Didn't like the color combo at all at first, but by the end of the video, it grew on me so much!
It's sort of like the gt2 personality you need to spend some time with it;) Then it grows and grows on ya! In person the car brings out the smiles;)

I like Magnus, seems like a nice guy and he loves Porsche (I do too!), but I cant figure out quite what he does other than choose color combos and drill holes in door handles. More power to him, but it seems his biggest skill is marketing himself.

Someone should tell Mr. Leno that the brakes of these supercars are not "carbon fibre," they are "carbon ceramic." Not really that big of a deal, but I've heard him say it close to 10 times in these videos... and it's wrong lol. Cheers from Florida.

Another Cool Episode, Thanks Jay! Actually, that small fan pushes colder outside air down (Into) the engine bay and does not attempt to pull hot air out. The fan turns on, usually while at idle in order to reduce heat transfer from the running engine from rising up towards the air intake area while at rest. You know, the idea is hotter air robs power (a rule of thumb +10C relative to ambient translates to 1%hp loss) In motion, air is forced down from the air scoops into the sealed cold air intake air box, but further; more importantly at relatively low speeds after intense pull.. air also flows downwards from slits in the rear lid which takes temperature at the MAF sensor (usually just before the throttle body entrance) to around ambient (within 1 to 5 degrees depending on speed). At speeds above 20mph.. i don't think that small electrical fan is used.
The power in that car has to be brutal, stock they are extremely fun. Love it

Now, I respect a Porsche-specialist as much as the next guy. And, I know the color-scheme is race-inspired. But, it looks like somebody wrecked their 911, and then went to the local junkyard, and ripped some orange bumpers of another wrecked 911.

Yeah... Doesn't do it for me either. I would have gone for a white base and secondary colors that were Martini Racing inspired. The tartan seat inserts works for me but that's personal preference.

Looks like its been in a front ender & only half finished.
A thing of spellbinding beauty. Fine work Magnus. For a second I thought Jay and Alex were running in the 1968 Targa Florio. But it was Calabasas. The union jack detail adds a narrative, a jenson buttonesque evocation. The British Champion drivers. LeMans. My first car was a $500 1965 912, bright white, peeling varnish on the wooden rim wheel, cracked black leather seats. Absurdly rusted cape cod car.

What a beautiful gt2, having These two creative guys get together and build a car is the ideal thing to do. Alex and Magnus my hats off to you guys! I respect what you guys have done and Jay Leno you're behind the reasoning on this build.

Magnus Walker was born in 1967, and since that was the Summer of Love, your hippy comment is a couple of decades removed from reality. I liked his TED talk, and the fact that he functions as an individual, and has been successful on his own terms, even though I actually dislike this particular 'styling' job quite a bit.
Your comments about him are personal though, and one must be careful not to be a mainstream tool, the kind of person who loves to insert their tongue into the anus of authority and conformity.

man i saw this car in the previous vid, i fell in love with it and with so many Porsches i really decided thats the one i felt there is something really special about it, the crazy 700 and the styling...then suddenly i see this!! my fav and best 2 guys did it, so thats it, im buying it. This car genius, it compete with the 911R. best 2 cars ever.

sharkwerks Now after looking up its roots and understanding its theme a bit more it does help me enjoy and appreciate it. Seeing where it came from made it far more interesting than I first realized but I still don't like it as a whole sorry.
Around 22:00 it really looks like an old porsche in my mind. So while i personally don't like the colours, he really gave it an old porsche's vibe!

This car looks like it fell through a spare parts shop backwards. The bumpers don't fit the car, the air vents look like they forgot to paint over the primer, it's got decals, go faster stripes, flags & gold wheels. The interior looks like my grandad's wardrobe. Talk about lacking direction in the design department. About as nasty as his dreadlocked beard.
You´re definately right. This "piece of art" sucks to 100%. But maybe that´s the point: It´s ugly, but rare... LoL I´d buy it for a discount of about 8´000.- € to redo the painting and the f**ked up interior. Im always surprised at how many people do not get Magnus' design aesthetic. You need to have many design references (and many years) to get to this point...unfortunate that most people do not 'get it'. I love it.
He's got a lot of racing/passion/heritage stuff that comes out in a subtle way if you spend the time with the car(s). We're big fans;)
How to spoil a 997 GT2 with rubbish colour combinations and no added special bits, apart from a horrible paint ? Better stick to air cooled classic 911's with metal to work on, no plastic, Magnus...horrible, in my opinion.
