    -
It's been 20 years since I played RuneScape and it's finally time to come back. I wanted to go with the old school RuneScape because it was such a unique opportunity to come back to a preserved game I grew up with. My mission: to complete the dragon slayer quest and equip full rune armor. I hope you like it! Thanks for watching :)

In the settings tab at the top right search for "GPU" if you want the classic look, gear icon that and the top should be draw distance and extended map loading options. I agree with you on the quest helper lmao, I prefer to use the wiki to check what items I need during the quest and after that, just immerse myself into it, no guides, no handholding, just slowly going through it, reading all the dialogue, reading lore books and figuring it out on my own. Feels a lot more rewarding, and makes me feel more connected with the world.
If you ever decide to return to OSRS, I'll be the first one to binge it all up! There's nothing quite like unlocking something coveted that you put the time and work into achieve, especially as a new player.

I have an inferno max cape & trimmed achievement diary cape, 5b bank, and almost 7,000 hours played in OSRS. The game is incredibly vast, and there's no wrong way to play the game because it's account-based. Completing the game's quests (which are some of the best-written quests in any game ever made) unlocks more items, more quests, new skilling methods, and even entire regions of the game. Oldschool Runescape is a mile wide and as deep as an ocean. That being said, the game will consume you.
Also, to elaborate on the expensive items: The blue partyhat in Runescape 3 is worth over $2,500 in real-world dollars. In Oldschool Runescape, there are items that are worth more than the maximum stack of gp allowed in game (2,147,483,647 - limited by Java's maximum integer value) The Third-Age Pickaxe is currently worth twelve _billion_ gp, traded between players using platinum (1 plat = 1k gp) instead of gp.

@@ChickenJoe-tq6xd its subjective, but i prefer old school because of things such as the polling system, lack of mtx, refusal to update the art style, and the larger community. we also get seasonal game modes that are very fun to participate in. rs3 isnt a bad game, but old school/runescape 2 is what pops in my head when the word runescape is mentioned. you come for the nostalgia and stay for the great game design.

If you wanted to continue here are some ideas for another similar video: Monkey Madness, Desert Treasure (iconic members quests), go for lvl goal for all skills like 10-20 so you can try them all out, there are several unique skilling bosses that I think a new player would enjoy while also seeing how interactive the game can be. Good luck plasmorp, hope to see you on soon.

Also you’re right, the fact that there are two launchers you need to have running in order to play the game is a joke - but with RuneLite you know you can increase the draw distance (how far you can see) in settings?

As someone that has been playing this game for 18 years, I can tell that you have the mindset of a true scaper. Not wanting to accept money from your friend, not wanting them to change agility even though it sucks (which they actually are btw). I sincerely hope you keep playing, cause the amount of end game content you have yet to explore is beyond incredible. All the end game bosses, raids, grandmaster quests, amazing hard to unlock areas like Priff and Darkmeyer. It's truly something to behold. I'd recommend giving yourself goals to complete so you have a basis of where to go on your journey. Here's my recommendation on what your goals could be:
    1. Complete Legends Quest and Monkey Madness
    2. Obtain a Dragon Defender
    3. Obtain Barrows gear
    4. Obtain a Fire Cape
    5. Complete a Grandmaster quest like Dragon Slayer 2, Monkey Madness 2 or Song of the Elves
    6. Obtain a unique from an endgame boss like Zulrah, Vorkath, Cerberus, God Wars, etc...
    7. If you're truly addicted and cracked at the game by that point, maybe try for Infernal Cape or Quiver.
