I had a meet and greet with Mick Fleetwood before a concert and someone asked him what musician he would like to play with if he had to pick one and it was Peter Green. I followed up one that answer and asked him how Peter was doing, and he sighed and just said he had let go of Peter a long time ago. That was about 6 years ago. After that I wrote an email to Mick's manager and stated to Mick that Peter wasn't just a lunatic because that's how he described him his first book as just going mad from an overdose of LSD. I wrote that Peter suffered an injury to his brain and he should not think of Peter as being "mad". Well Mick did change his view and I'm really glad to hear Mick has excepted Peter for what he is now. I think Mick had some deep reflection about Peter and the tribute to him is the fruit of that reflection.
Totally AMAZING interview!! Just a total WOW factor listening to him talk about music origins, influences and life in general. Simply incredible...WAY TO GO FRED!!!
Dude, this is amazing. Mick Fleetwood is an absolute amazing human being. Makes it even that much better that he is into whiskey and that whole mindset of sensory experiences. Unreal interview! You’re the man, Fred 🥃
Awesome! Thank you so much for joining. In addition to music interviews, we have a bunch of fun whiskey content. Hope to see you in a livestream. Cheers!!!
@@waynesilverman3048 = Yeah!? Blimey, but wouldn't be suprised in hindsight. He claims his habit was worse than Stevie N's in some articles although if he kept it under control/says it enhanced performance then don't blame him.
@@FredMinnick dang, i didn't think about that. if it's a couple bucks hell yeah (like throwing change in a jukebox), but any more than that I'm out boss. I'll just play it on my end to get into the groove 🤙🥃
@@nataliedavidson3515 True. I can no longer take Mick seriously after what he did to Lindsey. And the fact that he and Stevie lied about it to their fans, only makes it worse.
What a once super group!! Who destroyed the very soul of the group! Lindsay Buckingham! Shame on you!! Stevie Nicks Destroyed a Legend a Super Group and a great friend! Shame on you Nicks
Buckingham and Nicks brought the group back up to standard. Yeah, it's not what they once were, but the period between Green leaving and Buckingham/Nicks joining was pretty stale, IMO. Peter Green, Danny Kirwan, Jeremy Spencer, John McVie, and Mick Fleetwood will always be the real Fleetwood Mac in my book, though. But they really reinvented themselves in a big way that can't be denied.

"Excepted Peter for what he is now". You mean accepted. Accept means to believe in or receive, while except means unless or exclude
When did Peter suffer an injury to his brain?

Peter Green WAS & IS the greatest blessing for guitar & blues guitar...

Ahhh shucks!!!
Love this Fred. Fleetwood Mac was one of the first rock concerts I went to in high school. Love the early Peter Green Fleetwood Mac albums.
So glad this popped up on my feed! Just a wonderful and evocative conversation among two distinguished gentlemen. 🎩
Nice Mick. Good on you. And we miss you Peter Green.
agreed. thanks for watching!
Great job Fred, loved this interview!
Great interview Fred. Watching from Maui.

@@FredMinnick oh definately notification on I love my JD and coke👊💙
Whisky and Mick Fleetwood, ok I'm subscribing.
He's a recovering addict is he not?! The latter by the look of it, but absolute legend and do enjoy this channel.👍
Didn't think Whiskey would be on the 'Total Abstinence' agenda, but if it worked for him then All the best to the LEGEND.
He admitted when they played glasto that He still does a bit of coke sometimes and helps him play live ,but maybe he can get away from dabbling?

Take me to dinner Mick it's on my bucket list .
What would be your dish of choice at dinner?
back in the 70's i did lots of cocaine. it wasnt the buzz i was after i just liked the way it smelled....
Well done Mick
Very interesting interview learn much the ambiance of fine whiskeys. Mick is an interesting person well spoken. Juan
Fresh content Fred. "Big Love" by Fleetwood Mac would be a fresh, funky intro song for part 2 🤙
Can you pick up the rights fee for that song for me? :)
Lmao why, it's a Lindsey Buckingham song and Mick is partly to blame for getting him kicked out of the band

How you doing "SIR?" lol
In my defense, I call everybody sir and ma'am. Part how I was raised and part being in the military. :)

Green left on his own accord. Go listen to Rumours idiot.
I like both periods... But RUMORS is deep in my heart (and so is Albatross)
I appreciate both, Lindsay is undeniably a monster guitarist aswell. John and mick knew what they were doing.
