The lady with glasses at her shop in the Mercado Modelo, Tekka, used to join the Capoeira roda at the Mestre Bimba school in Pelourinho back in the summer of ‘03 when I was there…she ‘played’ Capoeira like she was possessed, a true living legend. Ah the ferry terminal, I guess if you are not cool with water you won’t be able to put up with the almost three hour 🤢ferry to Morro de São Paulo, although there is always the partial land route through Itaparica 🐢(there’s always the plane option 💰of course). Take it easy!✌️

Some of the names shown in the video are religious, such as Oxossi and Ogun. And you're right, there's the upper city (cidade alta) and lower city (cidade baixa). There's a film from several years ago called Lower City with three famous Brazilian actors, about a love triangle.
