I love the fact that I found your channel! Have a project 94 I am getting back in order myself. Please keep us updated as you have been. Love your attention to detail!
I really enjoy your videos. I like how you don't navel gaze and talk about impertinent stuff. Most youtubers do that because they're trying too hard to be interesting. But my interest right now, is to restore my Z32 as well. And I'm just like you. I like the clean factory look; the time capsule. I hate clutter and "over accessorization" of cars, especially the Z32....since it was my dream car when it debuted. Too many people butcher them, rice them out, and end up looking like junkers. I'm going to LS3 swap mine. I already got the LS3 but am saving up money for the LOJ swap kit.....
I appreciate it 👍. Sounds like you have an awesome project, I’m a big fan of the LS swap in the Z cars. I love the idea of an otherwise stock looking Z32 with a rowdy V8 rumble.
I’m kind of weird but I actually like electrical! Something therapeutic about it for me. Yes, they are rare to find in junkyards down here but they do show up from time to time. They get stripped out almost immediately.
I'm not going to lie watching this makes me confident this is my issue my z is burn fuses and not start and just all over the place I really want to do this
My car just doesn't shut off. Cluster turns off though. Also the relays dont open their circuits when the battery is connected only when it's disconnected. I'm guessing my ecu is cooked somewhere or something. For some background the battery has hit the hood before. And no I didn't do it because the car hasn't been on the road in years I've just been fixing it and trying to figure out that problem. Lemme know what you think.
Hmm.. I’ve had a similar problem before. I’d assume if your car is able to run your ecu might be ok. Maybe check the connections and relays related to the starter and alternator? There’s a relay in the driver side wheel well behind the plastic splash shield. Maybe check out your ignition switch too, you can access the wires for probing just under the steering column.
Haha, you know my pain then. The wiring hackery on some of these 90s and 2000s cars is crazy, I know I caused plenty of it myself when I was younger. Glad to see it’s getting reversed now that these cars are classics.
Any fears or preventions about/for putting in that new radio? My first car had the windows busted open for some dude to tear apart my dash and steal it.
for the locking nut removal your procedure was wrong, loosen all the 4 normal nuts first, jack up the car now the locking nut has zero side bevel friction and is in free floating state now lower the wheel back down to half pressure on tire adjust so tire wont turn while removal this is the best chance you have for removal of locking nut

That's awesome man, good luck on your project! They're such great cars when you get them all dialed in.
The beeping is something all Sony stereos did when you turn off the car, to remind you to take the faceplate with you. Nothing to do with the alarm!
Huh, didn’t even think about that but makes sense. And I totally forgot about the days of carrying a stereo faceplate around in my pocket. Haha.
Ahhhh, the ole Sony “Take my face off” beeps…takes me back to my car audio days.
Cool! Is this to hide you have the radio?
Just bought a 90 NA! Super excited to follow along. Mine's not running yet but I hope I can get her back on the road soon.
Congrats dude! Good luck on the project, keep us posted on how it goes!

Love your channel! Congratz on your Z! Ive had mine for 15yrs and still in love with her! 😍 Yes im a girl but im a Z enthusiast! 😎
That’s awesome! So cool to see all the love these ZXs get and I’m happy to be a part of the family.
Those factory wheels look a million times better - good choice!
Inspires me to get my 90 TT back on the road. Keep up the great work!
Thanks man, glad I can be in inspiration. Now get that thing running and driving!
Better you than me. I hate messing with electrical. Question, do you have salvage yards with z32's in Cali?

I had to perform a similar repair on my MR2, wires hanging where my feet go lol
Oh and backup camera and touchscreen were probably my first 'mod' when I bought it lol.

@@onaclovtech definitely a must have 👍
Cool build. I'm following.
Thanks, I appreciate it!

No, not really. I keep it in my garage
What transmission is that in your garage behind your wheels?
That’s the stock 300ZX 5-speed manual, soon to be installed in my car 👍
8.5 rears were turbo only. Note they are directional . Look for the part number on the wheel itself I think ir says L or R
I think that I liked the chrome wheels it had before looked better... Personally I liked them but of course it's your decision to make...
when I got my 300 it had that exact same rats nest viper install
Must have been a 2000’s thing, I remember hacking in my fair share of aftermarket electronic junk back in the day.
thank you for this video

Makes a lot of sense, I’ll definitely try this next time.
keep it up
Thanks, will do!
