I gotta be honest...it's getting hard to not take the 2wd out for some last adventure. But im getting the 4x4 dial in a bit with different mods coming in.
Nice that you made it down diablo drop in 2wd. I did it for the first time myself Thanksgiving last year. Diablo drop off wasn't too bad as it sounds. I was nervous doing it as well.
Thank you for posting videos on a 2 Wheel Drive doing these trails. It’s definitely giving me lots of ideas of trails that I can do in my 2 Wheel Drive😅😅
Hello, where did you get the map of the trails, or the map of Anza Borrego . Yesterday I went, but it was very confusing , I found some post indicating where that trail going . thanks and enjoy all this beautiful views of the canyons and the desert, right now with some flowers.
Years ago I met a couple, man and woman, who's taken their old Volvo station wagon down the drop-off. My friend and I had driven our Scouts down it and at the bottom there was this car... I don't recall if they said they were lost or what. I assume they had to keep going on out to FCW somehow. But the drop-off wasn't as rutted back in those days.
I took my 73 Datsun 2wd down that hill around 1981. No problem. It was all smooth deep sand back then. Also down the big sand drop off coming north out of Painted Gorge with 3 friends standing on the rear end to keep it down. At the Pinyon Mountain Drop off I turned around and went back. :) I don't live in San Diego anymore and I'm guessing that the quiet deserted trails we used to drive 40 years ago have now become a highway of every body who writes a check for a 4WD. Just like surfing at Windansea etc.
Gonna do this soon with my 2wd taco!. Any other tips?! Did not look too bad. I heard there’s different options to go down (easier and harder) is that true?
Just go down to lower gears and go slow and you should be fine. There's only one diablo drop off but people have made other off shoots so im not sure if that's legal or not
@@Michael_Tran you keep putting out the videos and we will keep watching. I'll be sharing it also to get you some more subs. Who knows maybe one day might not need to work just make content. Doing what you.love to do.
It was awesome we all had a great time. I showed all my friends that were there the picture my wife took of us. They follow you as well that's the reason we went to Anza.
@@hectorgutierrez9012 Nice! I was quite humble to see so many awesome people that enjoy the outdoor follow my videos haha. Im glad you guys had a good group of friends that does that. Nothing better than that in my opinion. Happy trailing bro!
Your videos are great, I’ve a 2wd grand Cherokee. Would you say my car could do this trail to? I get worried about sand and driving uphill. And rutted trails I don’t have a lot of experience so I turn around often to be safe, your channel helps me garage what I might be able to do when I’m on trails
Haha...I was wondering what that guy was talking about. I had no idea there was a jeep getting ready to go up that. Anza is awesome man...I want to explore more of the north side next time.
@@Michael_Tran Coyote Canyon to Sheep Canyon on the north side is cool. It would be interesting to see someone do the steep rocky section after the 3rd crossing in 2WD. It should be doable w/ Auto LSD egaged.
Is it possible for a stock height 2WD 2010 Nissan Murano to make it through Arroyo Seco Del Diablo and Diablo Drop-Off to get to Fish Creek, especially if it takes the smoothest and careful-est path around obstacles? I will be following the Murano in my lifted 4x4 truck as a recovery vehicle, but I want to know if the Murano can make it without my help. Thank you for your advice! Great video!
To add further, we don't want to take the 78 to get to Fish Creek (I know it's safe for 2WD cars). We want to start out at the Mud Caves and make our way to Fish Creek. Thanks!
Wow that was impressive. I have a tundra 2wd and didn’t want to chance. Went out and got a LandCruiser. Took the LandCruiser out to borrego and felt a little confident.
You’re gonna have to take the ‘21 UP Diablo next time! Also, for smaller more secluded campsites out there, try Sandstone Canyon, northwest of the drop off. Good times!
@@Michael_Tran youll be fine. My tacoma went up it in 4x4. I didnt even realize it was a named obstacle. Felt like a regular hill. Your 4x4 will make it up no problem michael!🙂
Damn i need to stop watching your videos. I have a new 2023 F-150 XL single cab.... I just put on all terrain tires and raised the front end with new Fox performance coil overs to level it.... your videos make me want to take it out on trails. But.... Damn it scares me. Hahaha
I remember wanting to off road for the first time and being super sketch at every obstacle. It just like anything...takes time and experience to build up your confident. So you just need to start small and slowly build up your confident and know your rig and it's capability as well
The difference between 2WD and 4WD is that 2WD allows you to get stuck closed to help
Glad to see you're still making 2wd content
Thanks man...still have it for now until the 4x4 is build up a bit
@@Michael_Tran did you get DCLB in your new 4wd truck again, or go with the short bed?

I've always use Gaia gps on the trail it usually pretty good about letting you know where on the trail everything is.
I’ve been waiting to see this!! Just got a locker for my 2wd gonna try this soon
Let me know how it goes...im curious of 2wd with a locker can make it up that hill...certainly open diff will have issue
What kind of locker did you get and what kind of rig you got ?? If you dnt mind me asking

That's what I've heard...I think it has gotten popular over the years and has gotten rutted from a lot of people going up it
Yes. You can. The vehicle doesn't have to be built up either. Just capable and stock.

What a great place, looks super popular !! I can see why. I really enjoyed this vid👍
It's definitely one of the more popular area to have fun in.
zomg we just did this up and down.. you are right it was much softer sand than it looks like in the videos.. going up was insane!!! 😆
Yea...I wouldn't be surprise if people get stuck in that section of the sand

Definitely a cool little obstacle...but not hard bro
I went up it by mistake didnt realize it was an obstacle until i saw anza borrego videos of it. Its an alright little obstacle =)
@@Lobo1604 Definitely can see most 4x4 with some clearance having no issue on this obstacle.
we actually did it backwards and went up the diablo drop with my 2WD 06 tundra 3/4 of the way up and pull me up :), camp by the mud caves
That area is pretty cool
There use to be a fence for that side hill “offshoot”. Hopefully they put it back up to preserve the land.
Really? didn't know that...people definitely was all over the place there trying different hills
Yea, gotta preserve all that fuckin sand....

awesome drone footage once again!

What air presure you recommend for a 265/70R16 duratrac tire for dry and dusty terrain?
around 15-20 psi
It's changed quite a bit (as do a lot of these roads over time)...watch older videos and it looks far more difficult
