- Mingyur Rinpoche explores how automatic impulses can lead to reactive behaviors.
He offers practical advice to break the cycle of reactivity by observing the relationship between uncomfortable bodily sensations and negative thoughts.
Using awareness, we can transform challenging experiences into opportunities for growth and greater emotional freedom.

This is great. It has gotten easier for me with time. At first, I would notice my reactivity after it happened. Then I started noticing it when it was happening. I would become aware of it earlier and earlier, until I finally found myself noticing the reactivity before I act. It is a daily practice, and of course I still have work to do, but it has made a big difference in my life.

A fine comment, well written. I noted it in my journal as a motivating quote. Thanks and best wishes!

Golly galoshes, that's funny!
Rinpoche is so clear and concise with his advice. It’s such a joy to hear the truth.
Also try to sleep well and other virtues.

Set yourself up for success.
Amazing...never get tired of this man speak... always listen to yongey rinpoche. Thank you ❤😊
Very coincidence this video came across, as I’ve just experienced this few days ago. I pretty surprised during the incident I’ve self awareness immediately and found where was the communication barrier, change my mindset, simplified the communication with another party to find a solution. I’m grateful that another party also start to be self awareness after all, issues resolved too instead of having unpleasant conversations. Always grateful to listen to Mingyur Rinpoche’s teaching.

I have been meditating for about 17 years and it really does help.
Too many seprrpent bites from Fuher. LOL grow up. 🔝
We have to make a conscious choice and realise that reacting is a habit, if it has to turn into a bad habit replace it by a good habit like leaving a lovely comment on a youtube channel. You have more chances to leave a positive impact with other people.
This video is so useful for me. I am so grateful. Thank you so much Guru Mingyur Rinpoche.🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for your wisdom Venerable ✨
In other words, when you are upset (as an example), do your best to be aware and be mindful. That then gives you control of the situation.
If you are truly mindful, you are not truly angry and if you are truly angry, you cannot be mindful.
Anyone can be mindful and calm about a situation the day after something happens.
Instead of waiting a day later to decide how you would have liked to react, it is 1 minute later.
With practice it becomes 10 seconds, then 1 second, then it is a reflex to be mindful.
Good advice 🙏
Blessings🙏
