These drills on blended words are by far the best I’ve heard to help understand European Portuguese speaking people. Would you consider making a once a week video drill like this of blended sentences? I believe I’d learn the language so much faster. Unless one understands how Portuguese words are blended and spoke in the real world it’s very hard to understand and carry on a conversation. Obrigada

The most valuable part of this lesson for me was learning what words are attached to which other words. For example “O que e que se + passa”(sorry, my iPad refuses to do Portuguese punctuation). I used to say this “O que e que + se passa” which is actually more difficult to say. The very best part of the lesson was the introduction and the look of bewilderment on Maria’s face. Now I know what I look like in class much of the time!
This video is amazing ! However, it would take me a few weeks of practicing and repeating these exercises to remember and to master the pronunciation. I think though that I will make a plan and record myself with each different sound combination and start practicing today. Totally worth it! Even if I dont learn it all quickly, my ear will be more atuned to the sounds which will help my comprehension. Thank you so much!

Yes, I always say to my students to record themselves because you can hear it afterwards, keep the track of your progress, correct yourself, and most importantly- you make it a habit to speak and by repeating these sentences many times, you create the muscle memory so it also improves your listening skills. Make it a daily 5-minute practice and the results are guaranteed. Good luck! :)

I know... nobody teaches us that... They overload us with grammar and vocabulary, but the pronunciation is completely neglected.
I learn French and am familiar with the liaison of words. Woah, the Portuguese of Portugal took it to another level.
