I used to listen to Sirius/XM religiously and I remember perfectly how he do things like make it apart of his contract in signing with the radio company that the competing radio hosts at the same network were not even allowed to mention his name or even elude to him in any regard because they would mock and make fun of him so much. &When the Radio company would throw parties, inviting everyone from the company, he would throw a fit and threaten the company when he saw the other ones there. Making the company panick and kick them out in order to please him because he was bigger. He would fake suspensions just to stir up fake drama around the show and get attention in the news. I'm still amazed that he had the nerve to go on the View and claim he never used the N word on his show. I've been listening to old shows from 99 and hes said the N word at least 60 times in one week.

Anthony Cumia, one of the two hosts, built a studio in his own home and started doing podcasts on the weekend for fun in late 00's, early 10's, and Rogan has said it was Cumia who directly influenced him to start a podcast of his own, and that the O&A show's relatively format-less style, where the hosts and guests often just talked about whatever they pleased for 3-4 hours, inspired Rogan's long form conversational style.
Stern really did hate those guys, he heard they were at at an event he was at and had security kick them out. They made jokes about his daughter doing a play and the howiecopter. They also mentioned something about a Christmas party and his daughter. They worked for the same company and Howard had the boss ban them from saying Howards name. So that was areal feud and not just a radio bit. The only time Howard talked about them was after they got fired.

If you ever listened to Howard from the beginning. He basically shit on everyone. Had pity fights with other radio personalities, with his own bosses, actors, etc. That's what made him famous and feared by Hollywood. And he had the ego to match.

I'm a old Howard Stern fan, listened to him growing up and have watched and listened to basically as many episodes of his show in the 80's - mid 2000's that a human can. Howard Stern basically is hated by basically everybody who used to work with him or was associated with him because he threw everybody under the bus just like he did Joe Rogan but worse; and he changed his entire persona, identity and is a full on hypocrite trying to erase his own past. He's the greatest radio host of all time and a incredibly skilled talker. He's also the opposite of that person and has been since around and before 2007. The example case of "You live long enough to see yourself become the victim." all the people he fought against his entire career -- as soon as he could join them and take the easy road. He did. Whenever he can or could throw someone under the bus: he did.

Stern’s old stuff was great, particularly the first few years at Sirius. But Rogan really saw the future coming and innovated in the podcast space before most people. Which is why he’s now much more influential.
The irony is that Joe Rogan has kind of taken Howard's spot "on the radio" (in the internet age), and is so much more popular and famous than Howard ever was without having to be trashy, quite the opposite. It must burn Howard now since you can tell by the tone in the recorded conversations on Howard's show that Howard felt so much more powerful (in a showbizz sense) than Rogan at that time. A sense of "yeah I'm doing this guy dirty but I'm Howard Stern and he's just lucky to be on my show, so he's gonna take it". Not to demean Joe Rogan in any way, but I think a lot of people severely underestimate just how massive Howard was. The Howard Stern show was getting 20 million concurrent listeners at his peak, while Joe Rogan gets averages around 10-12mil views per episode.

As a doctor, people don’t know how much pressure we have to not ask questions about the vaccine or about gender issues in children. We could lose our jobs or stifle our careers for even posing a question. We unfortunately rely on people like Joe Rogan to ask the questions even if he doesn’t know the answers because we aren’t allowed to.
As a medical student, this is BS about the vaccine. You can ask questions, research questions, report findings, report side effects, ect.... This is how medicine and science works.
Part of the problem with people only watching Rogan clips is they never see how deep his guests get into subjects they are professionally qualified to discuss. The reason he was so confident in his opinion is because he talked to many doctors and scientists who were not on the woke pay role. Many of the people who helped Rogan develop his educated opinion got cancelled and then were proved correct later. You would have a better judgement on the situation if you actually watched 1000's of full episodes, instead of 5000 clips. Watching Asmon clips doesn't show the complexity of his opinions, character, or beliefs.

More or less. He does still emphasize that he’s just a comedian talking to people, and he does try to avoid completely talking out of his ass on important topics. He’s just willing to use common sense and consider ideas that aren’t exactly mainstream rather than just believing and following whatever the popular media is saying. A new generation of people are finding out how awful some of these old school radio personalities are. Much of the time their entire business model was just simply being the worst human beings in the name of "entertainment". I was really bored once and the only book available was Stern's autobiography. It was absolutely bizarre how he took no responsibility for anything he ever did or said. Then fast forward a bunch of years to his current show and it is even more off putting. To write a book as a 45 year old where you self describe yourself as a certain type of person and then go on to have the most passive interviews / softball interviews with politicians just shows that you are fake.

Why would you want to listen to Joe Rogan talk about the vaccine? Now that's a question that I feel like doesn't make a lot of sense, since Joe runs a podcast talking to OTHER people from various backgrounds about various topics, some of which have backgrounds in a medical field or other science fields of study, or politicians/lawyers like Robert Kennedy that have studied the behaviours of pharma companies and just how much pull they have in US politics, though that episode specifically may be a bit dry, it's worth a listen. Point is it's not about listening to Joe specifically, it's about listening to the conversations he has on his podcast with other people.

As someone who grew up in the 90’s I think the last time Stern was relevant to my generation, or at least to my knowledge, was around 9/11. His coverage on his show that day was legendary. After that it was basically nothing until he became a judge on America’s Got Talent which was obviously completely different and had almost nothing to do with his previous career.

Anthony Cumia, one of the two hosts, built a studio in his own home and started doing podcasts on the weekend for fun in late 00's, early 10's, and Rogan has said it was Cumia who directly influenced him to start a podcast of his own, and that the O&A show's relatively format-less style, where the hosts and guests often just talked about whatever they pleased for 3-4 hours, inspired Rogan's long form conversational style.

So that was areal feud and not just a radio bit. The only time Howard talked about them was after they got fired.

Stern’s old stuff was great, particularly the first few years at Sirius. But Rogan really saw the future coming and innovated in the podcast space before most people. Which is why he’s now much more influential.

The irony is that Joe Rogan has kind of taken Howard's spot "on the radio" (in the internet age), and is so much more popular and famous than Howard ever was without having to be trashy, quite the opposite. It must burn Howard now since you can tell by the tone in the recorded conversations on Howard's show that Howard felt so much more powerful (in a showbizz sense) than Rogan at that time. A sense of "yeah I'm doing this guy dirty but I'm Howard Stern and he's just lucky to be on my show, so he's gonna take it". As a doctor, people don’t know how much pressure we have to not ask questions about the vaccine or about gender issues in children. We could lose our jobs or stifle our careers for even posing a question. We unfortunately rely on people like Joe Rogan to ask the questions even if he doesn’t know the answers because we aren’t allowed to.

Part of the problem with people only watching Rogan clips is they never see how deep his guests get into subjects they are professionally qualified to discuss. The reason he was so confident in his opinion is because he talked to many doctors and scientists who were not on the woke pay role. Many of the people who helped Rogan develop his educated opinion got cancelled and then were proved correct later.

A new generation of people are finding out how awful some of these old school radio personalities are. Much of the time their entire business model was just simply being the worst human beings in the name of "entertainment". I was really bored once and the only book available was Stern's autobiography. It was absolutely bizarre how he took no responsibility for anything he ever did or said. Then fast forward a bunch of years to his current show and it is even more off putting. To write a book as a 45 year old where you self describe yourself as a certain type of person and then go on to have the most passive interviews / softball interviews with politicians just shows that you are fake.

When I read your comment I 100% agreed with you, but I interpreted what Asmon was saying a little differently. He wasn't saying someone can't be a writer and knowledgeable about other subjects. Just that people shouldn't get so butthurt over a writers opinions on other subjects.

Why would you want to listen to Joe Rogan talk about the vaccine?
Now that's a question that I feel like doesn't make a lot of sense, since Joe runs a podcast talking to OTHER people from various backgrounds about various topics, some of which have backgrounds in a medical field or other science fields of study, or politicians/lawyers like Robert Kennedy that have studied the behaviours of pharma companies and just how much pull they have in US politics, though that episode specifically may be a bit dry, it's worth a listen.
Point is it's not about listening to Joe specifically, it's about listening to the conversations he has on his podcast with other people.

Joe Rogan is intelligent and interviewing expert guests on the subject actually gives him credibility. Prob is doctors were silent and or complacent. The whole roll out of unproven, untested medical recommendations were the whole reason for the FDA and we just straight ignored and shamed people who questioned whether this was safe or effective.
It's not the striper, It is the fact that it was said in confidence and then broadcast to the world. You can't trust a person like that because it shows they are willing to use you for their gain.

Technically he did, but it’s used in humans too. If you’ve ever taken basically any antibiotic then they could say you’ve taken horse antibiotics as well, because they’re used for both humans and animals. EDIT: I disagree on one aspect. Joe, while a tool, meets and speaks with hundreds of experts a year and has enough money where he can get elite level healthcare. I 100% believe he has information better than Joe Schmo on the street when it comes to medicine and breakthrough treatments. Same thing with J.K. and gender/polotics, whatever that means.
As someone who grew up in the 90’s I think the last time Stern was relevant to my generation, or at least to my knowledge, was around 9/11. His coverage on his show that day was legendary. After that it was basically nothing until he became a judge on America’s Got Talent which was obviously completely different and had almost nothing to do with his previous career.
