- First mods to the new 2023 Ford Raptor. In this video I'll install a K&N air filter to test if it will make the ecoboost turbos louder. Then I'll install a Boomba Racing BOV adapter. This adapter will vent the BOV to the atmosphere instead of back through the intake, making it more audible inside and outside of the truck.

Try the Whipple upgrade . Inner cooler air intake and tune night and day difference
Take the whole box out conical air filter, bov, bigger intercooler, oil separator,
The whoosh sounds cool haha. I had to replace the intercooler for a winch on my 23 Raptor and installed a Full Race intercooler and installed the Turbosmart Supersonic mechanical valve in the process.
I think the stock blow off valve bleeds off boost when not even commanded.
How’s the Turbosmart one sound?
@@customsofozgarage3522 Its not a loud and dramatic as it was on my 20 model. The 20 model was tuned by MPT so that may have had a to do with it.
Im waiting on tuning release from MPT or Cobb for this one.
Great video. Bought that BOV right now because of this. How long did it take for you to install that piece even considering the skid plate removal?
It was about 2hrs including the skid plate.

You need to buy a whole much better cold intake cause the factory scoop is weak ands up when it’s sucking air into the intake. Look at the Cobb RedLine Carbon intake with the Cobb Carbon Scoop it’s a lot stronger and doesn’t like bend like factory does. You need a intake and exhaust it won’t void the warranty unless you tune it. I got life time warranty on mine
23 fixed the intake collapse issue. Has a stiffer flange now.
Would you say that the drop in air filter really added that much more to the raptor?
I feel like it did. Just by the seat of the pants dyno though, I have no scientific data to back my claims. 🤣
How did you change the color of your speedo gauges?
The gauge cluster changes colors and design depending on what drive mode the truck is in.
maybe i missed it but you can turn the BOV on or off?
It doesn’t have an on/off switch. The BOV is electronically controlled by the engine management system. The BOV adapter just makes the blow off sound more audible than the stock configuration.

No check engine light. 8,000 miles later, still all good.

Traded my Gen 3 raptor for a new TRX. Night and day difference.
How does the TRX suspension compare to the Raptor?
@@customsofozgarage3522 very close comfort wise. Raptor is a little softer while TRX a little more firm.

The TRX is nothing close to the Raptor suspension
I miss the trx just hated the trx driveshaft clunk, but my 24 raptor is an overall better truck besides sound and power. And 17-18mpg helps compared to 10-12mpg
To be honest I think it sounds lame it takes away from how nice the truck is. I hate the BOV to atmosphere on the 3.5 EB reminds me of rice 100%. The turbo spool is a nice sound and it not as annoying as every time you let off the gas you hear the BOV. Your money your truck I wouldn't do it. My gen 3 will be in my driveway soon and no reason to make it sound like that. Boost tubes made my last 3.5 EB sound better with turbo spool.
I didn't hear it. And not everyone wants to hear it. The other day a Turbo Diesel was going down the road and I could hear his turbos three car lengths ahead of me. I thought there was something wrong with it lol.

Incorrect, the factory box flows incredibly well. I put s&b on all of my rigs accept the raptor and the bronco.
Agreed. Cold air intakes are the way to go. Even if the factory one flows well. If you want turbo noises, go CAI
