- Restoration work continues on my rescued 1995 Nissan 300ZX build, in this episode I hit the junkyard to dig salvage parts from a wrecked and abandoned Z32. I also upgrade the stock stereo with a double din touch screen with Bluetooth and install a backup camera for a little bit of modern tech.

Soley on this channel to watch this Z32. Wonderful work so far! Glad nothing is being half-assed. Well done!
Thanks! Doing my part to help keep more of these beauties on the road.
I just bought one and love watching these and getting ideas. I’ll be doing those speaker upgrades in the near future to mine.
@@blakestanley1200 congrats man! I’m really liking the double-din stereo setup, I highly recommend it
I love this car can't wait to see the end result
Those seats in the junkyard honestly weren't THAT bad. @ChrisFix has great videos on interior detailing.
Good that you passed on those rear trim pieces, as the red parts car is a 2+2 if i remember
Ah yes, you're right it was a 2+2. Didn't realize those rear interior panels were different, good call.
I just got my 300z today and this is exactly what I’m doing. Thanks
That’s awesome man, congrats! The double din screen with bluetooth is definitely the way to go 👍
@@noboltsleftbehind in my opinion the best thing for this car sound wise is the SOUNDBOKS. i have 1 in each of my zs. Fully blue tooth no wires and u can take them out and use them aroumd the house or partys etc
Nice work!!
Thanks!
This is sick had to subscribe. 3d printed a speaker bracket.
Thanks man, I gotta say that 3D printer comes in clutch with a car full of little broken plastic pieces
love what your doing, the 300zx is what I’ve been wanting ever since I saw it in a dealership
Thanks, for me it was my neighbor’s white 2-seater. Took me about a decade but I finally got one!
Want to see more of this car
A new video is coming soon! And the manual swap is starting soon also…
Cool content. Looking forward to your next post 👍
Thanks! Next video I'm taking the 300ZX to the drag strip 🔥
I believe I have an extra set of those vents if you can’t find any
Thanks, I think I did manage to find a set of the horizontal ones on eBay but I’ll let you know if they don’t work out.
Great work, reminds me of my recent efforts on my 85 MR2. That thing in the back looks like it might be for an electronic/electric trunk release someone may have installed.
That’s what it seemed like to me. Maybe a part attempt to fix a broken stock popper? I tossed it into my box of random parts, maybe it will be useful for a future project.
@@noboltsleftbehind Good plan
Word of advise on the 3d printed parts you made. If you used PLA be sure to check on the parts every once in a while. PLA doesnt like heat and a lot of times parts that are put in cars end up melting/warping on hot days. If you have this issue reprint using PETG filament.
Thanks for the advice! I did print it with PLA and it definitely gets very toasty down here. I’ll be sure to keep an eye on it.
Very cool! I have a 90TT that I haven't driven for years due to injector issues. Planning on taking care of that in the semi near future. Keep making vids and having fun. Are you considering a TT swap since you mentioned going manual?
Definitely get that bad boy up and running! Such awesome cars to drive, I've been enjoying mine even in the rough condition it's in. I'm definitely considering adding a twin turbo setup, I keep hearing even the NA motor is good for a decent amount of boost if you get the tune right.
My rear aftermarket speakers in my 300ZX are not so good. I was thinking about doing what you did and installing 4x6 speakers but I don't have a 3D printer. Would you sell me some like you made? Did the factory covers fit after you made the new speaker mounts? The old speaker with the sub-box might have been the original Bose.
My 3D printer isn’t working at the moment unfortunately, but check out eBay, I think I saw someone selling something similar. Yes the original grills still fit over the new speakers and brackets.
I had a question about how you routed your backup camera. Did you just ran it under the center console then later run it on LH/RH speaker to trunk?
Actually I ran it down the side of the car instead behind the kick panel, next to the rocker panel and up over the rear wheel well.
Great video you just got a new subscriber! Any chance you 3-D printing the double din trim plate? If yes, would you mind sharing the file? Thank you!
Thanks! I didn’t 3D print that bezel, I ordered it from ZSPEC Design. I’m very happy with the fitment and quality.
Can you slow the video of you changing the hatch lock mechanism..I have a 92 300zx..how do I do the conversion to power hatch release..do I have to find a 94 and up model to get all the parts if need be? thanks
Sure, send me a message on my Instagram: instagram.com/noboltsleftbehind and I can send you the original video. I’m not sure what the differences might be between the two models but if the latch cable lines up in the same place I don’t see why you couldn’t switch it out for a power popper and wire it to a remote.
Did you haul your manual transmission around in the back of your Z ? I plan to take mine to the shop and am worried it’s too heavy.
Yeah, I had it in the trunk when I drove it home from buying it. It was just fine, maybe pull out that floor board thing if you don’t want to bend it.
My door handles were super faded like yours. I used some plastic restorer like 5-6 times and they came back perfectly. Not sure if you tackled that in a later video
It took me way to long to get to mine but I did fix them just before the last episode, I hit them with some plastic dye. One of those small things that totally transforms the interior!
@@noboltsleftbehind never tried that. I’ll have to look it up
Did you have to tap into the wiring harness for the transmission for the reverse camera or is that something that get detected through the wiring harness on the CD player?
I just tapped the reverse light wire, the camera wiring has one for reverse that I did have to connect to the stereo.
@@noboltsleftbehind awesome thanks!!
Where did you get the remote from for the car?
It’s a used OEM one I bought on eBay.
What brand reverse cam?
The brand is Auto-Vox, I think it was around $20 on Amazon
