I like how the random guy just smiles and laughs alongside Jon when Jon starts acting excited. Like, he has no clue what the fuck is going on, but he's still trying his best to accommodate Jon and help him.
Fun Fact: Jason David Frank, aka Tommy Oliver (The Green Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and later some other colors), was originally going to play the main character of this show and even shot a pilot.
Reasons why it never went off was because: 1.) Choujinki Metalder, the show used in both Saban's Cybertron and VR Troopers, was rather short and had like 39 episodes. 2.) Power Rangers' popularity caused a huge craze in the Sentai/Team-based genre in America so some toy companies wanted another team based show like PR thus they added the two main characters from Spielban into the mix, then by the time they used up the Metalder footage they have Ryan the Shaider suit and used some of the Space Sheriff trilogy footage. 3.) Hasbro had already Trademarked the term "Cybertron" for Transformers at the time. 4.) I'll let you watch the pilot trailer and see for yourself.
Also, this show is based in 2 super sentai shows, one called Metal Hero thats what the Ryan Steel character is based on, and the other 2 are from another sentai show that is about 2 alien princes that escaped their planet at a young age from an evil empress that destroyed their homeworld, Metal Hero and this other show did a cross over at one point and then when trying to bring over Metal Hero to this side of the world they changed to what was the version Jason David Frank was trying to do, but it failed so Saban rebranded it to VR Troopers to cash in the VR craze of the time and mixed it with that other show to have a similar plot to other Saban's action shows of the time like Power Rangers and Beetleborgs. Funny enough that Beetleborgs also its another super sentai show called Jūkō B-Fighter, that roughly translates to "Combat Beetle" and even more ironic it was part of the Metal Hero series back in japan so Beetleborgs is somewhat linked to VR Troopers in a strange way, that's in how some enemies from VR Troopers can be found on Beetleborgs as well but in a few chapters. The Jason David Frank pilot of what once was know as "Cybertron" and later on changed to VR Troopers its on RUclips so anybody can see how different VR Troopers was in its first stages of development.
The weird part is that the show that this is based off of, the Metal Heroes series, revolves around *robots.* Seriously. I think the main character is Kikaider.
Not teamed up, it's just splicing two shows into one episode because both shows were different from each other. That's why Ryan is not in the same shot as JB and Kaitlin when fighting the monsters. You don't see JB and Kaitlin fighting Metalder monsters and Ryan fighting Spielban monsters because costumes for these shows were destroyed by Toei after filming these shows in the 80s.

So fun fact for those of you who didn't know: VR troopers was a combined adaptation of the 3 Japanese Superhero series of the 1980s which is "Jikuu Senshi Spielban" "Choujinki Metalder" and "Uchuu Keiji Shaider" of the "Metal Hero" franchise (A franchise that lasted for like 17 years)
Another fun fact that in "Jikuu Senshi Spielban" the main baddie of that series was portrayed by none other than the late Machiko Soga a.k.a *Rita Repulsa from the first season of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers* while the main baddie in "Choujinki Metalder" was portrayed by Shinji Todo a.k.a the legendary *JAPANESE SPIDER-MAN*

Naomi Morinaga, who played Annie in Shaider was also a hero by the name of Helen, who was the series' first secondary Metal Hero and she was initially a hero first then temporarily became part of Waller Empire because her dad was Colonel Icebot's counterpart was part of it, then she returned to a hero side under Helen Lady, same suit as Diana but with her scythe.

I like how the random guy just smiles and laughs alongside Jon when Jon starts acting excited. Like, he has no clue what the fuck is going on, but he's still trying his best to accommodate Jon and help him.
Fun Fact: Jason David Frank, aka Tommy Oliver (The Green Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and later some other colors), was originally going to play the main character of this show and even shot a pilot.

Reasons why it never went off was because:
1.) Choujinki Metalder, the show used in both Saban's Cybertron and VR Troopers, was rather short and had like 39 episodes.
2.) Power Rangers' popularity caused a huge craze in the Sentai/Team-based genre in America so some toy companies wanted another team based show like PR thus they added the two main characters from Spielban into the mix, then by the time they used up the Metalder footage they have Ryan the Shaider suit and used some of the Space Sheriff trilogy footage.
3.) Hasbro had already Trademarked the term "Cybertron" for Transformers at the time.
4.) I'll let you watch the pilot trailer and see for yourself.

Also, this show is based in 2 super sentai shows, one called Metal Hero thats what the Ryan Steel character is based on, and the other 2 are from another sentai show that is about 2 alien princes that escaped their planet at a young age from an evil empress that destroyed their homeworld, Metal Hero and this other show did a cross over at one point and then when trying to bring over Metal Hero to this side of the world they changed to what was the version Jason David Frank was trying to do, but it failed so Saban rebranded it to VR Troopers to cash in the VR craze of the time and mixed it with that other show to have a similar plot to other Saban's action shows of the time like Power Rangers and Beetleborgs.
Funny enough that Beetleborgs also its another super sentai show called Jūkō B-Fighter, that roughly translates to "Combat Beetle" and even more ironic it was part of the Metal Hero series back in japan so Beetleborgs is somewhat linked to VR Troopers in a strange way, that's in how some enemies from VR Troopers can be found on Beetleborgs as well but in a few chapters.
The Jason David Frank pilot of what once was know as "Cybertron" and later on changed to VR Troopers its on RUclips so anybody can see how different VR Troopers was in its first stages of development.

Not teamed up, it's just splicing two shows into one episode because both shows were different from each other. That's why Ryan is not in the same shot as JB and Kaitlin when fighting the monsters. You don't see JB and Kaitlin fighting Metalder monsters and Ryan fighting Spielban monsters because costumes for these shows were destroyed by Toei after filming these shows in the 80s.
