I am heartbroken to realise I have wasted a month learning the wrong pronunciations and vocabulary. I must now start over. However, I am super happy I found you. Such clear explanations and very logically laid out.
Hi, you didn't lose your time because it's the same language. Only some words are different and some letter combinations are read differently. That's the same language, two different variations. You can learn Brazilian and speak Brazilian in Portugal and vice versa. However, I would suggest you to focus on one version and stick to it just to avoid the confusion.
This is the big problem, Duo has Brazilian Portuguese, which is quite different in terms of pronunciation from the European one, and unfortunately, most of the learning materials out there focus on Brazilian Portuguese 🤦🏻♂️

Honestly I'm so glad I found your channel, I've been wanting to study a third language for a long time (I'm Romanian) and I found Portuguese to be quite attractive, however all I could find was Brazilian Portuguese content, including Duolingo (which tbh got very repetitive and boring quite fast) so thanks for sharing these lessons, they're very useful. I've saved the playlist and will go through all of it. Até já!

Most of your videos include phonetics and subtitles, which is different from other channels. Phonetics is the most important factor to determine a person’s listening skill. You are born to be a language teacher.

This is my second day studying Portuguese. Already such a beautiful language. I am English but I already speak exvellent French, good Italian and basic Spanish. Many of the words are so familiar. I'm sure i will enjoy this! Great lesson ❤
