Love it . I'm sick of the horsepower wars. Bring back beautiful, minimalist, light weight, small, manual cars where you don't need to be going over 100 to have fun. Magnus reminds me of a pirate.
Sefton Hanley One of the many! haha My buddy is waiting for the day he can get his hands on an old Austin Healey Mini. I cant wait to see his 6ft 4in frame get in and out of that! lol Cheers! ^^
It isn't rice if he brings his car to actual racing events and races it. Which he does! He owns like 10 Porsche's. If he wanted this car faster he could easily make it faster.
***** In your opinion, it is. Pray tell, to prove that this isn't bait written by an 8 year old, what do you see as the epitaph of style in terms of cars?
This guy is keeping the car culture alive. Not many guys can do this apart from the likes of Nakai San and people like that. Not enough people who do this at all. Simple, small race cars. Not ridiculous horse power builds that require a moving garage!
Why all the hate? Social media is full of this nation of haters. It is just sad and pathetic. This man is successful and has the right to not shave. Why is it that in the western culture people hate on beards and long hair? At one time the beard was looked on and respected. Today it is the total opposite
I agree....and who cares about how he looks? He knows his stuff, this is a CAR show. If you care about how he looks then you must not be a car guy. The same type of people that complain about how Jay Leno wears the same outfit everyday.
This guy is ridiculous. The defining mantra of satanism is "Nothing is true, everything is permitted." That's not a joke, that's reality. Everyone who supports this guy's "lifestyle" choices is either a fool or eager to enslave the less insightful. If you decide to place a turd across your lip and define it as a "lifestyle" choice how is it less acceptable for me to reject that as my own "lifestyle" choice. I'm sure he knows his 911s but I'm not going to hang around someone with a communicable disease no matter how accomplished their external endeavors are. And if you think mental illness is not communicable then you are not clear what the concept of a mental illness is.
thatdevilguy how sad has your life been? Even if your just joking or trolling . For this statement to just pop in your mind , and then for you to decide to say. Is a pretty good look into what kind of person you are. And it's not a look into anything positive or pleasant. Why would you want thousands of people to know how shirty your life must be to think the way that you do. If I were you I would hide as much about yourself as possible.
I'm just amazed at the number of people who see a guy in a video with long hair and want to complain about it in some way. Magnus Walker can have his hair as he wants it. Thank goodness we aren't all the same.
not even gonna lie, I found out about Magnus from the new Need for Speed, but where someone seeing this would think oh that's cool only from the few trailers they've released, I delved deep into finding out about these guys. the more I find out about Magnus, or Akira Nakai, or Shinichi Morohoshi or Risky Devil, the more I appreciate it. like these individual people and groups of people that Need for Speed brought in are a gateway to a bigger world of automotives, though a smaller, select section, it still launches a pretty good movement
This guy is awesome, and knows a LOT about his cars. He's a real enthusiast. Doesn't just collect because the cars look pretty. He appreciates them fully inside and out.
Jay - I'd really like to thank you and the production crew on your videos for not adding additional music to the videos. I'm really really happy that I can actually hear the cars' motors and not some music drowning out the music that comes from the motors of the vehicles you showcase. Brilliant work, and I love this episode. Keep up the great work!
If he likes listening to music than it's an important part of the car. That doesn't mean he can't attempt to offset the added weight by removing some from other parts of the car. With that kind of thought process, if you were trying to make a car lighter, would you just remove every single item and creature comfort that isn't specifically needed for the vehicle to function. So I guess you think padding in the seats is unnecessary. They should just be hard plastic.
All this hate in comment section just screams jealousy. Don't judge this wonderful man by his looks just because you are jealous of what he has achieved. Respect and love to Magnus
Walker stuffed this car into a truck in Minneapolis a while back while taking a reporter for a ride. He spotted the truck (his OWN transport truck no less) in his lane coming around the corned ,lifted and that was that, oversteer and slid into the rear of the truck. I`m sure it`s already back on the road
Man this video hit home, I loved it. I've always loved cars that are powerful, but I've always loved driving cars where you can use all the power. I have owned cars where you dare not put your foot all the way down, and they are fun but... dare I say, are they losing their appeal for me? No, maybe it's just that I'm tired of the "More Horsepower!!!" march. I want balance. I want the ability to be one with the car, not try to tame the car the entire time. I desire a car that works with me. Please don't think I dislike awesome power, I love it! But I have had more fun in a CRX Si on the track than a Corvette on the track. Great video Jay.
simple, the secession was an act of treason. go pro-USA or gtfo no room here for cheering for or celebrating our enemies nor their "cause" they (CSA included) were/are USA enemies, pure & simple Your "why not" implies you're confused about whose side you're on. Using USA's 1st Amend to support anti-USA speech/symbols, is anti-USA in deed, though legal. If you follow by asking me "why not" be against USA I'll just smh and spare my time.
Mr. Leno as nice and sympathetic as ever, but Mr. Walker is spoiling the whole video. I don't care about how he looks, what bothers me is that he takes credit for other people's design and work. Most of what he refers to as "his design" on the exterior were standard features on the 911R. He might be good with cars, but stealing the laurels from others sure doesn't make him nice.
He never implied that he invented all the things that he does to his cars...he said "my signature touches", not my design...you need to pay better attention to what he is saying before you come to conclusions that the man is a liar.
NotoriousYeshi Sorry, but if he had been an honest guy, he would have credited the originators and not himself. Each is entitled to his own opinion, but in my book Mr. Walker is a liar and a fraud, living on an absolutely empty hype and the exploitation of others.
that was just a joke, no one care what he looks like it is his life but no doubt he does look like a homeless person which is just a fact of matter nothing else.....
YES!!! Thank you Jay for saying that... the "disconnect". Happily sold my 2012 Challenger, and now drive my '65 Mustang more than ever. So visceral and engaging, it makes me smile every time.
I have a HUGE amount of respect for this guy. His idea of making a race car that in completely streetable is exactly what my dad and i do with our mustangs. Right down to the stuff he shows up to the track with, spare tire, tool box, lawn chair, helmet and shoes. thats all you need, you get the enjoyment of driving the race car to the track, which is always fun as well watching everybody turn their heads as you drive by. I'd love to meet this guy.
That video was badass, thanks for sharing. Love that Magnus is such a passionate car guy, through and through. He's a testament that that you don't grow out of street racing no matter what age. Gave props too to the Civic when he passed by. Like that he's not a hater like typical younger street racers. He'd be a badass guy to go driving with.
It's actually 2300 lbs, and I'm not sure which civic you're talking about. I could be wrong but on the top of my head the fastest civic is a newer Si with only 195ish HP @ the crank? So not sure what you're basing your opinion on... And with the upgraded suspension, sways, brakes, etc, this car would destroy a civic on a track, but would beat it stock as well... And not to mention, he's keeping it stockish for the class he's racing in and because why heavily modify a piece of history?
Magnus, love the collection and your artistic, free spirit. How do you pay the bills in a spot like that? How many cars does one build or sell to do this? Keep going. Have fun!
Jay Props for having all tease under Ground Builders on your show. I have seen a few of Magnus cars on books and mags . He is my kind of builder. Every detail is thought out. Nothing is put in the car that dose not make it go fast stop fast or handle good. I love the old air cooled 911s. The sound of that flat 6 is just music to my ears.
Not much left from the 71 911T. Talking about patina means, he is not constantly washing and protecting a nearly 100% conversion to Carrera RS 73 body.
I appreciate it, but the car is sorta like anyones half beater race car that is still street legal, doesn't seem that special to me, and restoring 911's, ok neat, but what makes that special? lots of people can and restore older 911's, *shrug*
An English dude, lives in Los Angeles, drives German cars, interviewed by a former talk show host who's got more money than he knows what to do with,...fucken welcome to California.
Wow, Jay Leno has finally met his match. I never seen anyone come anywhere near his knowledge and character like Magnus Walker. These two would be two insane car show hosts.
Looks like a nice shop setup. My first was a 1970-911T Black on black. Factory racing seats and belts. 8.rears and a pummped 2.2 that pushed 249 on the Dino. 1976 whale tail.
Jay is such a nice guy for helping this guy out but I can't help but be annoyed by this Magnus character. I grew up in California and this guy is trying way to hard to be artsy and individual, so much that it's making him exactly like everyone else down in LA.
Its a cool 911 but why all the hype and media attention over it? what makes it so special GO to a PCA or POC trade day and you'll see lots of old 911's done up in a similar way. I remember seeing lots of 911s styled in that same way all the when I was active in the POC and PCA scene and this long before Magus. So what gives?
I don't get why Magnus never carries over the bumper color like the blue on this car over on the Porsche logo down the side... I just think it would help tie it in... Always white with red and blue too for the most part... But hey, still a very nice car and more power to you Magnus, do what you do brother
I have this scale model in 1:64. Actually I have 6 of the same car. I just love it so much. Hot wheels Car Culture. Solid heavy little die cast cars with real rubber tyres.
God I would love to shave his beard right off and shave his head bald..,get him really drunk until he passes out, then just have at it with a set of clippers. Not saying I hate his hair or that he shouldn't have dreadlocks, each to their own and he's a unique dude. It would just be hilarious when he wakes up. Not to mention i'm curious to see what he actually looks like underneath all that
does anybody know the title of the song playing from 04:53 onwards? shazam can't ID it; i think it might be a youtube editor song but i'm not sure! any help would be greatly appreciated :)

I cant wait to see his 6ft 4in frame get in and out of that! lol Cheers! ^^
Sefton Hanley Yeah, except a coupe :)

drilled door handles are a very cool modification!
What a MOUNTAIN Hippie!

Lots of haters. I bet most of them have bald heads, living a nine to five job that they hate and has no recognizable achievement.
Exactly

Magnus Walker! #SPEED
Magnus and Jay Cool guys,
This guy was so cool, a successful artisan with passion, sounds like the American Dream to me. Thanks for this one, Jay.
This Rob Zombie character has a great taste in cars.
jay loves cutting off peoples sentances and magnus is a crazy fucker..best combo lol
*amazing*
What type of C-class is that Camera car? C-300?
It isn't rice if he brings his car to actual racing events and races it. Which he does! He owns like 10 Porsche's. If he wanted this car faster he could easily make it faster.
He has already
This is Magnus
Magnus follows his dreams
Magnus is happy
Be like Magnus
Now all we need is for him to do an interview with Nakai-San and an RWB Porsche.
+Porsche Did 9/11 yeah....
not sure he speaks english
+Morgan Freeman he doesn't
+Nick's Gay Friend (Jacob Jones) RWB is ricer garbage.

+Matthew Law and before anyone starts, I already knew these two guys before need for speed hahahaha
Dude, there are plenty of guys that keeping car culture fresh.
He hasn't "built" anything tho...
So are you saying it's a streetable race car?
I think he said it's a streetable race car but I'm not sure...
Magnus the legend.
I see you every where

Haha, ok, what about that confederate flag on his racing helmet?
@@Arto343434 ever seen dukes of hazard? General lee
I had it muted at first and thought Rob Zombie had a sick Porsche.
Thanks goofy

Same here bro. I've been studying them like crazy. Ken Block is my favorite. And oh who could ever forget about the legendary Nakai San! #needforspeed
This guy is awesome, and knows a LOT about his cars. He's a real enthusiast. Doesn't just collect because the cars look pretty. He appreciates them fully inside and out.
Lols, I thought Magnus Walker was/is a fictional character from Need For Speed! =D

Did anybody else just die laughing when Magnus first walked in and stood totally sideways to the camera?
I thought he was cousin it
"you get to use all the power all the time!"
that sounds like my first car with 60hp.
Im suprised that he hasnt done an rwb interview the stella would be cool
Nakai San cant speak english
Jay’s always running with that ubiquitous left turn signal on...
magnus walker is like an angel
Drills out pedals for "lightness", leaves stereo system.
*streetable* racecar
drilling pedals doesn't make it any less streetable
Some people run 3 miles a day so they can eat ice cream, what's the big mystery?

Anne Kromhout a car without a stereo is a lifeless car. except if you have a performance car, just listen to the engine all day!
He was making a joke. Jay got it and thats why he came back with his own joke about the stereo.
Terrible camera! Do we really have to wait until 2:50 so we can see the guy's FACE?!
Fire somebody please.
Here you go mate: 12:01 - There's more of the guy's face than you could ever dream of
Pastafarian
lololol
All this hate in comment section just screams jealousy. Don't judge this wonderful man by his looks just because you are jealous of what he has achieved. Respect and love to Magnus

"...these signature touches I've been becoming known for"...
That car sounds amazing. 200 smiles per gallon at least!
The last place I expected to see a rebel flag is on the helmet of a British guy in the frunk of a Porsche
This dude makes me proud to be british. Beautiful, absolute work of art

Magnus is a class act! Met him at sema and he took time and talked to everyone that waited to talk to him. Super cool guy
i feel dirty just watching this video - time for a bath.
sean octane Magnus owns 10+ custom Porsche 911's, I bet you struggle to even meet someone legendary like him.
You feel? You are simply are in your mind losee
I'm not a 911 fan, but I would drive his cars. Quality work.

Pretty sure Jay was holding his breath standing next to him.
Jay leno giving charity to the homeless.

That's a very unique "accent" he has going there.
liked how Mag was just looking into the camera haha; towards the end....

2-classic Porsches are better
I Like that it is a race car without all the flashy chrome stuff The way a Hot Rod should be
My all time favorite Porsche.
On top of being a walking talking Porsche encyclopedia, I LOVE the personal touches Magnus puts on his cars. Great stuff!
i'll bet that guy has the best pot you can buy.
Magnus is truly a humble guy. Kuddos to you.
Just started watching this episode then paused and watched Urban Outlaw - came back and finished off your show which I absolutely love, thanks Jay!
Beautiful, this is how i like to see porsches done. I love the early 70s cars
Veeeeery cooool design and, of course, sound.
And his workshop is also very cool.
absolutely brilliant and thanks to magnus walker to bring beautiful cars back and that is most important 👍
