People always seem to skip over the fact she liked a tweet making fun of Pinoe getting injured...I wouldn't want a teammate who's celebrates when her teammates get injured
Yeah that pretty clearly violates any team's code of conduct. Although I guess you could argue she was a U20 Nat team player at the time, but she was still playing for the crest so that doesn't persuade me all that much.
@@Steve-606 To make those comments about any athlete, teammate/opponent, active /retired, is innapropriate at best, and definitely deserved some time of penalty. If, hypothetically, NWSL's Naomi Girma applauded the injury of the WNBA's A'Ja Wilson, then that would be a problem as well.
I completely agree with you. Enjoying the pain of a team mate and leader. Personally, I think the talent pool is deep enough to move forward. There are other players who want to shoot their shot with respect for all.
i think it’s also important to note that korbin not only liked posts that were homophobic, she liked a post that was extremely hateful to megan rapinoe. it wasn’t simply her beliefs that she expressed, it was her hatred for lgbtq+, and specifically targeted at a previous national team player. it’s one thing to have beliefs… but this was hatred. Korbin should not be on this team.
Megan trolled Christianity saying God doesn't exist because of what happened to her. So the post that Korbin liked, was a response to Megan's post. So she can troll Christianity/theism when there are Christians on her team, but she can't take a joke back? Soft.
I think Korbin’s apology was the hardest thing for me to get past. It felt like she was avoiding what she was actually apologizing for. She never apologized for her actions. She apologized IF her actions hurt someone. That’s not a real apology
@@AngelaHaneyit's not a time length thing, she just needs to be clear that she doesn't support conversion therapy and won't take joy in fellow players' injuries because they're openly gay or non-Christian. She hasn't actually addressed what she supported.
I feel so represented by Tobin as a queer woman in a Christian family. She has helped me to validate myself and be comfortable on my own skin, and embrace my identity. It has been a tough road, I wish my family would accept my orientation, but maybe they never will, and maybe that's ok. I don't need to change for them.
I'm also a queer christian, raised in church. At first my mother had some issues, but now she sees there are other colors in life. You don't need nor have to change who you are, God loves us no matter what. Give your family some time and maybe they will also see other colors in life.
Big Fish!!! She seems so wonderful - she's the exact kind of person I love to see represent the US on and off the pitch. Can't wait to watch her play again
Agreed. I like the way she thinks. Can you imagine when she comes back? But we have so many potential players that can score, some of these forwards have to move to the mid or defense. Even. You look at Croix Bethune and she's looking phenomenal too. Swanson, Smith, Shaw can all score. And right now you have Horan and Lavelle at the mid. Then consider how Yohannes played and even Macario. Gonna be tough to pick 23 for the next Cup. My hope is everyone stays healthy .Hayes has lots of talent.
On a brighter note.... Mia is such a bright light! I cannot wait to watch her comeback. I have no doubt she'll be a bright light for the USWNT for many years to come. :)
It's because I'm a Christian that I wholeheartedly loved Megan Rapinoe's joke during the post-game presser of her last NWSL match. "Bad Karma," which Korbin Albert alluded to, is an anti-Biblical concept on its face. Megan Rapinoe didn't get injured for not (publicly) indentifying as a Christian, being queer, being anti-Trump, or being liberal. Megan Rapinoe got injured because Megan Rapinoe played soccer for 30+ years.
Yeah I thought Korbin should have been left off the team as well as a straight dude too much baggage probably would take longer than Emma thinks to fix this if it's even possible...
It is so impactful to see you honoring your freedom of speech with thoughtful honesty and integrity when unpacking complex issues. Thank you for the so many layers of all you do as Badass™️ humans through and through.
Thank you for discussing this issue with such consideration but also such vulnerability. I think you guys did a really good job of holding space for the fact that we’re all human, but also not taking the subject lightly and being forthcoming in your opinions. Happy pride, thank you for all that you do.
i love mia and i love how you guys help elevate her platform. i never see her on other social medias and ive always wanted to know her story from the draft, her move to liga mx, the disrespect she got from vlatko, and her rise to chelsea and NT. she deserves to have her story heard and this is why!! she's such an incredible human and soccer player!! kudos reinc! really great episode, and banter is top tier too!!
Such a good episode, maybe my favorite so far especially as a queer person who was raised in a religion, it’s a complex topic but I love that we’re talking about it. Mia has such an incredible energy and that conversation could’ve gone on forever and I would love every second of it. I love that the arc of the episode was what the future of the uswnt will look like, and if Mia is leading the way then I have hope.
As for your choice of guests having Mia on the show is spot on. unfortunately she got injured right when she was on her way to show everyone what she can do.
In terms of Korbin, I came to the opinion that she, like all of us, is a product of the environment in which she was raised, which in her case is far-right evangelical. What she fails to appreciate is, had she been born 40+ years ago, she would be lacing up her apron strings and not her boots. That progress wasn't accidental, it was made on the backs of couragous women, some of which were queer. This is an important lesson she should be made to realize. Secondly, we need to afford her some grace, time and space, to either grow from this, or choose not to. A motto I always fallback to is this..."I would rather a true enemy than a false friend". At the very least, knowing there is an enemy in the camp allows you to defend yourself and help them to see the err in their ways.
we don’t need to afford her shit. the things she believes gets people killed every day full stop and she doesn’t seem to actually be sorry for anything she’s done. also, not everyone sees “the error of their ways” because they don’t think they are errors and a lot of people just don’t care.
Another great episode! Enjoyed the discussions throughout . I appreciate the producer’s feedback about longer answers to the community questions lol. Also, thank you Ally for sponsoring them and your continued support in women’s sports!
Recap show is my favorite sports show! I love the guests they invited and their conversations are very inspiring. Love the attitude from Fish on soccer, having Fun! Wish all of you speedy recovery and shine on the field.
This was another great episode. Appreciate you discussing the difficult topics and not shying away. And as always, the community questions are amazing!
I absolutely adored this conversation. This is my first time watching and I laughed and cried. Thank you and I cant' wait to see you all back on the pitch when and if the time is right. Much love and respect.
Mia seems cool as hell and the kind of teammate you would want to have. Also very mature for her age. Will be rooting for her to get back out there. Good episode! Would love to see Alyssa Naeher on this show sometime.
There's a video somewhere here on RUclips of a Chelsea game where Mia scored a really sweet goal. This was after Sam Kerr's injury and before Mia's. One of the Brit fans posted a comment/question about Mia's goal that really resonated with me: "Who's Sam Kerr's stunt double?" That's high praise to categorize a young player right up there with one of the best in the game. Well deserved - hurry back to the pitch, Mia!
From a sporting standpoint, I love all those discussions that are related to the sport that I love, but when it comes to something outside of that, I just try not to be hypocritical or lie, because with regard to the achievements that the national team did before that, it made the region in which I live give importance to women’s football, so that we can, within four years, achieve that. We are achieving what we have been unable to achieve for years, and this is largely due to the efforts of the US women’s soccer team, and I will remain grateful to you for the rest of my life.
Can't wait to see the big fish play. I get real good vibes from her. It's so good to see someone so young who actually wants to shoot for their happiness. Happy people 💓 are fun to be around, especially if their of a sound mind.❤😂😂😂
My biggest question about the identity of the USWNT is how it approach changed under Vlatko, but also with the type of players emphasized. In the past, the US and other good teams like the UK, Netherlands, etc had strong inside players in the box: Abby wambach, Carli Lloyd, Alex Morgan, Ellen White, Viv Mediema... Offenses revolved around an inside-out approach where scoring could occur more frequently wth crosses into the box to those high-scoring players. Under Vlatko, crosses were less emphasized and the identity of the team seemed to be more about outside-in style of player with the offense more so revolving around wingers trying to take on seemingly the entire defense. Instead of Tobin, Press, Rapinoe feeding Morgan/Lloyd more than looking to take on the world, NOW it seems like it is more about Rodman, Smith, Swanson, Macario trying to dribble through people to score. ..which means scoring has decreased and it is more about individual play ... scoring mainly seems to come from breakdowns versus real run of play. And I really wish people would do a real analysis of players rather than hedging because they are "friends".... sometimes it seems some key players are slow to pass, slow to get the feet off their ball, slow... and that leads to missed opportunities?
I work for a peacemaking nonprofit. Do you know where I can learn more about Oops, Ouch, Educate? I love the idea so much! And I Iove that Christen said we all deserve the chance to learn and grow. Thanks!
I thought Korbin should have sat out a camp, but i did like that she participated in the pride games. In my view, true homophobes and transphobes aint wearing a pride jersey. I think it is worth something that she still participated, even with some of her past views.
The community questions were an absolute highlight, and the discussion is such an important thing to talk about. The queer community has supported the team and the league from the beginning, and the team in return seemed to embrace that support. But what KA did crossed a line, and she should be dropped from the team for her post celebrating harm on an out queer player. Auctioning off her Pride signed jersey is just awful. The federation only seems happy to make money from the community, not actually support them with actions.
@@Drue-fi5bd she posted celebrating an out players injury and calling it gods plan. I think she ruined her own life. And the goal of the federation should be to build a successful team. That takes trust in the locker room and on the field. Knowing that someone finds who you are disgusting would not aide this. Finally there are plenty of Christians on the team, and queer Christians who don’t behave like this and fit in. Inclusivity goes both ways!
@@shulamccann2797 yes it does go both ways so casting someone out because they might not like who you sleep with is just stupid. They are PROFESSIONAL soccer players, they gets paid to play soccer and win, not to talk about who they sleep with . And if you actually have watched the games you could see the interaction between the team and Korbin and they seem pretty good.

Korbin should NOT be given a free pass. THIS is the situation she must learn to grow to overcome. Either embrace or get lost. The team should not be forced to suffer through the second strike or the third strike. If you don't like DEI, you're out. I thank you both for speaking on this subject today because i've watched all the soccer shows and game broadcasters dance around uncomfortably avoiding speaking the f*ck out about it. And as a white, nearly 60-year old man who grew up wanting "to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony", this current obsession with division in America is absolutely killing our heart. It is very clearly NOT what our National Soccer Teams or our club leagues are about, and in the name of tough love, it should be met with zero tolerance (as a policy). Because even IF you can take our government and destroy our constitution, you cannot own our teams, our values, the liberty in our hearts. And guess what: You cannot win on the world stage without these values or the people who hold them dear. Christen can run for president in my opinion, which means Tobin you'd have to run too (lol). You both are total badasses. Thank you for expressing yourselves so fully! (you give me some dang hope). go USWNT, the pride of Americans (and countless other peoples!) everywhere!
Mia what a delight really upset for her ACL really played well for us when she was fit in limited minutes bailed us out in the FA Cup vs West Ham and could have mad a big difference vs Barcelona for us was also breaking through into the USWNT too get well soon and she is going to have a mega season for club and country 💪👆💙
Growing up in the deep southern Appalachian mountains in the 1970-80's I understand how strong family views take to change, so when I read Korbin's family is very hard core far right, this is what she grew up indoctrinated in. We must be compassionate look at her age and give her time to learn there is a bigger world and she can hold opinions different from her families. Ball is still in her court but she is so very young we must be mindful we all have made giant blunders in youth and had to learn the hard way how we walk this journey.
At what age is someone no longer considered young? She’s 21, went to college, and has been playing abroad. Plenty of time to understand a little more if she wanted to.
Tiger Woods said, “Winning solves everything.” When you win, nothing else matters. When you lose, everything matters, because as a loser there must be reasons for the failure and every pendant has an obligation to voice his/her opinion, which opens up anything and everything, fact or fiction, major or miniscule. It's the price losing costs.
I hadn't really thought about the fact that it was pretty much left to Lindsay and Alex to speak on a topic/slight etc that isn't US women national team but actually much bigger ie US women's soccer. I have been trying to give Korbin some grace because she is so young and really feel that had the organisation also apologised on her behalf and embraced the opportunity to restate inclusivity and respect, Korbin might not be receiving as much hate. Followers would inherently understand that she and the matter had been dealt with appropriately instead of being brushed over with the hope that it will go away. While players are pushing benchmarks regarding age and maturity when entering the arena, the people managing need to embrace the responsibility of helping these young people navigate the public aspects. It can't be assumed that all talented teens are coming with soccer skills as well as life skills. Christen and Tobin...you guys are old, wise souls too! Thanks you for an entertaining and insightful episode.
Why are you worried, who else would you but in that position, it’s either Lindsey, Alex, or Mal and Lindsey has most recently been the captain and seems pretty damn good at it
Korbin posted a generic apology that disappeared after 24 hours. She was called into the next camp. So the organization and new coach suck. My joy and love for the USWNT has gone down as a result. It’s not the same.
Emma Hayes is a great coach but frankly she doesn’t care what Korbin or anyone says.. she is there to win games and Korbin for all her complete lack of social awareness is a very good player
Megan trolled Christianity saying God doesn't exist because of what happened to her. "I’m not a religious person or anything and if there was a God, like, this is proof that there isn’t". So the post that Korbin liked, was a response to Megan's post. So Megan can troll Christianity/theism when there are Christians on her team, but she can't take a joke back? Soft.
I'm very sad to watch this team now. Watching the former team in all its queer power made me feel so happy and proud of myself in a scary world, and it feels like the new era will see that queer power removed from the team. It's one thing to accept all beliefs, its another to basically ignore the feelings of a whole community that supported this team and protect the bully player who hates that community above a huge part of the fanbase. It is very sad. I wish the former players still had power in this situation to uphold the values of the team.
You can see where Korbin's beliefs come from if you look where she's from, her family. With all the backlash she got all of sudden it's not gonna change. Plus, I don't think it needs to be escalated publicly because all that gonna be something for the far right to latch on.
My thoughts: I don’t care what she believes. However, I do care about the impact her actions (based on her beliefs or not) have. Those actions should have consequences; in this case they did not. Also, far right will latch on to anything when it comes to this team. A player could paint their toenails different colors and they’d complain about that.
This episode about Corbin and what she did, is very thought provoking. I was surprised and pleased with how it went. It sounded like it came from the heart and it wasn't scripted to be safe for the most part. The only down side is that Corbin wasn't there to state her side.
Korbin Albert didn't just "repost homophobic pastors." She also applauded the injury of a then-active player, and a would-be teammate, had that player not retired. There's a bit more to her than just being anti-queer. Wishing for bad things to happen to others is indicative that the person could/would deliberately harm a fellow athlete.
When the team started taking a knee there were a lot of players that didn’t. Julie Ertz, Kelly O’Hara, Karli Lloyd, and even Lindsay Horan, if they were not forced to take a knee, Korbin should not either. Let’s not have double standards.
I didn't see any player attacking one another for holding on to their position on the issue. Korbin was not being forced to change what she believes, but she went after a former player and attacked their believes.
No offense to Chelsea but the World’s best players play for Barça…. If Barcelona itself can play in the World cup they would win against everyone, every time.
Hello Tobin and Christen. In my primary and middle schools the majority of the kids were from a religion that was opposed to anything but straight married relationships. If players from that religion were picked on merit for US, they could be at risk of being attacked if they showed any support for the community view you discussed. Not picking such players, based on their views, could put US at odds with FIFA. It is possible to think it might put the idea of a US national team competing internationally in question. Not all the world has the attitudes we would now consider normal in English speaking countries. At the men's World Cup such things were already an issue. I did wonder if your community had considered this, since Korbin had, as you said, been a bit of a shock to what seemed like the norm? I had imagined that US appointed Emma Hayes to take the team past community issues and open the game to everybody equally, without any issue being considered except whether the player was the most likely to help US win. I envisaged her taking women's football into family oriented NFL supporting and to poor immigrant areas and getting kids into sport, who otherwise might feel that it was not open to all, because of assumed roles. I am not suggesting anything against what you said, just more on the lines of "Bend it Like Beckham". Alan's question about time of day seemed timely, since it is Midsummer and even here in northern England there are only a couple of hours of darkness. You could play in midnight sun in northern Norway. At the last men's Euros, a game in Glasgow went on very late, but it was still light. Interesting to see Mia too, as I have been watching the recent Chelsea videos, promoting their women's team.
Sorry but that is a very strange perspective. Players have always been picked for the USWNT based on skill. That has not changed. Nobody is refusing to pick players because they grew up in a homophobic community. That is insane. There is absolutely zero chance that the USWNT are going to be 'at odds with FIFA' because of it or somehow not permitted to compete internationally. If only people cared this much for the rights of gay players, instead of presenting a strangely passionate defence of a bigots right to bigot. Your comment also seems to be suggesting that it is somehow the fault of the gay community if players who show public support for them receive some kind of backlash. Funny how we're always to blame somehow. At any rate you cannot have a 'view' on whether gay people have the right to exist and be treated as human beings. That is hate speech and bigotry. Having an opinion is deciding what pizza topping you like, not dismissing a group of people because of something fundamental about their identity that they cannot change. Your comment seems to come from a place where bigots should have a right to abuse and wish harm and death upon people simply for being gay or somehow a team may be in breach of FIFA's policies. That's a great public example to set. Emma Hayes has not been appointed to 'take the team past community issues.' Hayes supports all those issues and has done so publicly. Every single sports team out there is involved in supporting social issues. That has been the case since organised sports began. You don't have to somehow pick between the sport and the advocacy, since they can all exist together. That is part of the platform of professional sports, as players have a duty to use their position to set a good example. That is why Hayes is such a great manager - she makes sure that people are picked on merit, but also will not tolerate bigotry and wants the same opportunity for everyone. It is fact anyway that the USWNT achieved their greatest success whilst they were fighting for their rights and supporting those of others. The two things are not mutually exclusive. Equally it is possible to both widen access to the game and target those from poorer backgrounds, whilst also making sure that gay players feel comfortable and welcome. The issue with the Qatar World Cup is irrelevant here, as women's football would never play a major tournament in an outdated place where a good number of their players would likely face the death penalty for something they did not choose and cannot change, not to mention the appalling record on women's rights. FIFA already wanted the Saudis to sponsor the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, but had to back down when players and fans revolted. And by the way it isn't just 'English-speaking countries' where gay people have rights and are protected as such by the state or changing social norms. Thailand, for instance, just passed a bill to permit marriage for gay people. Korbin is still on the team. The issue with her is that she not only offended gay fans and players, but also liked a tweet celebrating an injury suffered by a fellow USWNT player, simply because that player is gay. In most organisations there would be some serious consequences for such public unprofessionalism. As a comparable example, imagine Hannah Hampton or similar liking a social media post laughing at Mia Fishel's injury because she is black. People would be appalled. It is the same principle here: you don't choose your sexuality, just as you don't choose your race. Team members should all be sticking together. If Korbin wants to be a bigot on her own time, then great, but when you wear the shirt you have to behave appropriately. Instead of the predictable fussing over the consequences for Korbin, perhaps we should consider the impact of her hurtful actions on gay players and fans. The women's football community has always been somewhere where gay people have felt especially welcome and accepted. Nobody is forcing her to be a part of it, but if she plans to continue playing she is going to have to find a way to co-exist with the kind of people that she has apparently been taught to hate. As anybody else would be expected to do so in any line of work. One thing is for sure, she will have alienated a lot of people who will now not have her back.
@@MartaComplex There is talk in the run up to the UK election of the potential for blasphemy laws to protect certain religions, which would mean their ideas would be protected by law. A teacher in a local school had death threats for showing pictures considered blasphemous and has had to go into hiding as he has seemingly no state protection. Not all countries have free speech laws. I used the English speakers as an example, as in eastern Europe, for example, there are political parties that do not have the same direction of travel as Thailand. There are still only a handful of openly gay male footballers. Next year all the WSL teams will be owned by the same Premier League clubs that have this apparent issue. In parts of the US ideas are accepted, but it seemed at odds with what was going on elsewhere and cannot be assumed to be a "done deal". Conversely, the major sports team where I have family is a Rugby League team that has games dedicated to Pride and campaigns for recognition of trans people, so it did seem to me to still be an issue in football, hence the view from a different perspective outside US.
We also forget about the older generation of players that were part of the equal pay, specifically Hope Solo. US Soccer and a lot of other players did her dirty, they threw her under the bus but nobody wants to talk about it. Separately to what has happened in her personal life. US soccer and a lot of this same players did her dirty.
No need to post the same thing twice. Hope Solo acted in a manner which broke player guidelines with her outburst after the 2016 Olympics. She then had numerous irresponsible and dangerous behaviors and was punished for it by the law. Obviously the team would not have a criminal back among them.
korbin shouldn’t be anywhere near the national team and the fact that she still is after what she did is a disgrace and goes against everything this team once stood for. I can not, as a trans person, support a team who allows someone like that to represent them. trans people are dying and our rights are being taken away, this is life and death. I’ve been a fan of the uswnt for over a decade but this is a hard line that needs to be drawn.

US Soccer and a lot of other players did her dirty, they threw her under the bus but nobody wants to talk about it. Separately to what has happened in her personal life. US soccer did her dirty.
That is a very strange interpretation of events. Hope Solo is responsible for her own actions and has done and said some terrible things. Instead of acknowledging that and apologising to fans and teammates, she lashed out at others and attempted to blame them for her poor decision-making. Nobody is responsible for Hope Solo's downfall other than herself. Her teammates certainly didn't force her to break the law or make embarrassing public statements with regard to the women's football community. Sad that you seem to have fallen under her spell.
I don't know why they've made this such a big issue about Korbin Albert. If you all, cannot see how narcissistic Rapinoe is then you're delusional. Here's why. She was selfish to participate in the last World Cup. She took a spot on the team, when physically she was not up for it. She then insults God when she's injured, offending Christians. In my opinion, she messed up her PK to throw the game. She needs incessant attention, and attacked Korbin to stay relevant. But I know others will disagree. But look at it carefully and how she performed. Her and Morgan took two spaces on the team especially with Andi Sullivan and they couldn't even come up with one goal between the three of them. They took up spaces where other players could have been playing at their positions. And they basically cost the US Women's National Team an opportunity to being a finalist. But everyone wants to hold onto the past and say they've been great. They were great, but not now. And Korbin Albert is the future. A player needed at the mid to help win us the next Cup. Hopefully, because everyone is all upset by her, there will also be Lily to turn to. But I don't think she should be punished for thinking differently.
KA has the right to speak about her beliefs, no one is against that, she can be whatever she wants to be. I think the problem is her being disrespect to other communities and wished wrong to another player. The USWNT is known to be a safe environment and her comments do not represent that culture.
"this team stands for diversity" - the current NT captain whom ya'll praise every chance ya'll get literally *does not* & *did not* stand for diversity when given the chance. double standards creates mixed messages which creates situations wherein people like KA can feel empowered to pop off however they want. when you pick and choose who you call out on your platforms - always careful not to offend your friends - it is, uh, apparent.
What did Horan do that warrants this response? Not taking a knee? That's not the same thing as advocating for conversion therapy or being gleeful about a national team player's injury, not close.
Let me start by saying I support the Lgbtq community 100%. My stepdaughter is part of the community and I couldn't be prouder of her. My main dilemma Im having is why is KA, or anyones thoughts or beliefs a deterrent to her soccer skills. Whats one have to do with the other? You talk about inclusion for all, and then want her off team because her beliefs differ from yours or mine. I thought inclusion meant all. Keeping her off team because of beliefs and not talent seems wrong in my book. Why cant we just let people have there beliefs and leave the politics out of soccer.
I don't think the issue was about her being on the NT, but the way in which US Soccer dealt with the situation. With no consequence (at least publicly) it makes it seem like making such comments is okay and will not result in any sanction which is dangerous.
Dude, I won't be tolerating nazis. What the heck you talking about? "Good people on both sides" my ass. Acting out in public the way Albert did, always gets you fired. US Soccer dropped the ball.
Expressing her believes are one thing and she has the right to believe and express them. But she went further when she directly attacked a former player, there she crossed the line. You and I can disagree on an issue but I'll be on the wrong if I attack your character, which is exactly what she did with Rapinoe.
@@fischerfamily4117Megan attack multiple religions by saying “this is proof god isn’t real” if you didn’t know Korbin is Catholic which mean Megan invalidate her religion, so I mean seems even to me
I love you two but I have to disagree with this stance you're taking. If you want diversity that goes both ways. She liked and shared some comments/posts that were immature for someone on a national team to like/share but she is allowed to be a christian who believe being gay or trans is a sin as long as she doesn't persecute. I am quite confused about this idea of "harm". I don't know why we attack a 20 year old girl months after.
Thinking a person is living a sin for loving or being true to themselves is hurtful. People can have different stances about liking ice cream but not about a humans right to exist the way they were born. And especially using religion to defend these views when the most important part about being a christian is to love your next one. I strongly belive that god loves us all and would hate this hate so much of you are spreading.
im sure you still have connections so why don't you try and make a change and talk to the people at USSF or the teammates you're still in contact with instead of putting all this out on a podcast...do you really want to make a change or do you just want views?
I love both of you to death and I hate to go against you both. But you also have to take the stand of any person. That does a job. That forces a person to wear a jersey if you don't believe in it. Black lives matter's, or pride..... I won't buy jersey because I don't support it. It's not like the athlete can just not wear the jersey. They would get fined or kicked off a team. It's just like a football player taking a knee instead of standing tall and taking the pledge.... Sorry it should be a option. No means no!!! Sign a contract and wear the jersey

The part that I don’t get is that her best friend from Notre Dame is openly gay. Perhaps she’s two-faced? Weird dichotomy.
Megan trolled Christianity saying God doesn't exist because of what happened to her. So the post that Korbin liked, was a response to Megan's post. So she can troll Christianity/theism when there are Christians on her team, but she can't take a joke back? Soft.
@@machellovelivelife658 Define "trolled". Pinoe had an opinion about a religion which doesn't equal your god.
I think Korbin’s apology was the hardest thing for me to get past. It felt like she was avoiding what she was actually apologizing for. She never apologized for her actions. She apologized IF her actions hurt someone. That’s not a real apology
Did she even remove her likes to those posts? I don’t know how to look that up.
@@kidjayhawkI actually have no idea that’s a good question
I'd like to see a two year suspension from calls ups when these things happen
And only putting it up for 24 hours too
@@AngelaHaneyit's not a time length thing, she just needs to be clear that she doesn't support conversion therapy and won't take joy in fellow players' injuries because they're openly gay or non-Christian. She hasn't actually addressed what she supported.
i always appreciate how thoughtful christen is when it comes to the conversations beyond soccer and sports
That is so beautiful. What I hear is the definition of community
CP’s delivery regarding Corbin was one of the most important and intelligent excerpts ever!
I loved Tobin’s and Christen’s banter in this! The community questions were gold, they have so much chemistry with their banter❤
On a brighter note.... Mia is such a bright light! I cannot wait to watch her comeback. I have no doubt she'll be a bright light for the USWNT for many years to come. :)
I can't get enough of this show. Thank you both for sharing your wisdom
As a queer catholic. I agree it was a sad feeling. After the anger all that is left is just sadness and disappointment.
Yeah I thought Korbin should have been left off the team as well as a straight dude too much baggage probably would take longer than Emma thinks to fix this if it's even possible...
Mia Fishel is so wise and mature. Such a big talent! I’m a fan 💪🏼
It is so impactful to see you honoring your freedom of speech with thoughtful honesty and integrity when unpacking complex issues. Thank you for the so many layers of all you do as Badass™️ humans through and through.
Mia Fishel has a new fan in me! What a phenomenal person! So excited to see her journey going forward.
I love the Oops, Ouch, Educate. I have never heard that and I think it can work in so many spaces!!
Thank you for discussing this issue with such consideration but also such vulnerability. I think you guys did a really good job of holding space for the fact that we’re all human, but also not taking the subject lightly and being forthcoming in your opinions. Happy pride, thank you for all that you do.
The part that stung was Korbin wearing the number 15.

kudos reinc! really great episode, and banter is top tier too!!
Excellent show! So happy the re-cap is back! Makes my week
So true! I have a hunch she'll be better than ever after her body has a chance to fully heal.
Also, thank you Ally for sponsoring them and your continued support in women’s sports!
thank you SOOOO much for posting these on RUclips, I really enjoy being able to listen and watch.
Loved every second of this episode. This season has been WONDERFUL so far! Cannot wait for more :)
Wow Mia looks like a kid but acts and talks like a well seasoned adult! our USWNT has a bright future ahead.
The loving way they are looking at each other.....!!!! beautiful ....
Mia seems cool as hell and the kind of teammate you would want to have. Also very mature for her age. Will be rooting for her to get back out there. Good episode! Would love to see Alyssa Naeher on this show sometime.
What a great conversation and guest- thank you for the honesty and vulnerability 💕 also LOVE community questions haha- another wonderful episode!!
Happy people 💓 are fun to be around, especially if their of a sound mind.❤😂😂😂
best sport show on rn
Thanks!
Love love love this conversation with Fishel. What an awesome person!
The fact she was out there in her pride jersey after everything she said a few months ago is embarrassing for the ussf and their lack of morals.
exactly if she was homophobic say it with your chest and don't fake being an ally wearing the jersey
I'm queer and Christian as well. As ironic as that may sound, I love how Tobin spoke about the issue!
You guys should have talked more about the league in Mexico and did she enjoy it 😅 but overall pretty good episode ❤

I thought Korbin should have sat out a camp, but i did like that she participated in the pride games. In my view, true homophobes and transphobes aint wearing a pride jersey. I think it is worth something that she still participated, even with some of her past views.
I love Mia Fishel! ACL took a good one this year but I know she will be back better than ever
okay I think we all now need a video w\ Christen giving us a Farmers Market tour
So you want to ruin someone’s dream for liking an Instagram post, that is so inclusive of you.

This was soooo goood!! Loved the episode!
I miss tobins things 😔

Not only are they indeed auctioning her jersey but it’s a 4,000 dollars by far beats out any other player. On the men and women’s side. Blows my mind
We are sooooo stacked at forward
the fact horan is supposed to be that so called "leadership" is what makes me worried

❤
You can see where Korbin's beliefs come from if you look where she's from, her family. With all the backlash she got all of sudden it's not gonna change. Plus, I don't think it needs to be escalated publicly because all that gonna be something for the far right to latch on.
My thoughts:
I don’t care what she believes. However, I do care about the impact her actions (based on her beliefs or not) have. Those actions should have consequences; in this case they did not.
Also, far right will latch on to anything when it comes to this team. A player could paint their toenails different colors and they’d complain about that.
Amen 🙏
OMG can we please have a insta fit check of Farmers Market Christen??!!

This episode about Corbin and what she did, is very thought provoking. I was surprised and pleased with how it went. It sounded like it came from the heart and it wasn't scripted to be safe for the most part. The only down side is that Corbin wasn't there to state her side.
Chelsea 💙
US soccer’s fix was for Korbin to just not wear pinoe’s number anymore 😭
Go outside and touch grass.
That’s why they are the won Champions.
In reality, the Albert affair demonstrated the intolerance of many members of the LGBT community...
Oh please
korbin shouldn’t be anywhere near the national team and the fact that she still is after what she did is a disgrace and goes against everything this team once stood for. I can not, as a trans person, support a team who allows someone like that to represent them. trans people are dying and our rights are being taken away, this is life and death. I’ve been a fan of the uswnt for over a decade but this is a hard line that needs to be drawn.
We also forget about the older generation of players that were part of the equal pay, specifically Hope Solo. US Soccer and a lot of other players did her dirty, they threw her under the bus but nobody wants to talk about it. Separately to what has happened in her personal life.

I'd love to know what Lindsey did or didn't do that you're referring to here?
What did Horan do that warrants this response? Not taking a knee? That's not the same thing as advocating for conversion therapy or being gleeful about a national team player's injury, not close.
Lol hi Carlisle!
@@cache. And human rights will never = politics!
The people on the team can’t even make a change but you think these two can? Please please please be so serious right now, Caroline.
Right everyone knows the way you make true changing is by politely asking the people in power to be better 😂😂😂
