Exactly. I wish people were still up Elon's ass about "solving world hunger" for approx 7bn (his # not mine). But bought twitter for 40bn and its value is below 20bn rn. That difference in scale could have double (nearly triply) "solved" world hunger. Or did a SIZEABLE dent globally. 😔
Mr. Beast actually gives back. That's a huge thing to do.
Edit: since this was getting traction. I felt the need to clarify. I didn't literally mean the man solves world hunger (not sure thats a thing), I just meant moving food to areas where there is less, even none, is expensive. 40bn could have provided food to millions for long periods of time, instead of a useless social media app. 🙌

My best friend is in a wheelchair. She herself calls herself disabled. She's the most incredible person I've ever known: generous, kind, loving, and the most open-minded person I know. She was once filling out some paperwork and put down that she was disabled. The lady at the front desk got pissy with her and said she needs to write *differently abled* and gave her a stern talking-to about how calling herself disabled was incorrect. She was not rude back and simply told her that that's what she calls herself because she is disabled and left it at that. My friend was 14 when she lost her ability to move, in a car wreck where half her family died. She has never complained and instead remains one of the most positive happy and outgoing inspirational persons I have ever met. I'm so grateful for her friendship and kindness and all the hard work she has accomplished. She can call herself whatever she damn well wants lol.

So if Taylor Lorenz acknowledges that blindness is a “disability,” then doesn’t that mean she is classifying them as “different,” then doesn’t that defeat her whole argument that blind people are seen as an “other?” Isn’t she, a non blind person, putting them into a category and speaking on behalf of them? I saw this and far worse with my own eyes when I went to Uganda in the early 2000's.

My take on disability is - to never force your help and respect autonomy, but always help with their consent. Same goes for children and elderly.
When i see a blind guy struggling to get on the bus - i'm not gonna push him inside, just tell "hey dude, door is to your left". If he's still struggles - i'd ask if he needs help. If bus doesn't announce stops (or does it wrongly) - i'll ask where he's going so he'd not miss his. And if we're going off at the same stop - ask if he's familiar with the landscape or wants some directions.
Disabled human is no less of a human, just disabled.

As a disabled person, and a gamer naturally, I found when you called a disability an debuff awesome! As it's true.
And it makes sense, the DM rolled a Nat 20 in my event and now I have a permanent debuff called "maimed" for the loss of a leg, and now I have to play the rest of life on a harder mode.
Which is fine... shit happens and it it what it is, but I also occasionally run into other players who:
    a. don't want me around because I make them uncomfortable
    b. don't see that the world still is recovering from the old mentality "Disabled people shouldn't be seen and should just stay home!", and that some places still could use some easy access.
    c. don't care if that parking-spot is designated for disabled people, "I'm only going to be a short while!"... while I'm trying to park.
that really annoys me, and could be contributing in making me wish I could play it solo.
But luckily the majority where I live isn't that way, and is helpful.

If we live in a world where showing kindness to the masses is always shunned because “ur doing it for clout” and negative news and Deanna make its rounds, what kind of skewed version of the world are we showing? I feel it’s important to inspire change, i don’t care why the creator is posting it, they helped someone. I bet the person on the other end of that was so happy to be blessed. There’s no reason not to celebrate that! After watching a couple of those I saw some volunteers picking up trash. I went hope, brought them cold waters and snacks because it was almost 100 degrees outside in GA.
Let kindness be kindness, and celebrate the love that is in our world. Allow it to exist for what it is. Thats my take.

They just hate selfishness. But selfishness is what makes MrBeast's philanthropy possible to begin with. He helps these others because that's what *he* personally wants for them; and then he uses the self-benefit from uploading videos to make more of the change he wants to see in the world happen. It's basic capitalism.
Everyone else hates it because selfishness is supposed to be this force of evil and corruption so they can blame capitalism for all the problems in their life, instead of taking personal responsibility to make things better however they can. So when they get one-upped, whether they're terminally online tankies or literal government officials in the African countries that got new wells, they're going to get mad.

Disabled people choosing to see their disability as a part of themselves is a coping mechanism or more specifically, a way to gain control and power from their situation. It does not mean that if an absolute cure is found and offered to them, they will not take it.
Using that logic to justify bashing on Mr Beast’s philanthropy is incredibly asinine
