That flour mill is sOoo cool. I assure you I AM PREPARED for the bread extravaganzas! This episode was a feast for the eyes - loooooved looking at that Arctic Knits book and your fabrics are stunning. Have a wonderful week! Look forward to next video as always.
I am always amazed at all your creativity !
Thank you ;)
Thank you, it’s amazing how watching this inspires me on so many levels ❤❤
I'm so glad and I really appreciate this inspiring feedback
You have a whole new wardrobe there!!
Beautiful projects!
Thank you for sharing your makes in progress. Your thoughts on the process and time management of each has been very helpful and very, very enjoyable!! You have shared a way that makes everything feel cohesive and doable. I’m inspired to do the same. I’m looking forward to seeing your finished makes.
wonderful quilt! inspiring me to get started on my hand - quilting on a quilt with lots of curves. yours is looking beautiful xx
Hi Sarah. Very much enjoyed this. Thank you so much for taking us through the beautiful book on Arctic Knitting. I had seen a review of it in my Knitting magazine, but now YOUR review convinced me to purchase it for myself. It is now on preorder for me from a yarn shop in my area of the UK so I will soon have it once they have a delivery of more stock. It certainly is hard sharing time among our 😊 crafts isn't it?
Oh! I hope you enjoy it. Just the tactile experience alone is so satisfying.
You inspire me so much ❣️ Thank you 😘✨✨✨
Aw, thank you for sharing that sentiment.
Wonderful and inspiring episode, as usual. I think it's a brilliant idea to write a book with cozy as your publisher.......
So inspiring to start working on all those ufo´s that lies around and overwhelms me! And your beautiful projects makes me wanna start new projects😀 Thank you!🌹
You have so many beautiful projects going, Sarah! Some are so close to being done! You are an amazing artist. 🌸
Sarah, you have so many different types of projects. You have so many interests in crafting. I like the timer idea. Good luck with all your projects
I’m at a slightly different step in organizing. I finished ALL of my knitting WIPs including blocking. Whew!
Then I pulled out all the yarn/pattern/plan combos that I’ve been stashing away-overwhelmed to see about 30 things I’m set up to make! 😮 so I’m making a list on a white board and trying to make it all more accessible so I can go from joy to joy to joy this year.
Wow! ALL the projects blocked! Here we are two months later...how did the white board workout??
Some really wonderful projects! I am learning to make sourdough bread. I’m a bit obsessed. I look forward to your bread making
Hi sarah! I have also been inspired recently by kate of the last homely house. I’m hand quilting a patchwork started by my great grandmother. It's progressing faster than I thought and I'm enjoying it! Your video motivated me in my adventure, thank you ❤
How lovely that fan stitching is on the quilt! I'm sorry to hear there are some mobility issues but thank you for mentioning it. The reality is that for many of us mobility, strength, muscles are things that require our time, energy, mental bandwidth if we are to remain as healthy and active for as long as possible. Definitely the same issue here. And the realities of body changes impacting both on languishing WIPs and future projects.
Sarah, your time management piece was motivational; as well as going through projects that have been shelved. Over time, my incomplete items become a psychological burden. I also tend to stop creating at a transition point. I appreciate your inspiration to complete those items 🥰
I like that term phycological burden. It's so descriptive. Thank you for providing that insight!
That's funny, I also took to hand quilting on a big table from Kate at LHH, it's so simple and meditative, can't be dealing with that hoop thing! It's a lovely quilt 😊
Sarah - it’s nice to see that I’m not the only multi-creator who struggles with time management for each of my projects. For those of us with creative minds, I think we are interested in trying so many things until finally we realize we can’t complete many of them. I really like your idea of setting a timer and I sometimes do that. My problem is I usually grab the easiest thing to do and then I don’t get to the projects that take more thought process. I enjoy your videos - thank you for sharing.
I understand that strategy too, the grab the easiest most accessible project. That happens a lot during the week and school year. I relish my summer for really digging in. Thanks for your sharing your thoughts.
Your time management technique reminds me of a book called The Pomodoro Technique. The author used a tomato shaped timer (pomodoro is Italian for tomato) to do things in 25 minute chunks with a 5 minute break. He calls each block of time a Pomodoro and links them together for larger projects. It's great for productivity and making things manageable. Thank you for demonstrating its usefulness in doing things we enjoy! I always thought of it as a way to get myself to do the things I didn't enjoy.
As always, it's a joy to see a new episode. Thank you for sharing your creative endeavors with us.
I just impulse bought a Kitchen Aid grain mill 😂 Thanks for the endless inspiration! x
Oh jeez! How's it working out???? ;) Thanks as always for tuning in here Kate.
Thanks Sarah - this was an especially appealing episode with all that cosy goodness followed by a rummage through your UFOs! Encouraging to see I’m not the only one with many projects to finish!
At one point I considered getting a grain mill! Or sharing one with friends, since I am just 1 person. love the idea of bread from fresh ground flour. With my current commuting lifestyle I hardly ever bake😜.
I wonder if it's snowing in your neck of the woods? It is here and looks like it may stay for awhile, although I heard something about it mixing with sleet so who knows? I have a lot of quilts to finish but am waiting to get my sewing machine tension fixed and have the machine oiled. Have I taken it to the shop yet? No. First one to finish is queen sized Log Cabin. I'll be hand quilting it too. Then there are all those embroidery projects I began. A fairy tale like book and meditation stitchery book. I'll try your 15 minutes a day idea. That was how I started them. I'd rather be knitting I guess.
I don't know how you teach, commute and do all that you do. I retired from teaching but somehow it's still hard to get it all done. Best wishes.
Hi Sarah, while you were going through your projects I remembered you were needle felting I believe it was a Scandinavian reindeer. Which triggered I had ordered a kit from the same company so now I need to take it out and do it. I really want this to be the year to get some projects completed. Thanks for the gentle encouragement
I was watching on my phone and I thought you had acquired a new furry critter laying on the end of the table....but it didnt move and then I decided it was a sheepskin! Everything is beautiful. 2024 is my year to finish UFO's too!
❤❤❤
Your crafts are Wonderful. As always! Can you tell me about your bread cutting tool? I've never seen anything like that. My husband bakes bread every week, and I'm thinking, "Hmmm, that might make an interesting gift for him!"
I need to utilize your 15 minutes on a project idea.
