    Dude! The wheels....! I will admit, despite how much I love keeping my old cars in the best mechanical condition and how EASY the Quickjack is to use (5 years ownership now), I often will drag my feet on the "next service" I am doing , thinking about the moving and nudging of the jacks to get them aligned. You have a brilliant idea here. BRILLIANT! Thank you, friend!

    Nice comparison! I debated swapping my SLX for the TL. Bendpak will also just sell you the TL frames if you don’t need all of the other stuff. Another tip, when using mine on any type of asphalt or concrete surface I put padding under the unit to prevent tearing up the frames. I took matting that you lay under Gym equipment and cut it down the middle giving me a piece for each frame. Works great and the casters will roll over top of it, no problems. Great video, thanks! 👍🏻

      I have to agree mate. I would at least put some spare wheels under the wheels of the car on the hoist in case it let go!!! I had a car fall on me once, i don't want that to ever happen again!!!!

    My new 5000TL barely fits my 2005 C6 corvette. I have to keep the rubber lifting blocks as CLOSE together as possible There is actually a little hangover off the pucks. Not so much as to be dangerous. Makes it a little difficult to get the jacks set just right to get as little hangover as possible.

Strongly recommend you make this fitment issue know on your website before someone gets hurt trying to use it on a newer Corvette.

    The Quickjacks are great if you're lucky and get one without a defective air cylinder. If you do get one of those you're screwed - the company will 100% not stand behind their product. They'll claim the air-assist down isn't "necessary to the function of the lift". Really? So if one side has air assist down and the other doesn't, and they drop unevenly, that's safe? And then when the car vehicle drops to the ground ground and one side of the lift goes straight to the full down position while the other... doesn't. You need to wait... and wait... and wait for it to drop with no weight on it. Quickjack will claim this "is normal operation" and that "it will get better over time". If you invest a massive amount of time trying to get them to stand behind their product they will, eventually, after burning through every once of customer goodwill, send out a new cylinder. Yay! Until you get the replacement and the freakin' air side is literally capped off. Like intentionally made unusable. That's not a fix guys. Then they'll claim that the engineers decided the down-assist wasn't necessary and that they've changed the design on future models. But I didn't buy a future model with less functionality. I bought the current model with exactly the functionality I wanted, was promised, and paid for. Whatever. Too much time wasted on it already - I've written off the entire company as another skanky marketing hack with no integrity. I still have it in my shop, but it low-key pisses me off every time I look at it.

      Stop being so soft. I bought a set used for $900 and the air assist doesn't work. Couple extra seconds donesn't hurt. Clean up work area while waiting additional 10 seconds . just make sure you bleed the air out both sides. grow a pari.

    What is that air cylinder doing? I have a 2003 330ci cab in a carport resting during the winter. And i want to use the lift as a stand during 5 months. Sweden up North.. I could check and see if the oil ( no pressure) is leaking during that time, but what happends if the air pressure drops? One side of the car is close to the wall, so i wont have access to do more than release the lock with a broomstick under the car from the other side. But then the rest have to work to lift the car so it can be released.
    Any idea what the air cylinder is doing? It is supposed to be filled at ground level, so crawling under the car to fill it, is no option.

    • @MotorsportInspired
      @MotorsportInspired  Год назад

      Hi, air cylinder is to help lift lower the lift when you press down button it will still lower if no air but it will take longer

    • @hakan8997
      @hakan8997 Год назад

      @@MotorsportInspired AaaHhhA! Its the last bit when the car gets to ground level the pressure is doing it´s real job. I have one of the small hydraulic log splitters, and it only work one way and springs pulling it back. And those springs really make noice. Some WD40 or 556 makes life better.
      The more expensive ones working 2 ways is alot faster. But on a car lift its overkill. But that air cylinder really saves space compared to springs.
      So i just have to let the car down in time before the first ride. Then the QL will be down to earth even without any air pressure. Its the M sport so its lowered from factory. I will put some blocks under the wheels so i get a
      few CM extra to install/remove the wall side lift. I have to use blocks to use any jack, exept the original that comes with the car. I have my small winter car "hyunday Gets" and a big snowblower in the carport, so i want the bmw out of the way.

    The jacks are facing the wrong direction. The ends with the vertical supports should be under the heavier front end of the car.

    • @MotorsportInspired
      @MotorsportInspired  2 года назад +4

      Car is 50/50 weight distribution so it does not matter, and per quickjack you can use them facing either way, when lifting I sat on radiator support coupe times in the beginning that extra 180 lbs on the nose and it’s very sturdy won’t even budge, if this was a tuck obviously you have to place them closer to the front where most of the weight is but still you can lift them this way as well.
