This guy may be the most fortunate human I’ve ever seen. He gets his dream car, and more importantly, he is married to someone who shares his passion. Plus she is just stunning. Enjoy the next 60 or so years folks… and that sweet Z of course!

I bought a white 1990 twin turbo Z with a manual used in 1994 and kept it until 2002 when my second son was born and I felt I needed a back seat so I moved on to a used 540i Sport 6-speed manual. The Z was a fabulous car with very little that went wrong. I enjoyed it every time I got in it and I drove it every day, putting nearly 100k miles on it. Now, I wish I would have kept it as a third car, but having multiple extra cars didn't seem practical then though I have a garage full now. The RUclips algorithm recommended this because I was showing said son, now 21 years old, the 1990 Super Bowl commercial featuring the Z outrunning a plane. Glad to see people still loving this car.

I’ve had my Z32 for 22 years; garage kept and looks like glass. I get an adrenaline dump every time I drive it. Chipped, staggered wheels, down pipes, test pipes, and greedy SP2 exhaust. Anything and everything is done and runs like a jewel.

I am so amazed at how nice the seats still look after 32 years. I have seen Mustang GT seats less than 10 years old that look worn and cracking, but these look almost brand new. The old saying is so true about they don't make things like they used to.

I just bought a 1990. I never had an inclination toward these cars, but drove Nissan trucks for many years (I was 18 in 1990). I didn't know I could fall in love with a car so fast. I saw it on Craigslist and said "Wow, that's sexy and kinda mean looking!" Then I talked myself out of it. Then I went back and looked at it 100 times a day until I knew I just had to have it. It's not perfect, but it's really good, and I've been loving it back to glory with tuning and addressing all the maintenance she needs and deserves.
She purty, just like y'alls'! I am chomping at the bit to throw some time and money at brakes and suspension so I can take her out on one of our many canyon roads here in Montana!

A very special car! I had an '81 280ZX that I bought in 94 and loved very intensely. A red 2+2 with t-tops. Unfortunately I had a minor crash with it about 3 years later. It was repairable but I was young and never really had the money to get it fixed. it sat for about 3 years before I finally sold it to someone who wanted to fix it up. I've always lusted after the 300ZX TT and still think it's one of the most beautiful cars ever made. I still hope to find one someday. A very lucky find! Shame about the automatic transmission though ...

Your husband has a great gal for his "better half"! He needs to make sure you stay around for a loooong time assisting him on his automotive adventures!😁 Represent women well and by your example, show them that women can do the job just as good as men(if not better) at time's! I'm 57, with sisters and am trying to teach them how to do all of their own repairs, with confidence! Doug🤓😇😁

I got a 92 ZX 2+0 NA for $600. Needed a ton of repairs as it sat outside for 6-8 years. Had a bad coolant leak because the seal had gone, as well as it needed new injectors because they were all clogged. Seal was fixed by moving a clamp on the radiator hose Hardest thing is working in that engine bay, along with the wiring, and cleaning the suede. For the suede, use a steam gun, and a soft brush. I would also recommend an engine kill switch for the battery so there is no parasitic drain when not running, and even an ignition kill switch.

Congrats! I also just recently bought a 91 TT automatic that sat for 10 years. What I have done so far, which I assume you will need:
    - New style injectors (and harness)- get AUS 750cc injectors from zshack - these have new billet pintle caps - BE VERY CAREFUL INSTALLING THE INJECTORS - orings pinch and hydrolock the engine. These old injectors fail with ethanol and also the harnesses tend to corrode
    - get your ecu socketed and tuned for the injectors.
    - delete the PTU subharness (right under pass throttle body) these are very prone to corrosion and create a miss.
    - when replacing injectors, do all the deletes: EGR and coolant lines at the very least. Look up deletes.
    -120k service asap
I will have to keep up with this channel and see what you guys do!

Welcome to the twin turbo Z car family! When I found mine almost 5 years ago, it was in terrible shape with mice nesting throughout the car. It ran but barely with misfires like yours, but I knew it would be worth fixing up, it also had not run or been driven in 15 years! (Had 2004 tags on the license plate). I couldn't believe I had the opportunity to buy this car, especially considering I live in SE Wisconsin and the car wasn't completely rusted away. Mine is a silver 92 300 ZX TT with manual 5 speed and BOSE sound system. Now that I have it all fixed up, i enjoy every time i get a chance to drive it, show it, or work on it. Thank you, your channel is one of the best on U Tube, it always brings a smile to my face!

The Z32 TT is absolutely one of my all-time favorite cars! What I would give to find an unmodified version in good condition for a decent price! The design (like it’s contemporaries, the Supra Turbo, NSX, and RX7) is just timeless and takes me back to a magical time when there were no BS EV’s or hybrids (or idiots that think those things are a good idea)!

Round trip rallies to Hotlanta and back Stopping only for gas and check points (Stop&Go).. What absolute score!!!! These were PLENTIFUL in Nz back in the 90s and hearing the story of original owner complaining about the corvettes? My neighbour happened to be a Vette enthusiast and had a pristine condition red C3 but wanted a "paddock hack" to daily drive and ended up with a red 300zx...it's abit rare to see these cars around and in mint condition at that, many were stolen and thrashed/written off

I have 5 300zx of my own and rebuild many engines, take the fan and radiator out, front off the engine , be careful with the tensor, they break very easy, follow the manual. Take cam socket off again its easy, then from the top, the top of the inlet manifold, then Rocker covers, cams, the lifter out and are easy to pull apart and clean, they can pump up and hold the valves open, you can check with a compression test, or Leck down, will tell you which valves are open, we talking only. 5 of a mm. I sure you can find lots of videos about this. And change the inlet manifold so you reinstall with the engine in the car again. Very hard to put it back on again. Enjoy your time working on it. Thanks from down under here in New Zealand.

I hope your experience with it is better than mine.
I had a 1990 non turbo 300zx back in the mid 90's. After about 6 months it started dumping oil from every seal and gasket. I took it to a shop and after the guy looked at it his words were "just be glad you don't have the turbo version". He said he had been replacing turbos left and right and almost anything you had to do on the car, the first step was "1. Remove the engine". At the time I wasn't in a position to drop a thousand or more dollars to get all the leaks fixed so I dumped it on a dealer that barely looked at it but had to have it.

Best way to detail the motor compartment is to start it, let it warm up. I didn't say hot, just warm. Then shut it off, and spray/bathe the entire engine compartment especially the outside of the motor with simply green in a spray bottle full strength. Let it sit for about a half hour, and then go in with a soapy rag and wipe everything down that shows, like the ducting, air cleaner cover, hoses, you name it. Give it a good scrub. Then give it a power wash, or at least a good hosing down. Now here is the secret. Let it dry overnight, and the next day come in with WD 40 and bury the engine compartment with it. Let it cover everything. It will appear shiny wet, but by the next day the gloss will abate, and everything will then have a satiny brand new look to it. Super clean, and the WD 40 lubricates and protects. I had a high end body shop for 20 years so I am speaking from experience. Once you do this, and see how it looks and turns out, you will be hooked for a lifetime. Nothing phony about it. True, natural looking, brand newness. Love you guys, and love this channel.

Seeing Aaron excited in front of the camera is kind of rare.
Love the car. Love the roof, reminds me a bit of the Toyota MR2, aka Mr. Dos.
The car looks so good inside and out. The seats cleaned up great, the plastic looks fine and nothing seems to be cracked or torn. Just beautiful. Congratulations.
I can't wait to hear the sound when she's running properly. Such a nice car. I really like the shape and design.

Great story. Always glad to see a 300zx come back to life. My summer toy is a 1993 300zx convertible. I love it, it is such a comfortable long distance cruiser, and I do take trips of 1,000 miles periodically. It is a non-turbo. I think it looks stunning in convertible form. Hope to drive it for many more years. Currently 123,000 miles, and it stills runs like a clock.

Very nice Z you have there, I've had my 2004 350Z for well for nearly 7 years now and love it, only got 32K on the clock and leads a pretty easy life although does stand outside all year round in the UK.

Huge Nissan and Z fan here! So happy Aaron found one of his dream cars!! On a side not please don't ever move to MotorTrend. A lot of the RUclips content creators who went there have now lost their way and our family LOVES how down to earth y'all are!!

Sure do appreciate that!!! We’re soooo excited about this car! Interesting you say that about MT! We actually had a show come out on MotorTrend both on demand and on TV- we worked long and hard on the contract to ensure we would remain the rights to continue our channel here because owning our content is out too priority! MT ended up only doing one season of the show (which they hilariously titled, Live Love Wrench) and didn’t renew it for another season telling us the audience just wasn’t there for a show like ours on TV 😂😝
We wouldn’t agree to drama, fake endings, additional mechanics to do the work for us or really any of the tv crap that doesn’t align with who we are.
Sadly, the network wouldn’t let us work on any of our real cars, so they came up with the vehicles we worked on. That caused the show to lack the personal feeling our series here has- plus just the different editing and such… I wasn’t a big fan of how the show turned out- so we ended up thankful the network didn’t renew it! 😂

@@flyingsparksgarage that is fantastic to hear, just happy to NOT see a $7000-15000 Gearstar (fantastic company by the way!!) trans in almost every build of a beater. Keep it up and glad y'all and MT didn't see exactly eye to eye.

This is so awesome to watch cause it's SO similar to how I found my 91 Stealth RT TT last year! It was sitting in this middle aged guys off apartment garage unit collecting dust for 10 YEARS! 105K Miles on it! He sold it to me 2 months after I found it when he was able to get it up and running. Drove it 120miles home on 16 year old tires with flat spots lol but now she's been brought back to her former glory and is in very good hands! Can't wait to get it out this spring!

A ZXTT diamond in the rough!!! I would be looking at the Fuel System, (Fuel injectors, flush out the gas tank and lines) then look at the turbos to find where the misfire is originating from; whether its mechanical or electrical...Lots of potential in this Nissan and no doubt, an amazing barn find!!!!!!!

My step father purchased one of these with about 60k miles on it. He was a mechanic for his entire life and typical mechanic fashion he wanted to go through the engine. Typical check plugs, check wiring, fluids, etc. When he realized he would have to take the heads off to get to the plugs, he sold it a week later. LOL. I got to ride in it before he sold it and it was incredibly quick even in stock form. I ran into another guy I worked with after he passed that had one he did some work to back in the 2000's before the HP wars started back up and he was running over 400hp to the wheels after converting it to a single turbo. I've always thought those cars were very attractive and obviously fast. But I think the engines are overly complicated which is one reason I got rid of my Infiniti G37s which is basically a 370Z in sheep's clothing. Glad you were able to get your hands on what I assume is a bucket list vehicle. You say it is a weekend driver, but I have a feeling it might become more after you drive it for a bit.
