  • On Saturday September 19 at 1pm AEST, Australian Musician presents a special two and a half hour livestream tribute to guitar great and founding member of Fleetwood Mac, the enigmatic Peter Green, who sadly passed away in late July this year.
Fittingly, our livestream on September 19 marks 51 years since the release of Fleetwood Mac’s acclaimed 3rd studio album Then Play On.
In the tribute we chat with artists all over the world who were either influenced by Peter Green or personally knew him. The tribute presents feature interviews, a few riffs and licks and some never before told tales of the life of the elusive Peter Green.
Artists involved in our tribute include: Rick Vito (Fleetwood Mac), Leo Sayer, Midge Ure, Pete Stroud (Peter Green’s Splinter Group), Dennis Dunstan (Fleetwood Mac management 1978-1995), Orianthi, Andy Powell (Wishbone Ash), Dave Mason (Traffic), Brent Mason (US session player), and a host of respected Australian musicians including: Diesel, Geoff Achison, Shannon Bourne, Jeff Lang, Jimi Hocking, Hamish Anderson, Anne McCue, Gwyn Ashton & Chris Finnen, and Nathan Cavaleri. There’s also a special message sent from Peter’s Fleetwood Mac bandmate Jeremy Spencer.
Plus Australian audiences only have the opportunity to win a fabulous Vox Cambridge 50 watt amp by watching the feature and answering a question, which we will ask during the tribute.
    Entry email will be info@australianmusician.com.au
Question to come during the event. The competition will remain open until midday Monday October 5th, 2020 and winner announced Tuesday October 6th.

Thank You. Peter Green is the only one in a class with Jimi Hendrix.

Peter Green was never involved with the Children Of God and his nails were about 1-2 inches long not 10 inches! I know size isn't everything but Dennis Dunstan, of all people, should have his facts straight! A great presentation nonetheless. Very good stuff....

In 1967 I was a kid spending the summer in New York. Went to the club "the Scene" in Times Square and when Pink Floyd finished their set at 1am ( yes, Pink Floyd played clubs in the beguining) it was announced that Fleetwood Mac were going to play till they had to go to the airport and go back to England which ended up being 5 am. The stage was about 8' x 12' and 7 " high. With Pink Floyds gear still on stage Peter had to stand on the floor and I was sitting 6 feet away from him. It was my first brush with blues and its stuck with me for the last 63 years.

My dear friend and blues Brother was Ron Thompson of Ron Thompson and his resistors. He was good friends with Mick Fleetwood. Many years ago Ron and Mick went to England. They got to hang out with Peter. And I think they even did some session work on Mick fleetwood's solo album called Africa. I miss all three of my favorite guitar players Peter Green, Ron Thompson, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Thank you for posting this for all of us out here that miss and love Peter Green. I even got to speak to BB King about Peter Green. Mr BB King said, he has a big heart and he is a super warm human being. I miss BB King too :-) God bless and stay well.

Peter Green exhibits a direct connection between his hands, heart his fingers and a higher power. My first LP was "Then Play On" in 1969, since then I've been on a crusade to wake people up to the genius of Peter Green and much to my delight I convinced most that Peter was better than Clapton, Beck and Duane Allman who were the popular guitarist at the time in the Bronx, New York . Not only was he a genius on guitar he was a person who led a life I was impressed with and tried to emulate. RIP Peter Greenbaum

My dad back in the late 70s early 80s worked with peter green in a removal service

  • @jonathanhandsmusic

I was listening to the Blues Breakers and Fleetwood Mac, all the British stuff that was hitting the west coast of California. It helped me to discover the blues, which I’m still digging 50 something years later. Peter was a big influence on my early styles which I was copying.

  • @user-wp1tg3iq5h

me too Peter had so much feel just as mike Bloomfield

  • @greenmanalishi6963
