Your footage, drone views with great background music and easy narrating makes your videos a pleasure to view. Thanks for sharing!!!
Thank you very much!
Love the videos. Keep em coming. I'm new to the game, this helps!!
Thanks man...will do, I have a few trail video coming up
Thanks for sharing. I’ll have to try them out
Just watching this video definitely made me realized that I haven’t scratched the surface yet being out there hahah. Awesome man thanks 😎🤘🏽
Haha...for sure, there's so many trails out there. Thanks for the support!
Dude! What a great video. Many thanks!! 🙏🏼
Hopefully it helps
Thanks for sharing. I’m gonna try these Trail later this year when it cools down.
Definitely when it's cooler
I went to Rainbow Basin last year during veterans day, after watching this video. It was awesome!!! Doing the next trail in fall.
Nice! Glad this video is helpful. Hopefully you can see more trails
Great camera work especially the drone shots!!! Very well done!! More trails in SoCal please!!
Thank you
Great video. and awesome footage and information. looking exactly for trails like this but I'm from San Diego and haven't had the time to explore up north more. thank you
I need to go south more haha, only been to Anza Borrego for some camping and some off roading. Some good trails there
This is exactly what ive been looking for, im new to off roading so i want to start easy. Great video.
Glad this video was helpful man
Exactly I love these videos as a new off roader.
Nice trails! Love the drone footage !
Thank you, not a cool video until I get the drone up haha
Thanks for sharing these places. We are from Central California and we need some different camping and wheeling destinations
No problem..glad it was helpful.
Looks like a great option for 2wd trucks to get into nature. Good work and filming bro!
Thanks man...that was what it was all about. There's a lot of trail that can be done in 2WD and have fun around SoCal
Thanks for the information and great video 😎
Thanks...hopefully it helps
If you are in San Diego area. Superstition OHv has lots of trails and sand. The SD 4 Wheelers have a weekend event in January with guided trails for first timer off-road to harder break your Jeep trails.
Do you think a 1st gen Tundra could make it ? It’s 2wd but with v8
Great video dude. I just got a new Subaru Forester Wilderness and I will definitely have to check out a few of these trails to test out the off road capabilities of my new ride.
Glad it was helpful man...these trails are all relatively easy with an AWD as well...just depend if you gonna do the off shoots
Everything in video very nice 👍
Thank you
Good video man. I would highly recommend airing down your tires even on easy trails. It makes a huge difference on the ride comfort and it is easier on your vehicle. I have tried a few trails and picked a few more to finally go and explore. Keep up the good work
How much do you recommend airing down for a 2wd for this trail? I've read 20 psi or this too low.
20 is good I usually go 18
Been going to mule canyon for many years. Definitely a cool place to explore
I agree...I gotta get out there and see more of it again
Awesome vids brother.
Thanks man!
these are some cool spots for newbies like me! I'm definitely gonna spending some money on gas!!!!!! another cool video!
Definitely check them out...it's some fun trail that not too bad in 2wd
I’m a noob myself. Let me know if you’re going to check out any of these trails. I’m down to meet.
Great video!
Thanks man
Thanks 😊 God Bless you.!
Bought 2021 4runner trd off-road, wanting to try it out. Never been off-roading, more of a hiker myself, something new to try out going trails with your car.
It's definitely a different feeling...I had a motorbike before and I miss riding it. But definitely can carry a lot more gears to have fun
Great video! Sugarpine is an easy trail but you're not gonna get all the way through to Silverwood Lake without some pinstripes. It's also where I rescued an old Toyota pickup flipped on its side.
Thank you...definitley a lot of areas with pinstripes in sugarpine. I gotta go check it out again
Tks for the information, wanted to get my AWD Rav out there
It's definitely capable
Thanks for the video, I have a bone stock Mall Princess GX 470 and I sub'd.
Thanks man...the GX 470 is beautiful.
Yes! another video! I went to my first trail because of you. (Lytle Creek). I trust you alot because i drive a sr5 2wd
Thanks man...glad you were able to see how the trail was before going. That area is pretty cool
@@Michael_Tran I was wondering if you wanna try the West Camino Cielo Trail with me? im tryna find some tacos to ride with haha.
Cool!
All excellent trails for a built jeep to a stock Suburu! ✌️
I agree...any jeep can tackle these trails
How about a stock 21 WRX? Haha. I’m trying to look at places where I can have fun with it on dirt paths.
Do you air down on these easy trails? Great videos
Awesome video. Thanx. Will be going to Joshua tree soon. Is there a road you can recommend for a older couple with no experience of off roading. Would like to see something off road. Thank you
I honestly don't recommend going alone if it's your first time off roading but old dale road before the rocky section is all just a dirt road...easy to do
Watch The Hills Have Eyes before going on any of these adventures. Never take directions from a stranger. Never speak to zombies. Be safe. :-)
SoCal is a 2wd’s dream. I wish I still had mine to prerunner it
It truly is...tons of easy trail to have fun
great videos, would be trying to do most of these, solo! btw, was that crosstrek stock?
Awesome man...glad you found this video useful..yes it was a stock Subaru Crosstrek
Thanks for the video - do you have a group online that organizes off road trips?
Incredible footage. Does your drone automatically follow you while you drive or do you have to have someone operate it for you while you are driving?
Most of the time, my wife would be driving and im flying the drone, but I also use the follow me mode in the drone as well.
Thanks for sharing these videos. Been obsessing over Tacomas and GX's for a while now. What's your mpgs overall on your on/offroad journeys?
At the moment around 15-18 mpgs
@@Michael_Tran Not bad running those big tires. Cheers!
@@williamokura9460 I think if you go with load c it will be much better, I have load e and it's overall a heavier tire.
Awesome video ! How Often do you get out these type of trails . Would love to tag along , I have a SR5 4x4 tundra stock
Thanks man...I try to go at least 2 times a month, nothing too crazy...theirs a few group on FB that does trails similar to these that I follow.
@@Michael_Tran what are those groups on facebook called , i would love to follow and join up on drive for a day , i live so close to the mountains , it would be great to join a group
@@mikemontoya8723 2WD Off Road, Off Road Rookies are 2 groups I know that will do trail run.
Do you have a lift on your truck? Great videos by the way!
yes bilstein 5100s
Nice video new subscriber.
Could you recommend a nice easy trail that would get me to a high mountain peak with a 2 Wheel Dr. truck
Thanks man...if you're in Orange County. Santiago Peak is the best with the view and easy to do.
Good video , I wonder Is your truck a 2 Wheel drive only ?
Yes, all this was done in my 2017 trd sport 2wd no locker...I now have a 2021 tacoma trd off road 4x4. Looking to do a bit more technical stuff with it.
Who is down to go , lets go guys
Did the outback to okay at Phillips Loop? I have a stock rav 4 and thinking which of these trails would be ok for me
Yea it should be fine...the arch area might have an issue with a stock rav4
I would like to know what dove springs to lake Isabella like?
like it
thanks
Those trails look like only one vehicle fit. Do each trail loop back to where you started? I see video of at least 4-8 cars in a row on the same trail. Do each one have to reverse ?🤷♂️
Just picked up a Taco TRD OFF Road, can I take it stock or would you recommend any upgrades before trying them? Or which ones would you recommend for stock.
I think any off road 4x4 should be fine on these trails...but I recommend tires as the first upgrade.
Can I take my stock 2021 subaru Forester with AT tires on these trails? I have around 8.7" ground clearance.
I think the main trail is fine...some of the offshoot you'll encounter might be a challenge but ill be fun.
how did the Subarus do in your videos? My daughter has a crosstrek, I'm not worried about me I have 2019 Ranger Fx4, but I want her to have a good time and not have to worry about it
Most of these trail it think it would be fine if you don't do the offshoots. Bring a shovel or traction board just in case, but overall it's pretty easy.
What app do you use in the beginning of the video that traces the road/trail and gives you the distance?
It's Gai gps...great for off roading and overlanding
Gaia gps
Awesome, thank you!
So the subie made it through all of Phillip loop with you guys?
yes
Hi. Thinking about buying a 4runner sr5 (I need 7 seats). Can I take it stock on these trails? I will eventually get a lift and at tires. Awesome channel!!!
Are you getting a 4x4 or 2wd?
@@Michael_Tran I want 4wd with the atrac
@@prvzmalek These trails are all pretty easy if you have 4x4 especially with atrac. My truck is only 2wd
@@Michael_Tran really? Great thanks Michael maybe I'll see you on the road. I'm pretty new can I take these myself?
@@prvzmalek Oh yea, shouldn't be an issue at all. But if you feel uneasy, bring a shovel and some traction board along just in case. Most of the time you will see people on this trail if you end up getting stuck. Most guys on the trails are easy going and willing to help.
Have you gotten to use your recovery boards? And if so how have they been? I’m looking for some at the moment.
Yea..plenty of time now. Definitely serves its purpose but not top brand like matrax...however it gotten us out of sand, snow 5 times now.
@@Michael_Tran okay thank you so much! 🙏🏽
Have you taken the dirt road from 7 Oaks Campground to Big Bear Lake?
I've been wanting to do that trail but haven't yet. Looks awesome
Have you taken the road from Ortega Hwy back towards Murrieta? you turn off Ortega Hwy near the Fire Station and go east or left if you are going from the IE, it is at the top.
I haven't done that trail as well
@@Michael_Tran It is a road not a dirt road, very narrow, lots of oak trees, very nice area to explore very few people go that way, it is about 2 or 3 hour drive if I remember correctly
Is your Tacoma 2wd? Just wondering cause I have a ford 2wd so want to know if I can do these trails with it
I did all these trails in my 2WD Tacoma...now I have a 4x4...so all my newer videos have been with my 4x4 Tacoma
Trail One go to Cracker Barrel inVictorville for breakfast and In & Out in Barstow for dinner on the way back.
We did Cracker Barrel for dinner and got breakfast food. It was so good
@@Michael_Tran I think that Cracker Barrel is the closet one to So Cal. I am probably wrong but not sure.
Hi. We are new and just picked up Subaru Outback Touring XT. Not really offroader but can this car handle these trails?
I think ill do fine on these trails
I really need some friends I can off road with. I tackle these alone sometimes and it's sketch
Find a Jeep club. Always a good idea to off-road with someone. Chit happens.
Do you need to airdown on this trails?
It would be a good idea for comfort to air down a bit.
How Do I hook up with you guys for local run?
Hello new viewer here, you mention a few times most off road vehicles with clearance can do these trails. With your experience in a Tacoma, how much more difficult would you say these trails are in a full size truck? F150, Silverado, Ram?
I think most desert trail heavy truck can get stuck more easily and sometime with forest trail there's tight section that would be an issue especially if someone is coming from the opposite direction. However you if take your time most of these trail you can navigate through.
@@Michael_Tran appreciate your thoughts. I have an F150 FX4. Im local to Lytle Creek just havent been confident in taking it in there. Only been in wranglers up there so I have been looking to find some other places to try
@@yoshiomoto173 Oh yea an FX4 should be fine on all these trail just some narrow section might cause issue but capability you should be fine.
Did you do all of these trails in 2WD?
Yes, no locker
Bro have you ever been to bald mountain in northern Cali ?
No I haven't heard about that mountain...where is it exactly?
@@Michael_Tran bear shaver lake
Would one (me) in a stock Subaru Outback make it on some of these trails? Very eager to get out on some trails in Socal!
I feel like most of these you can do. Might be kinda hard for clearance but these trails are all relatively easy if it's dry.
@@Michael_Tran what would you recommend as the best trail for one? I got a '17 so I feel I've enough clearance
@@ericadams458 I think if you want to spend a good day exploring...Old city creek rd to Alder Creek is a good one. Not too crazy main trail and it has enough trail to last you for awhile and the sceneries are pretty nice there too.
@@Michael_Tran thanks for the replies. I was thinking the Rincon Shortcut since it's near one of my friends. How do you think I'd fair on that road?
@@Michael_Tran have u done that one before?
Do you need a permit or pay a fee to go on this trails And how you go about it
I don't think so...but I haven't seen any infos on it.
2019 limited 4runner with stock tire all season tire is ok or should i get all-terrain tire
@@cjohnny8041 4x4 or 2wd?
I want to go to bee canyon in Hemet with my jeep but do I need the OHV sticker? I do t have it
No, it's not needed
Thanks bro, just subscribed 👍🏼
@@Michael_Tran can we start from from other side? Like start at San Jacinto trail then take bee canyon?
We want to go to the river crossing and stay there and it's closer from San Jacinto side right?
@@makeanaveragemanrich1284 Yea, should be only a few miles from the san Jacinto side to the water crossing...more rutted going from that side but it's doable. Thanks man...enjoy the trail. Its fun
Your truck is 2wd right?
Yes, no locker either
are these roads still?
Still open?
Kent I take my nissan fritter 2022 4x2
Nice!
Nice video. Not a big fan of showing the locations of places. I’ve been hitting the dirt for over 30 years. Invite some in person. But I never tell anyone else where. Kind of like telling someone about your fishing spot. Digging through maps, asking around and just straight out exploring is part of it.
I totally understand not sharing locations and respect people that want to do that, while this video does show locations. Most of the trails I've shown on social media are trails that are on most off roading maps and apps like all trails, onxoffroad and trailsoffroad. My reason is to help those that just got into off roading not get lost. I've had that happen to myself a few times and can get dangerous if you go down the wrong path.
video should have been titled "5+ easy off-roading trails around LA"
This looks just like offloading. Where are you "overlanding" on this continent?
Look at my 5 overlanding areas in SoCal video
Caution Sugarpine is not as easy as it used to be
Which one would you recommend for rally?
Probably the ones in the desert
Great video!
thank you
