I had seen this at Costco while looking for one to replace my Bissell that never did a very good job (first of the dual brush). It was a major pain to setup and impossible to clean. After seeing your review and knowing Costco’s generous return policy, I picked it up. All I can say is wow. They really did engineer this very well. The reservoirs are easy to use with the dirty being extremely easy to clean as you demoed. All the parts that get dirty come off for easy cleaning including the brush roll. Love that it comes with a drip tray. It’s not night and day better than my old at cleaning, but the incredible suction is sure better. My carpets were dry in 2 hours with a fan blowing over them. Thanks for the review!
Watched this video this morning and immediately when to Target to buy one. My white rug was dark beige. I have a dog, 2 cats and 2 toddlers. This machine made my rug look like new in 1 hour. It used 8 water tanks and about 13oz os solution for a 9 x 12 short hair rug. Excellent excellent results!!! And also removed all the dried play dough and slime from another rug.
That's a lot of tanks, but if it works I guess it’s worth it? My dog is old and quite frankly, smells. So I need something that can remove the hair and smell frequently. Thanks!

That's my only down side to wanting to buy anything Shark products moving forward because you can't really find anything if you needed it.
Yup. None of their models uses parts and/or even attachments from the other models. Parts are often impossible to obtain. They are a throw-away product. Some with their blenders. It must be a corporate policy.

Is a person able to run the carpet cleaner, without the Oxi booster? And did you do any tests where you didn't use it? To see how well just the machine and regular cleaning solution worked, since that's how all the others work? Since Oxi-clean doesn't really "clean" things, but bleaches them. So the stain could still be there, but it's not able to be seen. I'd be interested in how the results would be, if it wasn't using an oxi booster, and was compared to the other cleaners on a more even basis, since most of them don't have an oxi booster. Though, the suction at the floor head is very interesting to me. The more water it can suck out of the carpet, the faster the carpet will dry, and less dirt or stain gets left on the carpet vs sucked into the tank.
Glad you made a video on this, I picked this one up a few months ago randomly at Walmart and thought it was weird more people weren’t talking about it. Very unexpectedly good carpet cleaner

I got a Shark NV360 after your review. GAWD, it was damn good on my hard floor. Got it for cheap, too. Just 20 bucks. Hey! love your explanation and reviews on vacuums . It helped me pick the right one . Now i'm looking for a carpet cleaner and there is a new shark carpet cleaner that just came out a month ago i think, It's called Shark CarpetXpert HairPro Pet with StainStriker . Its like a better version as they said from this one . Can you please do a review on it ? thank you so much!
Between dreame L20 Ultra and Roborock S8 Pro Ultra which of these vacuums would be best for vacuuming dog hair specifically on tile floor? My German shepherd sheds a lot every day 😅 thank you!
What about for pet owners? I vaccum over the areas before I use it and I still get a ton of hair on the rollers. Does this get a ton of hair on the roller?
Is it light to carry upstairs. I have had a bissell Pet Pro for years and found it did not do a great job like I thought and found it heavy to carry upstairs and it took two hands to do so.
Thanks for the great review! I wonder have you tried the model without the stain striker? In the UK and the base model CarpetXpert without the stain striker is on sale at half the price £149 vs £299. All the specs seem the same other than no tank for the oxy. I wonder how much of a difference this would make to the cleaning ability?
So here’s the deal. I’m a big fan of the channel. But this overlooks a few things. As others have said, this is not the first carpet cleaner to have an onboard hose. You have also previously noted that stain trapper type attachments weren’t all that useful because they’re bulky. I will give that the dirty tank is easier to clean, to me it very much resembles the crosswave. And while I have never had an issue with this, many people, included vacuum wars, have said that it’s messy and not worth using for big clean ups. I will argue that carpet cleaning isn’t as messy as picking up a spill of pasta on hard floors.. but I guess it could be? Regardless, the bissell 2X revolution does have a difficult tank to thoroughly clean and rinse the suds out of. My biggest problem with this is that this test DOES NOT test objectively (at least not to my understanding). I do believe that the products are what makes this carpet cleaner perform so well. The suction is excellent, I can’t deny that. But I would love to see how this compares when using the same solution. I’d say you can use water but I don’t know if that gives realistic results other than results by comparison. Personally I’d use the mixture of the previous chemical winner (the bissell max solution) at the same exact concentration. And I would put the same solution in both tanks on the shark. It won’t matter how it mixes, because the concentration is the same. That way what you’re actually measuring is the cleaning power of the machine, not just how well it uses the chemicals that are proprietary and from my understanding, hard to find in stores. I do use the bissell solution for carpet cleaning, and I pre-treat depending on the stain. But I will mix the solution depending on the strength needed. If it’s just a quick maintenance clean it doesn’t need a powerful solution mix. As a matter of fact, sometimes I’ll spray the solution with a pump sprayer and let it sit before using my machine to rinse with just water, and no solution at all. In contrast to this, I never use bissell’s solution in the crosswave. I clean my hard floors with Lysol, as it still kills germs when diluted, and I feel it gives a better clean. All of this to say, while there is a lot of objectivity in these tests I can’t help but feel that this is somewhat misleading. For example, when talking about the attachments, it’s misleading to show one of the worst attachment systems that isn’t even on the winner of your favorite carpet cleaner list. It also doesn’t mention that other cleaners do have these attachments. Including a crevice tool, which bissell has as well, but I’ll give a pass as it’s a less common attachment. They also have a stair tool that is amazing if you have carpeted stairs by the way (it has 3 rotating sides, one for the crevice, one for the curved edge, and one for the flat parts of the stairs, 10/10 would recommend). You have also previously said you prefer to be able to control the water output, but I’ll give this a pass to because ease of use is worth rewarding. To be clear, I love my shark. But I really value the objectivity of your reviews, and while you have previously said you think your tests speak for themselves I don’t feel that applies here completely. Many people have complained about sharks customer service and part availability. I can’t speak on that personally. I do love my shark, but I loved having a trusted reviewer and I don’t want to see this channel lose that. I like this machine but the commitment to a chemical system specifically for this machine that they may stop making just doesn’t sit well with me. If the success of this machine hinges on those chemicals, then that says more about the chemicals than the machine itself.
One question I have after this video. You always use your favorite Bissell cleaning solution when testing carpet cleaners now correct? If so, was the shark the only product that used its own two part solution?
Thanks for asking! We actually cover those differences in this article right here: vacuumwars.com/shark-carpetxpert-carpet-cleaners-what-is-the-difference/ hope that helps!
It isn't designed for that, but there are hard floor washers that are designed to "freshen" carpets. we looked at those most recently right here: ruclips.net/video/1mhpm_xB1ic/видео.html hope that helps!

Normally I like your content, but this one is fishy to me. You seemed to be highly selective about when you compared this Shark to the Bissell Hydrosteam and to the Pet Pro. For example, you talked up the fact that the Shark dirty water tank is only 2 parts and the Bissell pet pro is not and a pain to clean except the Hydrosteam tank is only 2 pieces. Second, how is that it requires 2 different cleaning solutions not a con?
Did you find that the oxygen clean formula was used consistently with the regular cleaning solution? Just got mine and it doesn't seam to be getting used. 🙃
Well I have broken about three BISSELLs or they broke on me, stopped sucking up water and the belt that spin the brush wore out its rollers, so yeah I’m getting a shark they also make noticeable Better vacuums
I totally disagree. The tanks are waaaay to small. The suction is ok. But the jerkiness of the brushes is awful. I own a doggie daycare with lots of carpet. I have had Bissels, Hoovers and Shark you are reviewing. The best one in my opinion is the Hoover Smart wash pet hands down. Shark second place, the Bissel pet pro revolution third. I do like the attached hose, though. Very convenient
@@sarabrown461 The brushes are longer, so therefore, it cleans carpets how much better. The suction is really good, and the tanks are much bigger than the shark unit. They’re not great, however, but they’re the best non-commercial ones out there I believe Only get the purple or red ones the blue or teal ones aren’t good at all Smaller motors, therefore the suction isn’t as good
800ml tank is absurd, and a lot of reviews stating they blow dirty water out of the motor vents, peppering anything nearby, I’m surprised at this video.
A nice carpet cleaner, with so many Pros but one Cons--leaves the carpet wet. Because no one pays attention to how much the machine picks up water from the carpet. It looks like more than 50% stay on the carpet. I have used the dry mode for so long and my carpet is still wet. Sorry, have to return it.
I do love your videos overall, but man you always give suspiciously good reviews to shark's products. It sure feels to me that you are less critical and more forgiving of choices for shark products vs other brands. Given your past work with the company, it is hard not to be concerned that your views are being influenced.
@@JoeyDee86I will say I really like the hose being attached to the machine. Seems so obvious, I'm surprised this is the first time its been done. But the .75 gal tank is tiny, and I am very doubtful about the usefulness of the "oxy-boost" for the hand tool. I would have loved to see a comparison with the boost tank removed and in place, but oh well.
@@JoeyDee86both of you guys are flat out wrong. I have three Dyson vacuums and two are the top sharks battery power. The ones that he recommends. I prefer Dyson because it's easier to move around even though they are top loaded heavy .. And the only nice thing about shark is that it has a dual Head spindles. This is due to you, allowing the collection tank to fill up too high or splashing the water within the tank while the machine is running. It will pull the water through the motor.

You confused the words subjectively and objectively in the first sentence of the fourth paragraph
@@AG-sx9ws thank you, I absolutely did. I think I had edited the way I wrote it and didn’t swap the words to match. I appreciate it.
I want to ask you what you think of Ulmo vacuum??
I mean Umlo
So it automatically dispenses water? When does it know not to spray water?
How does it compare to the Tineco?
How does it compare to the big green?
Had there been any reviews on the Shark Carpet Xpert 150? This is the latest model, but there was a version before this
There's a second version that has a shark pet stain elimination liquid and the oxy multiplier (redesigned)
Are the carpet cleaners tested on here using any specific solution? Or just what they come with?
One question I have after this video. You always use your favorite Bissell cleaning solution when testing carpet cleaners now correct? If so, was the shark the only product that used its own two part solution?
can it go on wool carpets?
Does it also act as a normal vacuum?
It's designed for carpet cleaning.
FINALLY YES!
Please do samsung bespoke jet AI 280w.
found 2 models available, model 120 and model 150, what are the differences besides the price?? thank you. love your reviews!
Thanks for asking! We actually cover those differences in this article right here: vacuumwars.com/shark-carpetxpert-carpet-cleaners-what-is-the-difference/ hope that helps!
@@VacuumWarsI didn’t not see the ex205 on the article, any idea on the differences in that model?
I love shark products. Ninja and shark have taken over my home 😂
Can it also clean hard floors? Would I be able to use it on that too?
It isn't designed for that, but there are hard floor washers that are designed to "freshen" carpets. we looked at those most recently right here: ruclips.net/video/1mhpm_xB1ic/видео.html hope that helps!
We are in need of a carpet cleaner new puppy has destroyed our carpet and spray treating hasn’t done the job. I just don’t know what I should get that will be most affective
My Shark® CarpetXpert™ with Stainstriker™ Upright Deep Carpet Cleaner is coming to my door tomorrow morning by FedEx! I can’t wait! I love my Shark Steam mop that comes with the order of the Shark carpet cleaner!
Thank you!
We really hope you enjoy it!
Hi here for a carpet vacuum cleaner choice. How’s it working for you? Tia
What is the difference between the Shark EX201 and EX200?
And I've been waiting for them v do come up with va new cordless hydrovac..
Imagine how much power the shark will have if it had 2 rollers, stiff brushes and an onboard heater
did you figure this out? Judging by the manual, it would seem the oxy solution tank is only used when using the hose / hand tools.
@@MattZildjian It is only used for the hose.
Are you forced to buy their soap solution or can you use any brand you want?
How do I use just the vacuum without all the water and soap?
You don't. The Carpet Xpert is strictly a carpet shampooer, you need a stand alone vacuum.
Well I have broken about three BISSELLs or they broke on me, stopped sucking up water and the belt that spin the brush wore out its rollers, so yeah I’m getting a shark they also make noticeable Better vacuums
I know nothing much about vacuums hence this question... Can I use a carpet cleaner as a regular vacuum?
Nope. Kudos to an honest question though. 🙌🏼
If this can beat the bissell pet pro ide be SHOCKED😮😮
It’s so sad I can’t find that one in Germany yet 😢
I am surprised to see shark get into the carpet cleaning game.
Back again 😂😂
I totally disagree. The tanks are waaaay to small. The suction is ok. But the jerkiness of the brushes is awful. I own a doggie daycare with lots of carpet. I have had Bissels, Hoovers and Shark you are reviewing. The best one in my opinion is the Hoover Smart wash pet hands down. Shark second place, the Bissel pet pro revolution third. I do like the attached hose, though. Very convenient
What do you love about the Hoover over the other two?
@@sarabrown461 The brushes are longer, so therefore, it cleans carpets how much better.
The suction is really good, and the tanks are much bigger than the shark unit.
They’re not great, however, but they’re the best non-commercial ones out there I believe
Only get the purple or red ones the blue or teal ones aren’t good at all
Smaller motors, therefore the suction isn’t as good
800ml tank is absurd, and a lot of reviews stating they blow dirty water out of the motor vents, peppering anything nearby, I’m surprised at this video.
How much? I'm sold
$249.99 on Amazon
I do love your videos overall, but man you always give suspiciously good reviews to shark's products. It sure feels to me that you are less critical and more forgiving of choices for shark products vs other brands. Given your past work with the company, it is hard not to be concerned that your views are being influenced.
Or they’re just making a better product? I certainly like mine much better than my Dyson except for the hose length
As someone who owns multiple sharks and Dyson products from uprights to cordless I believe the sharks outperform the Dyson's consistently.
My wife uses the shark because she prefers shark and I use the Dyson.
His reviews if you pay attention to them carefully.. He's actually speaking the truth...
I like vacuums too.. whatever the reason.
Im also a reviewer (not on this channel) and have brought multiple different lines of products, shark vs irobot, dyson, bissell, tineco and shark is generally better where it matters.
Who’s collecting the coyote urine ? Asking for a friend…
Ofc, the Shark is the best cleaner from a former Shark employee.
Does him doing consulting work (not an employee) magically mean the results at 5:09 aren't real? Does it magically mean the onboard hose feature is a lie? Etc etc
@@ThatsPetyno mans not a simp
If shark can come dip there toes in the commercial waters that’d be kinda iconic
After two tanks, mine started spitting dirty water out of the motor housing.
This is due to you, allowing the collection tank to fill up too high or splashing the water within the tank while the machine is running. It will pull the water through the motor.
@@jaredb2142 The collection tank was not overfull, and it's a bad design flaw to allow dirty (read: ionized) water into the same comparment as a high current AC motor.
would like to see this vs the new bissel revolution hydrosteam
Yeah im not gonne lie i actuallt got a bisstle cleaner abt $200+ into it an it got paint out of my carpet plus 8+ years of heavy foot traffic and i walk with shoes In the appartment at times Looked gross i syopped using shoes in the app after relizing how dirty ofer the years carpets get
Review felt as if you were up selling Shark.
I wonder how Shark's products will last long term. I had a Bissell steam mop and a upholstery cleaner that barely lasted 4 years each.
Yes this is clearly a Shark advertisement. But it sounds like it’s actually a good product.
Wow! Thank you!
how in the HELL did you get coyote urine?! loll
Shark replaced my defective device and, guess what? The second one does the same thing.
what does it do?
I wish Shark would give their vacuums this long, flexible hose vs the short, stiff and nearly useless Vertex unit.
Coyote urine?
Amazon!
Where does one get coyote urine? 😂😂😂
We bought it on Amazon!
Might be time to replace the previous title holder with this new Shark.
