    Thanks! I ride a big ADV bike and I'm partial to "easy" off-road =D I recommend the Carrizo National Monument, particularly Elkhorn-Simmler and Elkhorn Grade Roads. Mostly BLM land and you can dry camp all over the plain and in some of canyons. There are two official campgrounds as well. Multiple side trails too (Caliente Mountain, Hurricane, Pipeline). Spectacular blooms in the spring, though some roads get muddy. A relatively short drive from LA.
    Nearby, just west of New Cuyama is Cottonwood Canyon (11N01), which connects to Sierra Madre Ridge Road (32S13). From there you can head west to Highway 166. A few campgrounds along the way. Spectacular views.
    Head north to Lopez Lake and drive over Hi Mountain Road (deeply wooded, dark and cool) to Pozo. Head back to Carrizo Plain-Soda Lake via Pozo Road. Did all of that this past weekend, and everything was in fine shape (Hi Mountain had closed but unlocked gates at both ends; Pozo Road is mark closed on the Pozo side, but no gates). Can't say what the condition might be after the rains this week (Dec 18-21).

    Alabama Hills and Saline Rd seems like it'd be a good combo for a weekend trip.

    I’d also suggest Jawbone Canyon to Isabella Lake .. nice scenery and camping available

    • @JeepAdventures
      @JeepAdventures  Год назад +1

      That is a great suggestion. And probably could knock out 1N09. I often overlook it as the trail is in a odd place compared to other trails. Sort of by itself.

      The Piute Peak area is really spectacular desert-to-pine country. One of my favorites for a quick overnighter. Chimney Peak Road is a good one too. They got hammered hard by the storm in August, not sure how accessible all that is right now.

    Great video, you did a very great job. However, I think you made a BIG mistake not putting South Park/Central Park Loop (Panamint Valley) on the top 10, there are several trails on this vid that I would take off the list and replace it with South Park/Central Park Loop. I realize with the amount of trails there are that could potentially be on the list you cannot get 'em all on there but the trail I mentioned has to be on it. Thanks Josh, Happy Wheeling.

    • @JeepAdventures
      @JeepAdventures  Год назад +1

      Yeah, that is a great trail, and I would recommend it 100%. I agree the trail is easy, but I get a lot of people telling me it is an intermediate trail. I think because of chicken rock.
      I am personally trying to plan a trip out there this winter/spring. Been too long since I have been there. Maybe camp down at Trona Pinnacles for all those that don't want to camp the loop.
      You all up for going?

      All of them but running Sandstone to the end will likely be fine. As for Sandstone, you can run it as far as you comfortable with.

    You think a 2011 ford raptor would fit in the reward mine??

    • @JeepAdventures
      @JeepAdventures  5 месяцев назад

      That is a solid maybe. I believe the low point is around 6'6", so measure your truck and see if it will fit. This is an unofficial number as I haven't taken a tape measure to it.
      If close, you can go try, there are two spots that are low points, just get someone outside to watch.

      It is close to 6'6".

    • @JeepAdventures
      @JeepAdventures  Год назад

      So if you are going to be near or above that height, i would have a person on the outside watching the roof.
      The low spot is roughly 40 - 60 feet in.
