New bread machine owner here, I followed your recipe exactly for the 1 1/2 lb loaf and it turned out perfectly and tastes absolutely amazing!! I will be making this one again without question and I'm excited to try your other recipes! Just for reference I thought I would mention my machine is the Compact Cuisinart and I used the basic white setting with no trouble at all. Thank you for an amazing recipe!
April, I’m thrilled this recipe worked well in your new bread machine! I’m so glad! It really is delicious bread, isn’t it?! Thanks so much for coming back to let me know, I appreciate that greatly! Have lots of fun with your new bread machine!
Hi Robyn I just found your channel recently. Made your white bread dough cycle the other day. I want to say it was the best bread. My hubby also said it was good. Going to try all your other bread recipes. Really easy. Thank you so much!!!
Susan, I am so glad you thought so! Thank you so much for coming back after making your bread to tell me you enjoyed it! I'm so glad it turned out so well. I agree, I love that bread! Thanks so much for being here and for watching! I really appreciate it!
Wow this is like 3 recipes in one day! What a treat to run across these links from other videos today. My health issues cause what I will say, “tired days.” I can do minimum things, but that’s it. I do planning on most of these types of days, rest and get organized on lists, groceries that will be needed, bills, and lots of checking in with family. Now I have 4 bread recipes all together that can be shopped for and then I’ll be prepared to bake! So grateful for the contributions of other subscribers and their comments also. So very helpful! This has been a great Sabbath day, thank you Robyn and Liz for this one! See you soon! 🎄🥰🇺🇸
I'm sorry you're health causes you to have days like that. Maybe it's a blessing to slow down and have days where you can get those necessities done, too. I feel like I'm at the run-run-run stage of my life! Enjoy your baking when you feel up to it again soon! I am so glad you're enjoying it and it has become something you look forward to. We all need things like that in our lives!
No not confusing just questioning. I’ll wait till the ball has formed then add items in. Thank you. Your white bread using the dough cycle has been a huge hit among my family. A great bread recipe - THANK YOU for sharing. 😊
I am so glad your family is enjoying the white bread! I just love hearing that. This cinnamon raisin bread is a nice treat. I hope it works well for you!
Those are both some of my favorites and now you've got me wanting to make another loaf of this cinnamon raisin bread tomorrow! Thanks so much for being here! I appreciate it!
What a brilliant idea to add the cinnamon to the raisins! I usually just toss my raisins or dates in flour to separate them, but now I will use this cinnamon trick ( or other spices too). Also, I have been using maple syrup (Costco brand) instead of honey for these types of bread. Love the flavor maple syrup gives to baked goods. Thanks for the video, well done. 😊
Thanks Pattiann! It is a good trick. I’ve been thinking I need to make a maple bread video, but I’ve been out of pure maple syrup and have a lot of honey in my food storage, so I’ve been using lots of honey lately. I do love the taste of maple in my breads, too, so I’ll have to grab some next time I run to Costco. Thanks so much for your support of my channel! I so appreciate you always watching and commenting!
I’ll have to make that, in the mountains for 4 days and it’s sweat shirt weather up here. Trying to get some extra stock in the basement for my friend that’s on a fixed income so she have food if she needs it and can’t afford groceries. It’s ashamed that our seniors are hurting the worst in this economy and they don’t get extra help. My daughter will be dead 2 years the 17th and she helped so many in need. In her honor I’ll help as many as I can. I hope she’ll be smiling down from heaven
Hi Liza! I love how you're choosing to honor your daughter. That is the very best thing you can do to remember her and help others at the same time. Nothing makes you feel better than service to others. I'm positive she really is smiling about the work you're doing here because of her. Enjoy your time in the mountains! It sounds crisp and cool and I bet it's so peaceful!
Robyn, do you ever use Ceylon Cinnamon. For me it’s a game changer. Plus it’s actually healthy 😊. I’m not suggesting plain ole cinnamon isn’t healthy, but I’ve learned a lot about cinnamon and will never go back to normal cinnamon from the grocery store.
NO! I’ve never even heard of it but I’m going to go research it! I have more cinnamon in my home than I can use in probably 2 years, but now I’ve gotta look into it! lol. Thanks!!
Hi Robyn, I am new to your channel. I received my Christmas present yesterday...a bread machine. The very first bread I made was this cinnamon rasin bread. I have a Neretva machine. Anyway, it only has one mixing paddle. The bread came out dense and most of the rasins were on the bottom and the top of the bread, almost non existent in the middle. I figure it was due to habing only one mixing paddle. I was a commercial baker for ten years in my thirties. I figure I may need to take the bread out of my mixer after the first rise, knock it down, and knead the raisins in, also would you recommend adding a little more oil and honey? The bread tasted good and I did coat my rasins with the 2 tbsp cinnamon like the recipe said. Just wanted to ask you if you think this is a better alternative than baking it on the bread pan? Love your videos, i want to make several of your recipies. Kind regards Jackalyn ❤
Hi Jackalyn! Thanks for being here and trying this recipe. I have made this in my single-paddled bread machines, too, and mine turns out well that way, too. I'm more inclined to suggest that if you try this recipe again in the future, add a bit less flour than this time or increase the liquids just a bit. Usually denseness is caused by too much flour. You want it to err on the almost too wet/sticky than too dry/dense, if that makes sense. This cinammon raisin bread is denser than my other yeast breads, and that is just the nature of this bread. It could also be caused by not using fresh yeast. I just realized you said you were a commercial baker so you know these things! Also, I have used many bread machines over the years and some bake lighter, fluffier bread, and some bake denser, harder bread...so I'd suggest making a plain yeast bread and see how that comes out. I love to use my bread machine dough cycle and bake my bread in the oven, I get lighter, softer, fluffier bread that way, so yes, I'd definitely recommend trying this recipe using the dough cycle (you could add your mixins at the beep or after the dough cycle is complete when you knock your dough down and shape it into a loaf). I sure hope all this helps you in some way. You are going to absolutely love using your new bread machine! That was a fantastic Christmas present! Let me know if you have any more questions Jackalyn. Good luck!
Thank you so much for your response. I just made a honey wheat bread and I took it out of the machine after the first rise, knocked it down and kneaded a little to shape the loaf. I did the final proof on my counter then baked it. It looks fantastic. So I am going to do your bread recipe again (after we finish off the first one), the next one I will do the same thing as this whole wheat bread. Thanks so very much for your reply. If you have a mix-in signal, add them then, or add them about 10-15 minutes after you start the machine. The gluten needs to develop a bit in the dough before the mix-ins are added. But, if that is too confusing, add them at the beginning and it should turn out fine!

I don't have an exact recipe for the mixer, other than I'd put all the ingredients into the mixer to knead for 6-8 minutes on speed 2 (or low/medium), except mix the raisins/cinnamon in during the last minute. That is because the gluten needs to develop during the kneading and sometimes additions can cut the gluten strands. Then cover and let the dough rise for 45 mintues to an hour. Punch down and shape into a loaf and put it into a well greased loaf pan. Let rise about 30 minutes, and bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. I sure hope this helps Linda!!
