Corden was popular for a few years in the UK primarily for writing and acting in a show called Gavin and Stacey. He then kind of disappeared for a year or two before appearing out of nowhere in the states. We have no idea how or why but it seemed to really go to his head.
      You can keep him.

Most forget that Corden had to follow the greatest, off color, and very honest host ever, Craig Ferguson. He was the complete opposite of Corden. When Craig screwed up he would own up to it immediately in a humorous way that put everyone at ease. Ferguson's monologues about alcoholism, refusing to take cheap shots, and recognizing world events were some of the most well received moments ever. Ferguson also completely threw out the notion of trying to control and steer his interactions with guests and really did just try to have a good time with them, which they loved. The number of stars who appeared on his last episode opening montage is proof of that.
I think the network wanted to get rid of Ferguson's Legacy as quickly as they good and go back to controlling the narrative, which is why they hired Corden. Corden should've known he was being hired because he is a tool and that his boolsheet would be exposed.

I remember they were running through hosts for that show like an old man has to pee at night.
THey went through several of the BBtheory cast members, and some other people before James,
and he just happened to click well enough that CBS kept him. He got wildly lucky with Carpool, and that pretty much cemented his stay there, so long as he didn't cause TOO much trouble. Also his interview style pulling all guests out at once and letting them play off each other, (which is what Graham Norton does) is a somewhat unique and easy interview style compared to other US talk shows.

Even before his rise to fame, he was an ass.
I lived in Cardiff when Gavin and Stacy was being filmed, and he used to walk into clubs, and demand balcony areas were cleared and turned almost into an adhoc VIP area for him, kicking all the regular people out that area. So long as Dave thought Craig was being interesting or funny he could do whatever he wanted. Dave's show pulled enough numbers and his production company had both timeslots by contract, so Letterman could do whatever he wanted with the hour after him. Which was Craig. That show was a fluke. I love the comment "Everything you've said is true, every bad thing and I'm going to keep on doing it." The whole respect thing is actually pretty damn true. If these people would just come out and be like "Yeah, I'm a fucking asshole. I'm probably going to stay an asshole." People would hate them, but at least they'd earn that respect of telling the truth instead of lying about it and faking being a good guy to the public and a horrible shitheel in private. Like mama always says: Tell me the truth and I won't punish you bad, but if you lie to me, I'll spank that behind red!
But you get the gist. Doing a bad thing, but being honest about it, is seen as a more respectful thing, compared to lying about it. That's why people love Tony Stark. Dick to almost everyone, very rarely lies unless it's life or death. To take the words from MJF, "Yeah, I'm a scumbag, but I'm YOUR scumbag!" But yea, all of them are out of touch, and they don't care. Idt one is any different than another when it comes to politics and political parties. One may be better on an issue. But the real issue is....they probably are t being genuine they are manipulating, preying on the publics desire for change, or someone to speak up about this or that. They use it to manufacture consent. Because the only power the corporation known as the US has, is the belief by the ppl that it has power. The US corporation is separate from the government of the United States of America. And that corporation cares about what all corporations do. They will tell you what you want to hear while doing different things behind the scenes. The media focuses on the spectacle of right vs left and never discus the things ppl need to know, because the media companies understand their role in the corporate environment. Nepotism and perspective management is the name of the game. But they are losing the crown because they are so divorced from the reality most ppl experience, even tho I believe they are creating the divide intentionally. The corporate management vs the workers. What ppl think of as govt, is just the corporate structure set up to mimic the original govt of the USA. But because the masses don't know that, they think there is a difference between party's that matter and they are confused why the constitution doesn't seem to apply

Never had to try, always forcing food down to maintain weight. Getting older now, I have family with mobility issues and stuff, so they can easily put on a lot of weight and really have to watch their diet to avoid becoming obese (for example my uncle, ex military body builder who literally can't keep his weight in check because hes confined to a wheelchair now), but ive also been around absolute gluttonous pigs. Fat shaming in general is a bad thing, but when a 450lb dude comes to lunch break with 6x donuts, 2x gallons Turkey Hill Iced Tea, a pint of ice cream and 2x foot long hoagies... Im gonna say something, lmfao.
Honestly feel bad for Corden in a way, but he has indeed brought it upon himself. Obviously didn't get enough attention as a kid, or maybe was ostracized from the various cliques for being an annoying fat kid in school. As far as "fat shaming" goes, I agree with the fatties, but NOT because I think it's a big deal talking shit about fat people. I'm a fatty, but I wasn't until I got older and even before I 'let myself go', I NEVER thought it was okay to pick on fat people. I remember, in elementary school, seeing an obese kid (still remember his name) being chased and beat up by junior high kids on his way home from school that day. It was probably the first fight I ever got in because I already hated hearing the kids in class picking on him all the time, but seeing that was the last straw. I got my first black eye that day, but I wore it like a medal because I was proud of myself for taking their attention away from him. Yes, I always did have a "hero complex"- daydreaming about saving a girl from a burning building and being her hero and maybe that sounds stupid, but looking back, I am still proud of the kid that I was.
I have always stood up for and with the underdog. I have always believed in treating people how I want to be treated. I also got pretty good at it, to the point that people wouldn't be assholes to others around me. I'm not saying I was or am a badass, but I did develop a reputation that kept me from ever having to get physical and my sense of humor and quick wit made me that guy the 'bullies' didn't want to mess with. My way of humiliating them was probably less appealing to them than if I had kicked their ass. I was also kind of an advocate for treating people cool and I was pretty good at reasoning with people and helping them to see the value in being the good guy, rather than the prick. Of course, this was all much easier in the 80's.
That said, I also don't have a problem with people criticizing fat people who pretend they are proud of being fat or glorifying it as some sort of beautiful fashion statement. Fat people are NOT physically beautiful, unless you have that fetish, and they are NOT healthy. Where I do agree with the fatties on 'fat shaming', is that it shouldn't be 'fair game' if the same standards aren't acceptable in every other situation. Being fat myself, I couldn't care less if you pick on me (because I really don't care what people I don't know or care about think of me) and I won't try to argue with you about the facts about health, or even the subjective truth about being ugly. Even though the consensus is that being fat is a choice, what people don't seem to realize if they've never struggled with being fat, is how hard it actually is to get in shape. Many of the remedies for losing weight entail methods that are just as unhealthy (in the process) and/or spare time that some people just don't have. Many people don't have time in their day to work out (significantly enough to matter), prepare healthier meals, and losing sleep can actually stifle one's ability to properly function physically and metabolically, in the ways necessary to maintain their weight. PLUS, there are many people who would never put as much effort, as they expect from fat people, into doing other things that could improve their own lives. So, it seems hypocritical to listen to skinny fucks rag on fatties.
I think the bottom line is that many people who pick on fat people are the kind of people who would be picking on other types of people, if they wouldn't be shunned by society for it. This leads the fat shaming to become more prevalent.

Sometimes it's a struggle, consider turning all your electronics off and take a quick hot shower turning it cold before getting out. The heat helps open the blood vessels and the cold cools you down swiftly. Core body temps are big when it comes to helping you sleep. Good luck man

Asmon is 100% right. I would switch to respecting James Cordon if he went full villain mode. If he did come out and say "I was rude to people, I plan to continue to be rude to people. Come at me" and then start taking low level villain roles I'd start watching some stuff with him in it. Imagine if he played Hal from megamind, or Jack Horner from Puss in Boots 2. If he started playing the person people think he is then he would earn back so many fans. Plus he gets the added bonus of screaming profanity at any paparazzi.

You know, this bit about how it's okay to be pissed with paparazzi, it reminds me of a line in One Piece. When fighting Captain Kuro, he says something about being wanted and how awful a price it is. Luffy then replies with, "If you don't want the infamy, then don't be a pirate!" It seems to me, if you don't like the attention, then don't be famous.
