yep, usually it's not worth it to weld the frame back up and new laws actually make it illegal it unless you are a dealer to weld on a frame

pretty much. it would cost more to fix the frame on that dakota than the dakota was worth just for starters, and that's assuming the frame isn't way too far gone that it actually can be fixed. Where i'm at, the only requirement is that the frame is "within spec", and they're not really a stickler about it unless it is an out of province(I'm Canadian) vehicle to be registered here.

Nope, my 93 dakota had a swiss cheese freme in the back, I cut it off, welded 2x4 box steel, narrowed the rear, and put a 500 hp small block chevy in it. Now it does wheelies.

  • @johnz8210
    @johnz8210 4 года назад

That was a lot of work. Good outcome.
Just a thought, maybe do the underneath stuff first in the future, so coolant and other liquids aren't dripping on you the whole time you're under there. Also make sure to loosen the trans mount to crossmember nuts/bolts so the trans has the ability to slide rearwards - this helps make room for the flywheel and alignment pins to clear the bellhousing when lifting the engine up. You want the trans to move rearwards about 1/2 to 3/4 inch. That will help when the engine is going back in, too. You can get the engine on the mounts, not worry about dragging on the torque converter, and deal with aligning the trans easier.

Hi Rural Vermonter, good you again included a short radio sound-bite, there's clear spiritual content, paranormal EVP in English and in Danish, radio behaving like a spirit box - this is what I hear:
5:37 'First class is miserable', 5:39 'Witches, why?', 'With everything action counts', 5:41 'Pas på' ('Beware'), '14 times', 'Åndernes' ('belonging to the spirits'), 5:42 'To learn more'.
Now here's an attempt at a Norse shamanistic interpretation:
We know paranormal stuff will occur, spontaneously, once in a while - no need to fear it, but rather see it as natural. There are multiple levels of reality, multiple dimensions in the world and the Internet is a dimension in itself; as the Internet is a parallel reality, not actual reality, the camera in a way can act as a portal, a passage to even deeper, normally unconscious levels of mental energy.
Notice the time of this spiritual manifestation, it happens right at the moment when you experience a burst of emotion, the love for your dog. Spirits can use all sorts of emotional energy to appear. Here it's not fear, but the opposite end of the emotional scale, the positive side. So what we hear here are positive spirit helpers, spirit guides, and as I see it the content is meant to be understood both on a personal and on a collective level.
It's one part concrete messages and one part metaphors, symbols:
To begin with we hear 'First class is miserable', referring to, I think, the pandemic situation; almost all airlines are shut down. The business is bleeding cash, but more importantly, seen from a spiritual standpoint, Nature is doing great! The air is cleaner, the birds are able to fill the sky, the climate recovering, amazingly fast, showing us that climate action in fact is possible.
Second EVP says 'Witches, why?' Spirit is asking wise women, witches, and the answer is - as I just concluded - 'With everything action counts'. It is indeed possible to do something about the destruction of our Earth habitat if we HAVE TO, like now, the whole lock-down situation happening. It's not too late to fix the climate problems.
Then at 5:41 we're told 'Beware!' - meaning 'be alert', 'be observant', 'be aware'. That's one for you, and one for everybody as well - both personal and collective.
Then we hear '14 times' - I think meaning 'not 13 times' or 'more than 13 times'. This may refer to the figure 13 as a digit symbolizing misfortune, and 14 then stands for 'going past misfortune', 'overcoming the miserable' - a message of HOPE.
Finally we're told that this has been a spiritual message 'belonging to the spirits', and that it has been given to you and your viewers as 'to learn more', to become wiser.
This was my respectful analysis, keep the good content coming, nice documentation of your sustainable recycling of machinery, which is good from a climate point of view; the best of course would be to switch to all electric vehicles, but until this becomes less expensive, maintaining, restoring, re-using cars, trucks and lawnmowers absolutely makes sense. I like your calm approach to work, it comes across as almost Zen-like. Thank you from strong Asatru medium:
The Völve Ulrik aka Heid Gandreiter, the white shaman of Denmark and the Lands of the North
The Völve hears everything, sees everything - nothing can be hidden from The Völve!

You can't lift an engine by anchoring to a plastic intake manifold, and it's far easier to keep the AC and power steering hooked up so you don't need to drain them. Also, the engine is so far back on Dakotas it's way better to take off the crank pully to clear the core support.

yep J A is right, and also the manifold blocks 2 bell housing bolts that need to be removed. I took the accessories off for better access to things and make the engine easier to chain up

With a torch and some cable cutters it would have been so much faster. I used to work at a salvage yard and if it took longer than 30 minutes I'd get yelled at.
