The 4.8 LS Swap Doesn't Fit in my 1974 Corvette So I'm Making Modifications
In this episode I deal with the fitment problems of the LS engine swap in the C3 Corvette. Instead of buying aftermarket brackets, I choose instead to go the No Bolts route and modify the factory truck alternator bracket to make it fit. I also build a custom fan shroud for the OEM f-body Camaro LS1 electric fan swap, and shave the 5.3 truck intake manifold for a more OEM look.

    It appears to me that you are chassis grounding that amp. You can avoid that by running rubber spacers/graumets mounting that amp to any metal will chassis ground it & fry it. That is why most secure them to a wooden box. Run rubber graumets on both sides to avoid any metal contact to the electronics.

    I have a question about swapping a ford explorer 5.0 and transmission into my 1976 ford f150. I’m new to this but I’m a seasoned mechanic so my question is this, if I pull the engine/transmission with ALL OF THE WIRING INCLUDING FUSE BOXES AND COMPUTERS can’t I just transplant all of that into my old truck and get it running? I’m not worried about transmission to driveshaft or engine mounts or headers or exhaust. I’m talking about taking EVERYTHING out with wiring and installing into my 1976 f150. It seemed to me that it should be able to run in this configuration. Same accessories, cooling system, etc. am I missing something here? Nothing different. Same everything transplanted into my old truck. Fuel system included. Why wouldn’t it run on the stock computers or will it? Thanks 🙏 for your reply sir. I’ve already swapped my 68 stang onto a 2005 chassis so metal work is not a problem. HELP ME PLEASE!!!! 😂❤

    • @noboltsleftbehind
      @noboltsleftbehind 3 дня назад

      I would say absolutely that would work! You'll end up with a lot of extra wires you won't need but there's no harm in ignoring them and sealing the plugs off. This is basically exactly what I did, with the extra step of cutting out the unnecessary wires. I'm using the factory computer, harness, sensors, everything and it's been running great.

    I've been using that same fuse block on my LS swap for 4 years, great box but the connectors it comes with are not great with constant higher amperage loads. I ordered heavier connectors for the fuel pump and electric fans, after the first ones burned up. Eventually soldered the crimps as well to make it the best it could be, no issues since. The connectors are Sumi ATC 12-14 Female for the Fuses and AMP 1012 Locking TP / AMP 1214 Locking TP for the relay blocks. I got them from CycleTerminal
