements.
omega watches have always looked old to me and not in a “classy” way but I think the nice white dial sets this one apart, great video!
The Seamaster looks way better on your wrist.
I had this, loved it on a strap but I'm more of a bracelet guy, and this bracelet just wasn't it (for me)
All of these comments are opinion. Buy what you want & I personally see Rolex as effeminate jewelry pieces for status seeking people.
I’d rather have a quality timepiece that might not scream status or “look at me” … instead offers precision & craftsmanship without the pompous sales pitches: Omega is by far the winner in that regard.
How about a 2230.50?
It's the hands that ruin this watch for me because they just look stupid. Inelegant and clumsy.
Totally agree with you with regards to the hands. I like the watch but can't bring myself to get it due to the hands
One can always get both...
I love the reference to the Elton John concert 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I fall into the age range, but I’m not a fat bastard in a dress white shirt.
Wearing mine as this plays. I've the white dial and NTTD variants.
NTTD is best looking I think - I just hate the artificial premium
The seamaster 300 M in white/black is just one of the best looking watches out there except for that horrid bracelet. That bracelet just looks really outdated. If you're not a 60 yr old swarthy italian restaurant owner, that bracelet just feels out of place in 2024. If they ever update the bracelet style I will 100% be purchasing one of these
its just too big at 50mm lug to lug. and that HE escape valve is fugly.
Can’t afford it
Rolex is overrated and a statement piece on the wrist. Omega is tool like and accessible without snobby vibes. Omega is better 🎉
Of course a white watch will look bigger than a black one.
I'm sure you are an eye sore to a lot of people that enjoy watches 😂
The Submariner is a better deal dollar for dollar than the Seamaster mall watch.
Rolex bracelet is light years ahead of the Omega. It’s worth the additional cost.
I'm a big fan of the Omega PO but to me, the SMP is butt ugly.
rolex is the most overrated cringe that i can think of
The case is way too thick!
The Omega Seamaster is so much better than the BROFLEX. 😅
It's better than flexing a Glorified Swatch LOL
first
😂
I don’t like the design sorry.
you have too much time
no thanks.
Here's my question @harrisonelmore Seamaster 300m vs Aqua Terra with the Black Lacquer dial please and thank you
owned this watch for 2 weeks before selling it.
