How did you become so proficient in portuguese... Right now, my head is spinning with all of the new information and I'm just amazed at how a person from your country Serbia or any other foreign country can become so proficient. How did you do it how long did it take?
Hi Maria, my husband an I have recently move to Portugal and I am so happy I found your videos, we really enjoy them and we slowling starting to apply what we learn here on our daily life , thanks for what you do!
@@portuguesewithmaria So happy to read that you are releasing more videos soon, for what I saw there aren't as many structured A2 level lessons , it would be nice to have something similar to what you have for A1 to continue after , but to be honest I am sure any video you release in the future will be useful
Very good lessons, Maria. It was a great surprise for me to see that the names of the days are definitely inspired by the Hebrew language and culture. Thank you for your very professional work.
Thanks for taking time to break down the sounds within expressions. Without that, it can sound like a blur. By slowing it down, it helps me to hear the component parts. Thanks Maria!
I’m enjoying this videos and I thank you so much for investing time in making them. I know these are a few years old but I would recommend some longer pauses between different sentences. That’s when someone thinks of what it’s been said and maybe repeats the phrase aloud. Jumping immediately to a new phrase is a bit overwhelming. That extra second would help a lot. Thank you Maria!
I totally understand that and I appreciate your feedback but trust me, I see it in analytics that the attention spam is very very low and the longer the video, the sooner people leave. As if it weren't for free?! I don't understand it but when I record, I repeat the sentences many more times and I do make longer breaks but when I edit the videos, I do my best to shorten it as much as possible. Unfortunately, the analytics tell RUclips if it should push the video to more people or not and everyone who's listening can always pause the video to repeat as many times as needed, write down or reflect on it.
Your spoken word is vey clear. As you recommended in your recent reply, I do stop and repeat the video to get accuracy in my pronunciation and understanding. Thank you!
I have always struggled with putting the correct proposition with the days of the week. You have presented it so well that now I feel confident that I can do it correctly.
Yes, the main idea behind the video were prepositions but not to scare people, I just looked for the way to introduce them in small chunks, it's easier this way than giving you all the rules when to use which one, it's a nightmare, just like in every language...
Thank you so much for the detailed explanation and sounding of the language. You are one of the best teachers I have found on RUclips to date. Practice makes perfect!
You're a great help with the pronounciation. Other programs and tools don't come close. And the nasal sound is difficult if you're (like me) not used to it. Many thanks!
Então, malta, que dia é hoje? Qual é o vosso dia favorito e porquê? Eu detesto domingos, mas adoro sábados. Nasci num sábado cheio de calor em pleno verão.
¿En serio? ¿Y qué celebran hoy? Soy cristiana ortodoxa y ayer comenzamos el ayuno más importante del año que dura 14 días en memoria del Tránsito de la madre de Dios, la virgen María (Dormición)
That word 'no' could be confusing because in English and Spanish it mean a negative term. But I'm learning Portuguese with you, Maria. Thank you so much.
Yes, I know...😅 if it's still confusing, try to remember that it has 4 forms- singular and plural, masculine and feminine: no/na/nos/nas. I understand it's so natural to you to when you see it written to think of /nou/, but we read it as /nu/.
Olá Maria. As in other videos, great and very clear pronunciations (maybe even I will learn some Portuguese, before going there; although my French and Spanish tend to pull it to their side). Since you have a lot of different videos, do you have a suggestion on the order in which they should be watched? Not being a linguist, I'm not sure what strategy is the most efficient to learn Portuguese. Since there are so many words similar in French and Spanish, the pronunciation in Portuguese is a REAL difficulty. Cheers and muito obrigado.
Obrigada, eu, Vidal! 😊 Gosto de ouvir de que é que vocês precisam, e tenho boas notícias para te dar- estes dias começamos uma série de vídeos dedicada à pronúncia!😊 Ate já!
Hi, Richard, what do you mean "why"? You need to conjugate Portuguese verbs, and that second person is even regular, unlike the first person and the third person singular.
What a great teacher you are. I am lucky that I found you on RUclips. Your teaching methods are excellent, I will definitely watch all you videos.
Hi, Marshall, thanks a million! 😊 I'm glad you find the content useful. If you have any questions or requests, drop me a message.
