    Thank you for this video! I was able to find the older deployment clasp (also thank you for including the part numbers) for one of my (Mitsukoshi conversion) Speedy’s placed on an OEM black alligator strap.

    Great video!
    I tried them both and decided to go with the new one. Because of the smaller length on the old one it was harder to slip the watch on my wrist.

    Thank you! I'm using a decent Hamilton deployant, but need the correct one!

    Thanks for the video. My new gen clasp has a lot of play in it when it's closed, but it appears that yours acted exactly the same.

      Mine has a lot of play when closed as well.

    I prefer the older model deployment clasp visually. I think the larger emblem on the older model is proportionally more interesting. Also, the narrower gap on the older design is more practical. However, I prefer the mix of brushed and polished finish on the newer clasp. As with anything premier, the price is outrageous. IMHO.

    On your new clasp, when you push down on the buckle (when closed), do you have a little loose play with the buckle if you tap on it. Or is yours locked down tight?

    very good review !
    Love the older clasp !
    How much with Omega leather band ?
    Place that sells original parts ?!

    • @DavidPhamChannel
      @DavidPhamChannel  5 лет назад

      The leather strap is $330 USD. From my understanding only Omega authorized dealers can see you the strap. I've seen some used ones come up on watchRecon from time to time so definitely check there.

    Thanks for the video! I will look after the older model. The Omega canvas bracelet in the video was also nice, can You mention its number?

    • @DavidPhamChannel
      @DavidPhamChannel  4 года назад

      No problem, I don't recall the reference off hand. I feature it in another video of mine. They refer to it as the omega 20mm cordura strap.

    can you advise on Omega shop for leather strap with older clasp (smaller clasp) ?

    • @DavidPhamChannel
      @DavidPhamChannel  5 лет назад

      Basically any Omega retailer can get you the strap and clasp, just need to give them the reference numbers. If there isn't one close you can order it from the Swatch Group. The price will be the same but of course you will have to pay for shipping.

      All the OEM parts i buy are from the Omega Boutique, AD or from Swatch Canada. For older items you can look at Otto Frei.

    Měl jsem starší verzi PO 2500 42mm a byl jsem zvyklý je nosit na řemínku. Nyní jsem je vyměnil za novější 8900. Rád bych je měl opět na řemenu, nejen kvůli váze. Řemínek nepoužiji, ale zajímalo by mne zdali starou sponu 94521813 budu moci použít na nový řemen RUZ005702. Nové řemínky jsou asi trochu silnější. Máte nějakou zkušenost. Díky.

      Sorry i m not able to communicate in your native language. Yes the old deployant clasp will work with new Omega OEM straps. I used my 8900 leather strap with the old style deployant for some time.

    I have a planet ocean 600m, 45.5mm, and its so damn heavy on my wrest, it weighs 230g, and I'm thinking to sell it or to change the steel bracelet to the leather strap on order to make it lighter but I'm not sure how much this will help, especially it costs about $740 the strap with the clasp, appreciate if anybody can help.

    • @DavidPhamChannel
      @DavidPhamChannel  6 лет назад +1

      The strap will be a lot lighter. The PO 8900 weights 207 grams with the bracelet, on the strap it weighs 133 grams. I would just try it out on a generic strap first, you can get decent ones for 50 bucks. If its still too heavy then you have your answer.

      Hey Eyad, I have a POLMLE that I generally wear on a rubber strap with white stitching. Much, much lighter... I realize that your post is a year old, but what did you end up doing. Did you get a strap?

  • @bushido007
    @bushido007 2 года назад +2

    doesnt look secure. if that lock fails there's also no loop being used on the band to prevent the watch from falling off the hand

    • @imranbecks
      @imranbecks Год назад

      If the springbar fails, same thing. Nothing is ever truly failsafe. Just gotta trust the system, in this case the deployant clasp. Gotta make sure the clasp is closed securely, there's that click sound when it closes shut and you're good to go. You have a higher chance of the springbar to a watch failing which is rare as well tbh, than a clasp that suddenly opens up during wear. That's why there's that safety feature where you have to push both buttons to release the clasp. Pushing one button will not release the clasp.
