I’ve spent a lot of time in Borrego Springs. My buddy’s mom lived out there for 30 yrs, was the principle of the HS IIRC. One of my funniest off road memories was of a tow truck stuck in the sand by one of the sculptures towards Coyote Canyon. He was stuck so bad we couldn’t even winch him out, down to the frame. They had to get a loader. He was the owners son too. 😂 Besides my old shop, JBA Speed in SD, all of the off road trails and adventure is what I miss most about CA. I love you videos, thank you!
Awesome to get some quality time with your son. I took my then 13 y/o to Death Valley last year, and we had a great time. Thanks for generously sharing GPS coordinates for your favorite spots.
Home! I love the deserts and mountains in and around the entire San Diego County. My Dad used to take me off roading all the time as a kid growing up. When I got my drivers license I would continue the adventures and would buy my own 1980 Datsun 4x4 that was around 11 years old at the time and prior to my owning it, the truck had lived a very rough life. My next truck was a 1997 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 extended cab that I had bought brand new. That truck was night and day different from the first truck. Even though the truck was just your basic Tacoma 4x4 extra cab, it had crazy good off roading capabilities. In 2003, around 2 1/2 years after I got married, and my Dad, wife, kids and I all moved to Colorado, where she was from. The town is a small, predominantly agricultural area in the Northeast corner of the State, almost at the Colorado/Nebraska State borders that unfortunately have no good places to go out off roading and so as a result of that, if someone like me, who lives out here or lives in one of the surrounding areas, they and/or I have to drive at least a minimum of 2 to 2 1/2 hours just to get out to an off roading area. In 2007, I bought my second, new Tacoma. It was a 2007, Toyota Tacoma 4x4 extra cab TRD Off Road edition and it would out perform any of my previous trucks that I had in the past and also would go off roading in them too. When my kids got older I had to trade my Tacoma in on a full size truck so that my entire family could comfortably fit in the backseat of the truck. A few months ago I discovered this RUclips channel and have really started to enjoy it. The videos always bring back wonderful memories of home! I was planning on ordering what would have been my third Toyota Tacoma 4x4. This time a brand new TRD Off Road Pro. However, no dealership would sell one below MSRP and they acted as if I could not go anywhere else, other to them and that I absolutely had to only buy a 4x4 from them. As a result of that I shifted gears (no pun intended) and began researching and looking at new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon’s. In 2007, when I got hired at my job, I had to go to Cañon City, Colorado for about a month or so for training. There was a Jeep dealership right next to where I was staying at and one day I went in and looked at one and really started to like them. This was my first time seeing a Rubicon as well and I was very impressed by them and their stock, off road capabilities. After finishing training and returning home I began researching the new Jeep’s and was really starting to like them a lot. At the time I had no Jeep dealers anywhere close by to me so I knew that I would have to travel and order a Jeep at least 2 to 2 1/2 hours away. I eventually got in tough with a Jeep dealership in Cheyenne, Wyoming. They ordered my Jeep over the phone and we had a verbal agreement on the sales price. And fortunately, no deposit was ever put down on the Jeep. After it came in my salesman called me and told me that it had come in. I asked him to give me the out the door cost so my bank could finance it but that’s when the salesman upped the previously agreed upon sales price. Even after I showed him a copy of the emails and texts sent to me showing the previously agreed upon price. The salesman still wouldn’t honor his agreement and so as a result of that, I told him to pound sand and then bought my 2007 Tacoma instead. Shortly after subscribing to this channel I got the bug again and in November 2020 ordered a brand new 2021 JL Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited. It just came in this past Friday, on the 12th of February, 2021 and sometime this next week I will take delivery of it. I absolutely cannot wait to get it and already have plans to set it up to have it act as my primary off road vehicle. The first 2 add ons will be off road lights, Baja Designs Onyx 6, 50” LED light bar and then a shorter light bar for the front bumper as well as a winch. Next will be another identical light bar mounted on the back and then maybe even some smaller ones that are mounted on the sides of the roof. That way, if I need to turn night into day on some very technical terrain, I can totally do so. Or if I am volunteering on a search team for someone missing, I can illuminate a lot of things off trail. Or if a lost person is uninjured but is simply lost, they may be able to see my off road lights and hike towards them to get to rescuers and the search party. After those things get added to the Rubicon, I will then start adding things similar to the same things that are set up in many of the Jeep’s shown on this channel, for camping and staying off the grid for a certain amount of time. Back home my favorite “go to” place was at the very top of the Laguna Mountains, right before you started to drop down the mountain and head into the desert. The place at the top of the Laguna Mountains is called, “In-Ko-Pah”. Many awesome and amazing memories there.
I applaud your honesty! Hard to believe you didn’t check your propane connection,s and pan handle. No wonder You appreciate Marco so much. It’s great you are doing a shake down run. The shake down run really helps smoke out the little things to do better in future trips. Bet you remembered the T.P.

Great to see a trip in the pick up finally! More folks have pickups than Jeep’s so it’s good to see you do a trip in that. Thanks. I enjoy your channel

FYI. I've been running 20-25psi on my 35" tires and factory wheels on my 2019 Power Wagon on rough trails. Makes a huge difference and no problems. The owner manual actually mentions 15psi for deep sand.
My wife and I drove down to Salvation mountain from Saskatchewan just before the pandemic. It was a great trip. Hope you get back there soon to do some off roading. Thanks for the great content.
mounted my twin compressor in the bed of the truck and installed the air connection on the bumper. wired the compressor to a trigger controller in the hood, very clean setup
Man these videos are great, please keep making more in this style! As someone who isn't from The West, It's great to feel like I can see some of the great places I hope to travel to one day
Hi Brad. Per your compressor question, I have a 1500, not a power wagon but I mounted my ARB compressor(single) under the bed and plumbed a quick disconnect next to the license plate on the bumper. I ran the on off switch into the bed (used the plate where the bed lights go since I do not have that option). I love the setup. I suppose it has its pros and cons, such as having to duck under or lift the tailgate to plug in, but I like the that aside from the hose, my compressor takes up no additional space in the vehicle. I also like being able to have everything closed in very dusty conditions, considering I also have a tonneau cover to help keep cargo pretty clean and dry. Oh... Also, I have a regulator on my air hose so I just switch on the ARB, plug in my hose to the quick connect and two tires at a time until it shuts off at the set pressure.
Thank you Brad for all of the tips on Anza-Borrego State Park! We checked out Fonts Point and Fish Creek Wash last weekend and it was awesome!!!!! It was our first trip in our Off Grid Expedition 2.0 trailer. Good times with your help!
Brad my wife and I really enjoyed your latest video. As you know we spent many weekends in that part of the desert and all your stops was liking going down memory lane. Thanks for the great video and your shakedown trip looked like one your son will always remember. Great job Dad.
For ARB dual compressor, I have installed mine - Have a 2020 Limited Ram 2500 HD crew cab, with Carli Lift/Suspension and 37!inch tires on Method wheels - in the place of the original spare tire. My 37 inch spare is for now tied down in the bed and will be soon mounted on a dual swing arm rear bumper. Best spot I found for dual ARB compressor with enough air, accessible if needed. Next step is to have a custom plate to protect it from any impact.... so far so good... 😊
Yes a PW trail run video! Not hardcore enough for me but I watched the whole thing cz I love seeing father son bonding esp offroad such a blessing. Cheers for sharing those cool spots. Southern CA is loaded with amazing places to offroad. As for airing up your tires you can’t beat a 10-20lb power tank man!
Yes, their grill is great There's a company called Tailgate N Go. They make a cool little cooking box that can stow in the bed of a truck. Brad likely doesn't need that because he has the trailer, but on their site listed under "attachments" on page 2, they have a cool Blackstone grill available for $200 and the dimensions are 19½" X 18" X 7½" and it weighs about 25 pounds.

I mounted a full ARB Twin in the floorboard storage on my 1500 and it worked really well. Only downside was getting my kids to move their feet when I had to air up or air down.
I've seen some people put a ARB air tank under the back seat. Also have seen them put a toolbox on the back of the truck and install an ARB there as well. With a tool box it give you another place to put your off road gear. Fire extinguisher emergency gear and whatever else you need.
Looks like you had a great time! I just finished mounting my ARB twin compressor vertically behind the back seat of my '16 Power Wagon. The seat back doesn't lay down so it is tucked safely out of the way and doesn't take up any usable storage space.

I own a 2018 PW with 35" Duratracs and 20" Rims. On road i kerp the fronts around 45 psi, and 32 in the rear. I find when kept closer to factory ratings(65 psi) it wears the outsides of the tires. Off road i find 25/20 to be good depend on conditions.
@ Daniel Dalluge What is the P Metric size on those tires? I have 20s on my Ram 1500 Off Road Pkg and was wondering if there were decent off road tires in the 20" rim size.
@@stevebrown4734 35" x 12.5" in metric size 325/60R will ne close... actually 1/2 bigger give or take depending on manufactur. My rims are 20"×9.5" Black Rhino Armory rims. No crazy offset. I do have Bushwacker fender flairs. My tires ride flush with the ouside of the fender flairs. I used to own a 1500 on 20s right before the Power Wagon. You can run up to a 33x11.5 on a stock 4x4 Ram w/stock 20s . To go up to 35s you will need a lift. As far as chooses of manufacturs that offer off road tires with 20" rims. You have quite a few options. Goodyear, BFG, General, Nitto, etc etc... most of the major players.

Sure joy your trips, reminds me of the times I got to spend time with my dad camping in an old army tent. Boy that was a chore. Wish I was able to go out now. Army and life got in the way, besides my wife would never use a camping potty. I guess the closest I can get is a tent in the backyard. thanks again
Mine is under the backseat on the passenger side. I also mounted the computer head to the ARB Linx in the same spot just in front of the compressor. Works very well for me. Just FYI also, I had some problems out of the AEV steering components of the lift. Which they did not cover completely under warranty. Just FYI if your thinking of AEV for a lift. 2017 Ram 2500 less than 35,000 miles. Lift has less than 30,000 miles on it.

I fell in love with these videos no matter the vehicle used, but now that there is a Ram on the channel....I’m hooked all over again. Great job y’all, can’t wait for more awesome content 🤙🏻
Kleinn makes an on board air system for full size trucks. I believe it mounts to the frame rail, behind the bed, on the passenger side of the truck.
I was just out there exploring Anza-Borrego last Wednesday-Saturday! Have fun in Springfield!
Glad you showed Truck Haven! There's a lot of different areas there with awesome wheeling. Unfortunately it's getting a bit too busy on weekends.
I love setting up camp right at the top of Diablo’s drop off.
Good to see trail recon back on the trail. Love this video. New ram looks great.
That trailer is really pretty awesome. What a layout!
Power Wagon looks perfect. Thank you for the good safety tip as well!
Thank you!
Very, very nice video. I travel via Subaru Crosstrek, so I can't do all you do, but this video was so inspirational. Thanks.
What a fun trip. I just explored Sandstone Canyon and Fish Creek for the first time last weekend. My wife already wants to do an overnight trip out there
Awesome video again Brad !! It's so nice that you were able to go on an adventure with your son Devon .Great recovery on making dinner too , looked really good and yes you would get a lot of dad points for having my coffee ready when I got up .Take care and be safe and I'm looking forward to your next video .
Thanks so much!
Drove right past us at 5:59!
Glad to see you make some human mistakes, a lot more similar to my camp trips. 😁
Thanks to you Brad epic video so much places in the desert.
"Adapt and overcome", well said Brad.
I appreciate that!
I’ve been looking at the x1n non stop. I cannot wait for you to talk more about it. It may just push me off the edge to buy it.
Absolutely amazing video Brad! Of course I didn't expect anything less! Beautiful scenery! Rig set up is looking great!
Thanks a bunch!
Looks like you had a great time! I just finished mounting my ARB twin compressor vertically behind the back seat of my '16 Power Wagon. The seat back doesn't lay down so it is tucked safely out of the way and doesn't take up any usable storage space.
Love all the coordinates!
When we get a new camp rig or accessories we always do a HAMPING (home camping) run-through. It helps to make sure you have what you need and most importantly that things Work.
Just because something is New doesn't mean it Works out of the box! Lol
What a fantastic setup
For the Arb air compressor, maybe under the rear seat, or in the floor storage bins under the floor mat in the back seat.
A new dodge ram . I'm going to run and walk away from that truck . You do have a great channel. And some of the cooking makes me hungry .
Thanks for sharing. I’ll be following your lead next time I go to Anza.
what an awesome trip that had to be for a shakedown!
Wonderful locations and narrative! I’ve been to all these but there’s a lot of years between each visit. Gotta head back out this spring! Thanks for the reminder that I’m so close to our glorious deserts!
Thank you!
i'm all about more power wagon content!! Keep it coming!!! And bring that truck to Colorado next summer so a bunch of us power wagon owners can take you up "heart attack hill" west of Fort Collins, CO!!
go checkout mrfeenie on insta look at his post around nov 15
Forget the ARB and go with the ViAir Extreme. Works great and I bolted most of my system on the frame rails.
You didn’t stop at the JEEP sculpture, although I did catch a glimpse of it! Been in the area a couple of times and can’t wait to go back.
And what, no Skottle packed up in the trailer??!! Thanks for the video. Cheers
Hi Brad,
Great video. You showed us some awesome places.
It reminded me of a unique place in Pakistan called Jhal Magsi in the province of Baluchistan.
I’m so glad you mentioned Marco. When it comes to food time, it’s really good to see all of you together.
Take care
On the bright side, at least we all know the pans can take the abuse of an open flame 😆
Thanks for the video, Brad. I air my 2018 Ram 3500 diesel down to 18 front, 14 rear. Daily psi is 40 front, 30 rear with 37x12.50x18. Hope that helps.
Great video! I really like that you add in a little bit of the local history. I'm living vicariously through your videos, I'm trapped here in New England with everything restricted. Was excited to get home after a busy day at work to sit down and watch this video. You live in such an amazing part of the country, I'm very envious!
Right on!
i knew that it was your rig featured in patriot campers channel that they called code red
So good too meet you at the expo! Safe travels home!!
Great meeting you!
Another great video! Love the Colorado Hoodie you're wearing in the beginning! Keep them coming Brad!
Thanks! Will do!
My son and hiked down to the bottom of the grand canyon, ate lunch and hiked back up. It would have been better to have over nighted at the bottom. Whew! What a hike!
Loved the video! Thanks for sharing and inspiring -- I've gotta pack up the family and take them out there!
You should!
Beautiful video and hello from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
Watching this from the Evergreen State and getting a kick out of your shirt.
love the trip Brad. Thank you.
I wasn’t aware they don’t allow you inside salvation mountain anymore. I feel privileged to have been inside many times. Great video. I love Borrego, such a beautiful area when it’s now 120*
Thanks for posting info on Borrego Springs, I live off the 15 freeway not too far from Temecula and didn't realize how close this amazing area is!
In your new truck.. i never clicked so fast when i seen it. IT looks beautiful
