Fun fact-Bob is not a fan of snow. He grew up in Michigan. And we lived in Minnesota/Alaska/North Dakota for the first 15 years of our marriage and that's one of the reasons we moved to Arizona. LOL
I'm so happy you guys visited Vermont! I moved here 13 years ago. Ever since there isn't one day I don't feel blessed and amazed with the fall colors. Winter is pretty amazing too. Especially in December ❤ Come back soon!
We did most of 100 in Vermont about two weeks before.. the ice maple cream is called a “creamie” and my favorite had maple crystals on top. We also toured a maple farm that was THE BEST! I completely identify with your smiles! We smiled the whole way through VT/NH.. Acadia was also a very similar feeling.. we absolutely loved our fall trip. I think a caravan would be fun.. 😊
Brings back memories. My wife and I drove much of the same route in out then new 1988 Winnebago 28 foot motorhome. Took the Ben and Jerry's tour and the Stowe sights, including the Trapp Family Inn.
You guys did a lot in one episode. I remember snowboarding at Stowe and going to the Christmas store. We are all about cider donuts and hot chocolate. Wow pricy lift tickets. Hopefully you got your moneys worth. Fun stuff. Loads of people go up to Vermont and New Hampshire for family time and skiing/boarding. Man fresh cider sounds great! 👍🏼 great job! Also love the country store.
No Im from Vermont and live in Phx now. The back roads in Vermont are the best!!!! I want to buy a van at LaMesa next spring and drive there next late spring. Living vicariously through you guys❤❤❤
Thank goodness you got a maple creamy!! We had fun doing that trip in our van a few years ago. Let us know if you’re coming back this way. Convoy!!! 🚐🚐🚐🚐
Haven't yet done Vermont, but did drive to Hana with a fever (coral allergy?), a rental car and alone. Stayed two nights in a condo that hung over a black-rock beach, then drove back. So noisy I could not sleep. No maple syrup, ski slope, donuts. Definitely an edge-of-seat experience. Vicariously going along with you on your trip was more fun. ❤
I did a road trip with a couple of friends a few years ago and we traveled down Route 100. With Stowe, Ben and Jerry’s, the Vermont Country Store, apple cider doughnuts and a ton more things to see and do - we LOVED it!! Great video!
nice scenery, cute little towns. The trip shows how great it is to have a little mobile apartment to see all these things and have enough space to bring the souvenirs home.
I had to chuckle at your mention of your Canada apparel. Awhile back, I was reading an article about cultures and their clothing choices. It said Americans like to wear their vacations. 🤣🤣 So true - as I watched your video wearing my Canyonlands T-shirt. LOL
There is a catalog called ‘The Vermont Country Store’. I wonder if the sticks and bricks you were in is the same as the catalog? What a neat adventure!! A syrupy pancake ice cream sounds really, REALLY good. It shouldn’t, but it does…. OH! Add bacon pieces for a mix in! I love food! Great tour!!
Thanks for memory lane. Spent LOTS of time skiing in VT, especially Stowe and Killington. Incredibly expensive sport now. Beautiful state. Glad you did 100.
This was great! My sister lives in Vermont and I have been to a lot of the places you visited. BTW the ice cream cones you ate were called by those in Vermont as a 'creamy' and they go nuts over them all summer long! ❤❤❤❤❤️
Absolutely stunning! Was everything as clean as it appeared?! Also…you gotta stop eating donuts…every time you do, it makes me want one! I actually almost ordered from Instacart! HAHAHAHAHA!
Vermont looks gorgeous and lots of interesting stops. Excellent demonstration of the advantages of a class B van for parking and narrow roads. We have a class B van, if you guys do a caravan, that would be cool.
We did the twisty part two weeks earlier -- was fine in our 24 foot Sprinter with a two foot cargo box. I have gone every year for the past 7 years for meetings (first year we had the van) and this was the best color I remember.
Hey, we would take our 24 foot Winnebago Viva (on a Ram Pro master chassis) on that caravan if we would fit. Heck, I'd drive that far just for the donuts.
We’re definitely looking into how to make this happen… 😀 Someones shared that they did fit in their 24 foot sprinter - so it sounds like it's possible. Just a tight squeeze.
Awesome video! Count us in!!! I’ve been building our sprinter the last two months. It will definitely be on the road before then. We were planning an east coast trip next fall. Just say when!😁🚐 Changing the oil at the Mathers???? 😄
The Vermont Country Store is awesome and they have a restaurant that has really good food. Been there a few times. I'm not sure if that was the store that Bob mentioned but I think it was close to where you stopped at that bridge.
Colonial history lesson: Route 100 was actually in NEW YORK STATE. The colonial governor of MA sold land to settlers. The land was part of NY. And when NY came around and said "Sorry, you were cheated. You've got to buy it AGAIN from us." the Vermonters actually called up their militia, ceceeded and told NY they could go to hell. It was many years before this was settled, part of the reason Vermont wasn't one of the 13 colonies to sign the Declaration of Independence. That's something you don't learn in grade school, and why we have a Second Amendment. The famous Battle of Bennington actually happened six miles inside NY!
if you like falls and are going through Connecticut go to Great Falls in Falls Village (Canaan) CT magnitudes bigger than what you saw - Great Falls is called "the Niagara of New England"
The road that goes through the Smugglers' Notch isn't part of Route 100, it's part of Route 108. Also, at the end of the video, you entered Massachusetts via Route 112, which becomes Massachusetts Route 112 in Massachusetts, where you ended the video. The southern end of Route 100 is at the Massachusetts state line along with an overlap with Route 8, which continues in Massachusetts as Massachusetts Route 8.
You guys are great! I love these short trips with a goal. Have you been through the Redwoods yet? I've been through them 3 times now the last being a very bad decision to traverse them at night. Thought we'd get a motel inside the Redwoods, but none were to be had so we drove from 6pm until 9am the next day to hit a hotel. 🤦♂👍🤶🎄🎅✌🗽 P.S. Ben & Jerry's Chubby Hubby is the best, but the pretzels can get a bit soggy. If at the factory it must be fresh, and the pretzels hopefully remain crisp. Either way, LOVE Chubby Hubby!
Curious if the tow haul mode would’ve made a difference to the drive on the down grade and would’ve helped so you don’t have to ride the brakes. I’m assuming you have to be careful of the van’s height clearance because you have to be careful of trees on that Hwy 100. How long was the gondola ride….1/2 hr? That drone footage was great! Caravan would be fun! Have you been on the Million Dollar Highway in CO? Where did you guys wind up staying on this trip..please share tips.
It’s always fun to see people from Arizona see snow.
We loved it! The fall colors were amazing! We want to come back!
My favorite youtube couple. That was so much fun!
Oh wow Judy! You are so sweet!!!!❤️❤️❤️
We did most of 100 in Vermont about two weeks before.. the ice maple cream is called a “creamie” and my favorite had maple crystals on top. We also toured a maple farm that was THE BEST! That sounds like the perfect trip! 😊
Brings back memories. My wife and I drove much of the same route in out then new 1988 Winnebago 28 foot motorhome. Took the Ben and Jerry's tour and the Stowe sights, including the Trapp Family Inn.
Sounds like an awesome trip!
We are in for Vermont 25! A caraVAN would rock!

Yes! So fun!

Thanks so much!
Yay. Cheese. I’m Dutch. I’m a cheese head! thanks for taking us on a tour of Vermont
You betcha! Vermont's got some amazing cheese!
Really enjoying how driving a van is so extreme on paved roads and clearly marked signs. So, sappy even for Vermont. Good Job Bob, Goooood Job!
😂
Thank you guys for sharing our beautiful state with your viewers.
Thank you! We had the best time!
No Im from Vermont and live in Phx now. The back roads in Vermont are the best!!!! I want to buy a van at LaMesa next spring and drive there next late spring. Living vicariously through you guys❤❤❤

Another great video ... just wish we'd have had the chance to say hi as you passed through Maryland! Safe Travels!
Aw! That would have been fun! 😊
I had to chuckle at your mention of your Canada apparel. Awhile back, I was reading an article about cultures and their clothing choices. It said Americans like to wear their vacations. 🤣🤣 So true - as I watched your video wearing my Canyonlands T-shirt. LOL

Imagine going up the mountain at Stowe on an open chairlift instead of a closed gondola.
I can’t even imagine 😱 -Hillary
You were on the “Tummy Trail”!
omg! Ben and Jerry!!🍨🍦
So fun!🤩
We drove route 100, it’s very primitive in places. Did the Ben and Jerry’s tour also. 😊
That’s awesome! It’s such a beautiful route! 😊
Thanks for memory lane. Spent LOTS of time skiing in VT, especially Stowe and Killington. Incredibly expensive sport now. Beautiful state. Glad you did 100.

2025 caravan! Great idea!
Let’s do it!
You missed the ben and Jerry's flavor cemetery! 😢
Oh bummer! We totally wanted to see it!
I'm afraid of heights but never had any issues riding chairlifts for skiing.
That's awesome. I'd be afraid to ski.

I get their catalog ( Vermont Country Store). Love looking at all the stuff.

Enjoying the east coast series. That noise at 35:49 made me giggle and cannot figure out what it was... Anyways, enjoying all the videos.
Sign us up for the caravan.

I don't know what route it's on but there is a bridge that's called The Floating Bridge in Vermont
Oh fun!
Hey you guys, you are always on a food tour somewhere😅
😂😂😂 so true!

We would love this drive. Our RV is 24.3 think we would make it?
It might be a tight squeeze, but someone left a comment saying they made it in a 24 Ft. Sprinter Van. So sounds like it's possible.

Let's GO!!! We are starting to look into if it would be possible. Would be so fun!
@it would be a blast!
What time of year? Looks like a lot of the color is gone. Thx.
End of October.

Oh yeah!

Let's GO!!! We are starting to look into if it would be possible :)
