That was me. I started well and made a mistake just 1 minute or so into the test at a complex roundabout. The rest well but that one mistake failed me. It was as serious oh. You’ve explained this so much better than most, everyone told me to line my mirror up with line but this the middle of the door helps so much more. I have my test tomorrow and this and parrell parking are the ones I’m most nervous for. Thankyou for the video

@@rufaidahkaduji1646 I have driving lessons Thursday and my test was Monday so Friday-Sunday I just didn’t drive and didn’t think about it. On the day & just went over my manoeuvres, even if you think you fail just keep driving good. Pretend it’s a driving lesson
Frr test tmmrw 😮 saw someone even hit the curb and thought they failed but steel passed so u never know remeber your instructor will more or less be more harsh than an examiner as they want you to be more than test ready ensuring u pass. It all comes down to the person though.
I used this method, As it's what my instructor taught me, However the bays were angled in my test. So I got it completely wrong, Luckily I knew that so I kept going forward, Reversing backwards, About 3 or 4 times before getting lined up just by my own judgement. And ended up completing the move in the bay lines. Anyway I passed with 3 minors, And only one of them was for my control in the reverse bay park

To make it simple, pull up to the bay around the middle I’d say or a bit further out, turn away so the back of your car is facing the bay, and just reverse and turn into it. If it’s too cramped just shuffle. This method is good for only the test but not for real life. You’re welcome.

Hi Mark, am I correct that we should aim to place the passenger-side of the car roughly in the middle of the road at the start of this manoeuvre before reversing? That's what it looks like at 1:12.
These are all good tips. Especially the blind spot mirror. I have never had much trouble until I got my MG4 which is not only wider than I am used to but rear visibility is AWFUL, just can't see where the car is.

Hi Mark, been watching this video quite a few times now..im learning in a suzuki calerio and my instructor wont give me an idea of my reference point of where to aim for..even when i keep asking and pointing out this is the only manoeuvre im really struggling with..is there any tips you can give me on this?
Hey, I always encourage people to listen to their instructor as they may be a reason why they are telling you something. But, if you really want a reference point, just try the parking a times and each take make a mental note of where the 3rd line from the bay that you want to park in is in relation to your car. It could be by the middle of the door, near the front of the door or the back of the front door depending on how you sit in the car.

On your test can you go into the bays on your right aswell, or will it affect on coming traffic?
You can go into any bay you like as long as you do so safely.

It's roughly the same. It's also about how you sit as well. Have you tried using this reference point yet?
