      You took the words out of my mouth. Well done and enjoy. And because you're obsessed, now you can start polishing the underside of the ZR1. While you were sliding them under the Vette I'm pretty sure I can't do that on my GS. I'm probably lower you than you now because of the coil-overs I have on it. 😢 Everything is a give and take and sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. But the QuickJack is definitely a good product and several of friends have them. I think some of them can center the QuicJack and drive over them and then pull them out to under the frame. Save the Wave 🙋‍♂

    Purchased the Quickjacks last Fall. Used them to install the Borla axel-back system. Noticed also that they do move the nose forward while raising. Like you, did it with the garage door open. Also purchased a kit to stow the installed hoses and now have casters to roll the jacks around. I have not lowered my Grandsport so no issues getting the jacks under it. Thanks for another interesting & helpful video Justin. Bruce

    6:11 don't you want to crack that "bleed screw" when they are pointed up so that all the hydraulic fluid flows to the bottom of the cylinders and the air in the system is at the top where the bleed screw is. Sort of like bleeding brake calipers.

    • @executiveinvestments

      The cylinder IS pointed up when bleeding. No idea what you are saying. When the Jack it dropped down the cylinders are pointed up.

      @@achristian7015 ur a clown. The Jack is in the up position. You don’t bleed it in the up position kid. When he drops the lift the bleed screw side is pointed UP. Why do you think he has blocks under that side? Take it from me, someone that has put together this system. You are WRONG and clueless.

    • @executiveinvestments
      @executiveinvestments 2 месяца назад

      @@achristian7015 what do you call the bleeder screw at 6:50? Is that pointed up? Yes. Kid, you couldn’t wait that 10 seconds for him to show the bleeding. Hence you embarrassed yourself by saying something you are completely wrong about.

    • @achristian7015
      @achristian7015 2 месяца назад

      @@executiveinvestments And at 6:22 where is that bleed screw where it is clearly visible? Below the rest of the system. Duhhh! The trouble with you over-educated types is you cannot reason. A bleed screw has to be at the highest point in the system and not below the rest of the cylinder. Now if he tilted that end higher than the rest of the system, he would get the air out faster. On my real lift, the bleed screws are at the top where the cylinders are vertically mounted.

    luv the QJ...one note of caution. When doing a job that requires you to compress the suspension while in the air, be CAREFUL !
    With the car on the QJs and compressing the suspension with a say a floor jack...you can TIP the vehicle.
    Ask me why I know 😑...caught the issue before going beyond point of no return

    • @HorsePowerObsessed

      @@HorsePowerObsessed The job was replacing rear springs on a front engine BMW and was I compressing the rear suspension with a floor jack (upward moment). The QJ, positioned on low height mark, rotated on the front hinge point. And analyzing it, think of how the QJ lifts, the two platforms are offset to the front, thus their is more front overhang.
      I think if it was compressing the front suspension, it would take significantly more due to lever arm length to the rear at the same setting

  • @user-dq8ij1tz4w
    @user-dq8ij1tz4w 9 месяцев назад +2

    I have the 7000TL and I'd say it's ok, but only if you're lucky and get one without a defective air cylinder. If you do get one of those you're screwed - the company will 100% not stand behind their product. They'll claim the air-assist down isn't "necessary to the function of the lift". Really? So if one side has air assist down and the other doesn't, and they drop unevenly, that's safe? And then when the vehicle drops to the ground and one side of the lift goes straight to the full down position while the other... doesn't. You need to wait... and wait... and wait for it to drop with no weight on it. Quickjack will claim this "is normal operation" and that "it will get better over time". If you invest a massive amount of time trying to get them to stand behind their product they will, eventually, after burning through every once of customer goodwill, send out a new cylinder. Yay! Until you get the replacement and the freakin' air side is literally capped off. Like intentionally made unusable. That's not a fix guys. Then they'll claim that the engineers decided the down-assist wasn't necessary and that they've changed the design on future models. But I didn't buy a future model with less functionality. I bought the current model with exactly the functionality I wanted, was promised, and paid for. Whatever. Too much time wasted on it already - I've written off the entire company as another skanky marketing hack with no integrity.
    I still have it in my shop, but the company worked very hard to make me regret my purchase and it low-key pisses me off every time I look at it. And honestly the setup is inconvenient enough that even when I do pull it out - warts and all - it happens very rarely. Only when I have a longer term project where I know the vehicle will be on the lift for a week or two. Definitely not for things like oil or tire changes. It's just way quicker to use a floor jack, or even ramps.

    • @sunfield113
      @sunfield113 8 месяцев назад

      Oh no! That sounds like a terrible experience:( for whats its worth maybe I can teach you some things about the QuickJack: The air bottles literally have no function when lowering a QuickJack with weight. The air bottles are inflated with approximately 50 PSI generating a little force downwards, while a vehicle will generate 1500 PSI downwards. Even with smaller objects like boats, lawnmowers etc you do not need the air bottles.
      Meaning there is not any difference when lowering UNTIL the vehicle hits the ground and the QuickJack frames have to lower by them selfs. That’s when the air pressure might help a little. However over the year the seals of the cylinders will wear in and the jack will come down easily without this air bottle help. And before that happens, you can just simply push with your foot on the frame (bc you are already standing there) and it will come down all the way immediately:
      Now personally ;) I would go with a low viscosity fluid (like iso 32 hydraulic) which seems to flow a lot better. Also if you are expiring unequally lowering WITH weight, you might want to check for air, obstructions and other issues. Its usually some teflon you’ve put in a fitting by mistake. You can always try to switch hydraulic hoses to see if an obstruction moves to another location.
      Good luck buddy, can’t be that hard!

      This is a C7 Corvette ZR1 and come stock with that bumper. You could find replica bumpers out there, though.

    That sealant is trash. definitely use Teflon.

      Yep I can confirm I ended up having to use Teflon after all but two fittings leaked on me.

      Definitely do NOT use Teflon. You will be sorry when Teflon particles clog ur lines.

    Not getting into it, but its overpriced for what it actually is. A full 2 post lift is actually cheaper if your garage can accommodate one. The actual price is about half or less for these. Just saying, and im not advertising because many consumers might find the convenience of this quick jack offer better suited for them.

      “If your garage can accommodate one” is the largest problem because most garage are not large enough for that

      yeah, but you can't take that 2 post to the track or your buddies house etc. I doubt you can get a 2 post that is worth anything for ~700 bucks which is half of what a QJ sells for.

    too shaky video of steps, focus is off of the key steps - especially the thread sealant and the positioning of the elbow fitting, probably the most important part of this.
