    I’ve lived in California my whole life and I still haven’t seen half of it. It amazes me how diverse the state is in terms of ocean, mountains, desert, woodlands, etc! We are so fortunate! I finally started exploring the desert last year and can’t wait to go back! Such a great trip!

    Nice summary video. It’s worth following the Pictograph Trail to its end at a cliff with a beautiful view south over the S2 and Agra Caliente Springs.

    Been to Font's Point many times without a four wheel drive. Just keep moving, do not stop on the sandy areas, try to stay on the hard packed areas. Getting back to the main road is even easier, since it is down hill. Just explored Galeta Meadows yesterday....loved the sculptures.

    Wow, I've never heard of this state park before, but I love the scuptlures! That dragon serpent is my favorite. It looks so spectacular in that desert environment. Great find guys! That slot canyon hike looks so cool as well. Definitely adding this park to my to-do list!

    so the only way to these hikes is if i have a 4 wheel drive?

    • @TravelingAtoZ
      @TravelingAtoZ  Год назад +1

      Some of the hikes you can get to with without 4 wheel drive and are right off the paved road. Most of them are four-wheel-drive.

      We stayed in a cute town called Jilian one night (about 45 minutes away). We boondocked out of our truck in Anza-Borrego State park for the other two nights, which is allowed all over the park.

    I am sorry for my ignorance. I see everybody carrying a backpack so my question is what do you carry inside?

    • @TravelingAtoZ
      @TravelingAtoZ  Год назад

      For a day trip or hike we have a backpack that holds our water bottles or water bladder. In the desert it get really hot and dry so definitely recommend water. We typically bring a day backpack on almost every hike that we do. I like to have my hands free and not have to carry anything. We also usually bring a light jacket, a small first aid kit, and toilet paper. Depending on the hike, we may bring a snack or lunch to enjoy.

    We’ll organized video. We rode bike on some trails. The park has a lot of variety but you have to look for it. I put a video of it on RUclips. Search RUclips with my name & the park name.

    Cahuilla is pronounced, "kah-wee-ah". They are still here and have thriving communities. Anza Borrego needs to do better at not utilizing words like "ancient" as if the people no longer exist.
