Almost a year ago i was watching one of your streams and you gave me a few pointers on how to deal with tilt. It helped. This video has helped me remember that i play this game to have fun, not whine and complain. Great video!! I give it a 250k nightfall score
They are very closely related for me at least. When I play video games I tend to turn off from the world, leaving me and the game. No filter in between. I experience games as the true version of myself, and mental health affects the true version of ourselves too. There's a symbiotic link between how we game and our state of minds - changes on one side affect the other.
@@AscendantNomad I notice that I get frustrated much more when I play when I have had a rough week, or if I am playing without talking to people on discord. I think it is just as important to be aware how you get into the game just as much on how it may affect you while you play. Thanks for sharing man :)
"Let. It. Go." Hearing those words in my head in AN's voice is so far the only thing that has calmed me down after yet another OEM Recluse Edgelord has shredded me in 2.5 nanoseconds. In all seriousness, getting shot out of my super immediately after popping it gets me pissed off more than anything in the game. Could you do a video on good Super-ing?

Not a new video, but wanted to say thanks. Been already long playing with the mindset of "you getting killed isn't the fault of the guy who killed you" and deep down was aware of the points presented in the video, but the amount of stuff you have no agency in that happens in D2 pvp has been slowly getting under my skin lately and started to suffer from tilting way too easy. This video genuinely was all it took to get me back to my old good habits. As a very analytical person (when calm), I can go straight to the rationalising part by asking myself "why did I die" after every death. I had stopped doing this at some point and really shouldn't have. The answer to that question then is either a start to fixing my mistakes, or letting it go like stated in the video. Thank you. I needed this reminder.
I try and do a running commentary for each death, “Bad map knowledge, don’t peak that lane twice, missed that jump, wrong gun, choked the 1v1, stopped moving....”
I find that goofing around in rumble really helps keep things in perspective. Things like “I’m not using guns this match”, or, “I’m focusing on evasion this match”. It does wonders for clearing your head, while also practicing things in an environment that doesn’t matter in the least. I bring this up bc I did this in Halo back in the day.... and it stuck. I learned so many tactics and counters that I stopped using guns all together, and winning games like that was super fun, super funny, and tbh, super troll-y. (This was before party chat, so the smack talk was Wild West and hilarious). It’s just a game, have FUN! :)
As an actual 9-5 coach, it's great seeing these tips in gaming ✌🏻 Also, understand and be conscious of reinforcement. Every time you say "ugh I hate this map", you're just reinforcing that negative point rather than rationally trying to learn how to improve with the resources you have available to you (map, guns, class etc). The more you reinforce an attitude, the harder it is to change it later. My own main trigger: stupid people. Including myself when I do something I ought to know better 🤦🏻♂️
Watching this video has allowed me to change my attitude towards competitive modes in Destiny 2. Which, in turn, has allowed me to more fully appreciate the things I love about the game. I've been trying to ignore the fact that the game is still an FPS at its core, justifying it with all the unique effects on weapons and additional mobility...and therein was my problem. I was blaming "overpowered" or "broken" mechanics on the other players abusing them, rather than the fact that, if you put me in any competitive FPS game, I'm mediocre at best. I've just never been great at them, mostly because I shift the blame away from myself to avoid the fact that I'll remain mediocre without actively. learning and practicing. Going forward, I'm taking this advice to heart; change what I can, let go of what I can't and just enjoy a gambit or crucible for the fun it provides, not how tilted it gets me. Again, excellent video. I've got a few friends that would benefit from seeing this too. Well done.

Question is kinda late but I've just been getting into your channel and it's really great, every solution you provide to problems is exactly what I need Okay yeah the question, what sniper do you use in the video?
One of the biggest things I use to maintain my chill is keeping in mind you die because you're either not focused or you're just being outplayed. A lot of the time it's stuff you can manage if you identify what you're doing wrong. Sometimes it's just a matter of experience. I can't expect myself to do great against a 5 KD player in Trials when I barely have a 1 KD, but that doesn't mean I need to be discouraged. Me losing the match is just proof I'm getting better, and when I beat the 5 KD I have proven I have overcome that hurdle. You only stop getting better when you stop trying to overcome the next hurdle.

I’m here cause I’m tired of teammates constantly getting in my way when I try to get to cover after being shot at and on low heath and being put against amazing players on console.
The effect of this video is certainly apparent. After merely watching this video, I began to realise that I blame either the game or my team way too often. I've taken a much more calm, logical approach to games that tilt me; judging what I could do differently after losing a fight and attempting to implement that next life/round/game. Can't thank Nomad enough for this and I definitely want to try actually writing that list of things that tilt me and try to remove them from my system.
I dont ever get tilted by anything the enemy team does. It's usually because my team doing things either to undermine my efforts, or taking my ability to control my outcomes from me. And its instant. People pushing me into lanes or grenades, passing through my line of sight while I'm trying to dps, picking up 1 or 2 motes when someone else has 14 and only needs that 1 more... I get super hot. If I play rumble I'm good. But team mates make me crazy.
do you think I should keep using the khostov 7g for season 11? it's my favorite assault but I got a feeling it wont compete with weapons that will be added later on
I don’t fear no man.. *leans in* but that thing... *looks at high impact fusions* it tilts me... For real tho, I don’t get tilted hardly ever but when someone uses high impacts fusions I damn near loose it. And while I completely agree with your points there is a certain element of righteous anger, as it were. They shouldn’t BE that strong and I’m not mad at the player for using it but rather Bungie for allowing them to literally only use their special weapon and super to win a match. Also I can’t conceivably come up with a fusions hard-counter. And I’m honestly surprised they aren’t used everywhere my only theory as to why is that they aren’t satisfying to use like a shotgun or sniper is.
Hope your anti-tilt journey is going well! Vid helped me for sure. Wanted to give my thoughts on the fusions, since they don't really bother me. Baiting a shot, peeking afterward, can work really well. TV had the cool idea of making the charge noise louder so that type of counter play is easier. I would say I've seen people just shoulder charge or just shotgun and do well (admittedly, that really irritates me). Are you on PC? A number of things can have more range than normal because of the mouse thing. Anyway, cheers!
Things that I can control will annoy me, but it's the shit that's out of my hands that's just beyond frustrating. Probably number one in that list would be playing against snipers in the current sandbox, mainly because of how flinch works at the moment. I'll be strafing, crouching, beaming the dude in the head with high caliber rounds, and bonk, I lose. Was it because he hit a gorgeous shot through flinch? No. Flinch pushed him onto my head, and he pressed R2 blindly hoping it would do so. Me doing the right thing is the wrong option. So that leads to me literally never wanting to challenge snipers, extending matches far longer than they should go on for, making the game overall more boring, and more frustrating.
when i'm tilted against teammates doing dumb mistakes leading to me dying, i think about how i did these mistakes at least one time when i was a blueberry and i then feel sympathic towards them and advice them in chat. However if one of them tells me he's not doing any mistake and i'm too stupid to die , i really feel the tilt.
For me it's just trying to complete objectives and being unable to. Like getting kill immediately when popping your super and the only reason you're playing is to get super kills.
There's two things that annoy me the most one is when people have such a bad connection that they teleport and i miss the shot/melee. i know its one of the uncontrollable things but it just doesn't make it any less annoying to deal with and the other would be people using anteaus with MT and basically being able to use MT as a shotgun with infinite range
“Let it go” WELL, I can’t let that ice warlock skill where it freezes you in place go because EVERYONE USES IT, it’s annoying, can’t do anything about it. But it still happens, so you can’t let go of something that keeps on happening, over, and over and over.
I know I suck at this game. I know it. I can't play on a controller. This little thing doesn't do what I want it to do. Doesn't move the way I want it to. That's what triggers me, I'm so limited on a controller, I want to play on a pc so badly because I know I'm going to be good. I just know it.
I get upset as well. I try to stay to calm. There are just those times in comp when one person is riding your butt in the middle of a gun fight limiting your movement for strafing. Man that erks me lol
Honestly the worst part of PvP to me is that feeling of “wow I am making no difference whatsoever.” Even on good games where my team and I are racking up kills, I hate looking at the leaderboard and seeing that I only have half the kills my teammates do, since it suggests that if I wasn’t in that game nothing would have changed. While the PvE goes above and beyond to make you feel powerful, like your actions have impact, PvP has this innate ability to make me feel like I’d be better off quitting and going off to do patrols. My favorite games are when I’m at least equal with my teammates (even if our asses are getting kicked), or when I’m stuck by myself against a team of three, and manage to score high despite facing three shotgun apes at once.
I appreciate all of this, and im probably gonna leave another comment once im done watching, but whatever you say: Eternity is in no way optimized for any 6v6/respawn gamemode. Fuck that map
I'm willing to accept that a lot of the maps I hate are just bad experiences or not knowing them. Except for Burnout, that map is just straight up bad in most modes.
They could just add a playlist for new light players only(aka anyone who don't own forsaken/shadow keep) so you can't encounter any broken exotics from those dlc e.g One eyed mask
The only reason I'm tilted at Felwinter's is because Bungie released a statement they wanted to reduce FOMO, released a kiosk, then proceeded to not include said weapon. Also WotW and Outbreak were also not released either. So where is the reduction in FOMO? It is my own fault I didn't have internet but it isn't my fault Bungie didn't release said weapons and won't do so until next season. Also as far as I know Felwinter's will be sunset at the end of next season.
I get mad at hand cannons. I don't know what's wrong with me. All of a sudden I cant use them. I miss easy head shots and then get what on by a guy using the same as me
Im pissed that sometimes i miss my shots everytime, idk why but no matter how easy the engagement is i would miss my shot, but sometimes i hit my shots really well and im angry because i dont know what is my problem, please answer if you can
Happens a lot to me too, sometimes I score a few triple headshots or double head 1 bodies but sometimes I just miss almost every single bullet out of 9... weird shit. I have unticked enhanced pointer precision in my mouse settings to see if it would help, it has.. but not too much.
Can anyone tell me what scout rifle he's using in the first clip? I really like the sights on it, but am fairly new to D2 so I don't know a lot of the guns.
It was the seasonal scout from season of undying. it is unobtainable. It was one shotting because of a specific gamemode that makes your guns do much more damage.

Anyway, cheers!
thanks for sharing this stuff you make my day
Things that I can control will annoy me, but it's the shit that's out of my hands that's just beyond frustrating.
Old video but it still applies, My anger is very hard to subside but i hope these thoughts will work out
There's two things that annoy me the most one is when people have such a bad connection that they teleport and i miss the shot/melee. i know its one of the uncontrollable things but it just doesn't make it any less annoying to deal with and the other would be people using anteaus with MT and basically being able to use MT as a shotgun with infinite range
My issue is most of my external triggers I blame on myself in games and in real experiences. However I will try but it will take a long time
I will blame myself for everything and nobody can stop me
You should not do that.
Thanks for the great vid.. It helps me a lot..
This video is better than any therapy I've ever paid for
“Let it go” WELL, I can’t let that ice warlock skill where it freezes you in place go because EVERYONE USES IT, it’s annoying, can’t do anything about it. But it still happens, so you can’t let go of something that keeps on happening, over, and over and over.
OEM Smash MT Recluse Titans should be on your list
Oh why I cannot like this video more than once...
Just found this channel. Hope more people do :)
Breakout stresses me out because of the 10 second respawns time and...
WAIT HOW DID THEY GET THEIR SUPER AGAIN!
The Blasphemy who spills Mountain Dew
what was that gun at the start that was letting you see the outline of players?
great video!
Just subbed my man
I know I suck at this game.
This video is relevant especially now.
I appreciate all of this, and im probably gonna leave another comment once im done watching, but whatever you say: Eternity is in no way optimized for any 6v6/respawn gamemode. Fuck that map
Thanks man, I needed this. I love destiny but I have a short temper.
This is what git gud should mean.
What is that scout rifle this man is one tapping with?
I genuinely hate the crucible because I feel that I’m like hopelessly bad and I usually go through games with only 1 or 2 final blows
Excellent
One word that tilts me... erentil
When you are driving on the street do you have to avoid the moon? Anger is not an external entity that you go up to and hit. You become angry.
First of all, what?
Bad maps upset me the most
I get mad at hand cannons. I don't know what's wrong with me. All of a sudden I cant use them. I miss easy head shots and then get what on by a guy using the same as me
Im pissed that sometimes i miss my shots everytime, idk why but no matter how easy the engagement is i would miss my shot, but sometimes i hit my shots really well and im angry because i dont know what is my problem, please answer if you can
Happens a lot to me too, sometimes I score a few triple headshots or double head 1 bodies but sometimes I just miss almost every single bullet out of 9... weird shit. I have unticked enhanced pointer precision in my mouse settings to see if it would help, it has.. but not too much.
stoicism
Can anyone tell me what scout rifle he's using in the first clip? I really like the sights on it, but am fairly new to D2 so I don't know a lot of the guns.
It was the seasonal scout from season of undying. it is unobtainable. It was one shotting because of a specific gamemode that makes your guns do much more damage.
I hate very good snipers and I got hate mail when I use bastion and gnawing hunger combo 😁
what can i do about getting mad due to internet causing fps drops that cause me to die 90% of the time
