  • Restoration work continues on my rescued 1995 Nissan 300ZX build, in this episode I hit the junkyard to dig salvage parts from a wrecked and abandoned Z32. I also upgrade the stock stereo with a double din touch screen with Bluetooth and install a backup camera for a little bit of modern tech.

    Word of advise on the 3d printed parts you made. If you used PLA be sure to check on the parts every once in a while. PLA doesnt like heat and a lot of times parts that are put in cars end up melting/warping on hot days. If you have this issue reprint using PETG filament.

    • @noboltsleftbehind
      @noboltsleftbehind  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for the advice! I did print it with PLA and it definitely gets very toasty down here. I’ll be sure to keep an eye on it.

    Very cool! I have a 90TT that I haven't driven for years due to injector issues. Planning on taking care of that in the semi near future. Keep making vids and having fun. Are you considering a TT swap since you mentioned going manual?

      Definitely get that bad boy up and running! Such awesome cars to drive, I've been enjoying mine even in the rough condition it's in. I'm definitely considering adding a twin turbo setup, I keep hearing even the NA motor is good for a decent amount of boost if you get the tune right.

    My rear aftermarket speakers in my 300ZX are not so good. I was thinking about doing what you did and installing 4x6 speakers but I don't have a 3D printer. Would you sell me some like you made? Did the factory covers fit after you made the new speaker mounts? The old speaker with the sub-box might have been the original Bose.

    • @noboltsleftbehind
      @noboltsleftbehind  Год назад +2

      My 3D printer isn’t working at the moment unfortunately, but check out eBay, I think I saw someone selling something similar. Yes the original grills still fit over the new speakers and brackets.

    I had a question about how you routed your backup camera. Did you just ran it under the center console then later run it on LH/RH speaker to trunk?

    • @noboltsleftbehind
      @noboltsleftbehind  Год назад +1

      Actually I ran it down the side of the car instead behind the kick panel, next to the rocker panel and up over the rear wheel well.

    Can you slow the video of you changing the hatch lock mechanism..I have a 92 300zx..how do I do the conversion to power hatch release..do I have to find a 94 and up model to get all the parts if need be? thanks

      Sure, send me a message on my Instagram: instagram.com/noboltsleftbehind and I can send you the original video. I’m not sure what the differences might be between the two models but if the latch cable lines up in the same place I don’t see why you couldn’t switch it out for a power popper and wire it to a remote.
