They're probably starting to adapt to social media. More people are becoming aware of general narcissistic patterns so the ones who become aware that other people are aware have to adapt to fall behind. That's just how it is. There's even a channel of a self aware narcissist talking about narcissism. He likely gets his supply that way.

Yes narcissists do make videos on narcissism. One is actually the person who first came out with the name narcissism to describe the behaviors you speak of. The word Narcisis is a name from greek mythology. It is real easy for people to write words and read them to others portraying themselves as someone they are not. I deal with it all the time.
