I'm convinced Aaron is a genius . My momma & dad always said , "if you never make a mistake . That means you ain't doin anything ." Y'all are on the top of my Playlist of RUclips channels .
I don't know why anybody would ever send you negative comments. You two are the best. A person could not ask for more out of your videos, not to mention the fact that you are genuine great people. Much love and keep up the great work. You are really appreciated.
This video had an extremely chill and calm vibe; less hectic than some of your other shows…much appreciated as an additional vibe in your overall palette. Oh…and nice build; but that is to be expected from you 2
I live in California where there are smog tests for cars built after 1975. When the smog test is done your car could be so rusty that it's about to break in half but if it passes the smog check you can register it to drive.
Thanks for your show, I really enjoy watching you guys work on your projects together. My wife and I did that together on our rock crawler jeeps. She passed away in 2021. So working on the jeep isn’t as fun as it used to be. We were together for 43 years. I am planning on coming to Texas to do some wheeling and will be picking up a friend in Mount Pleasant. Don’t know where that is in relation to your town, but it would be nice to stop by and meet you guys in person 😊. Just from watching your shows makes me feel like I know you already.
I like that parts washers and the solvent is environmentally friendly and safe, I know there's some that don't clean that well, but this crc seems to work well. Back in my day in the late 80s you knew the parts solvent worked because not only did it strip the crap off the parts, but it'd strip your skin off to the bone, that's how you knew it worked!
I had this as a work car. It was by far the best highway vehicle I ever had. So comfortable and great mileage at high speeds. I wish I had it back. Enjoy
I think part of the problem is why people aren't subscribed if they watch utube TV. There is no place to subscribe or press like. I literally had to go back to my smart phone to hit the like button.
Less is more with anti-seize, IMHO. A real 'little dab'll do ya!' sort of thing. I guess more can't hurt, except, as others have noted, you soon look like the Tin Man!! Henley is doing an EXCELLENT job sleepervising your work!! 🙂
Hey guys it’s Louis, I’m not the least bit surprised and it runs you guys are terrific at what you do. change your oil give her a bath and dry the heck out of her. just got out of the hospital yesterday thanks for the well wishes Aaron and Miss Em. God bless you both stay safe stay healthy.
Aaron. It is NOT boring watching you rebuild electrical connectors! I would enjoy watching you do an example of each of the different types of electrical connectors on an LS engine. Thanks.
Anti sieze, step one: Smear it everywhere on your visible skin and clothing, because that's how it will end up. This step is complete when you appear to have been cast as The Tin Man. 😂
Congratulations on getting her running I am convinced you both are good mechanics you both are good together watching your show all the time I am retired now but I turned wrenches and drove over the road Truck between the two for over 40 years things have changed so much now I could not change the spark plugs, my hat goes off to both of you 🎉🎉🎉
“Why do you call everything a nipple?” 😅 I grew up on a farm in Montana…cows had “tits,” brand new tires had little “tits” on them. Pipe fittings were “nipples.” We thought nothing of it. We were not being lewd. We were being practical. We had utmost respect for girls/women. They had both breasts and nipples. No disrespect. Thank you so much for your content!
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this. I repair calibrate and certify torque wrenches. 20 Newton meters is equal to 14.75 ftlbs. So you should be good!
where I used to work, we were not allowed to torque a fastener within 10% of the top or 20% of the lowest torque setting on the torque wrench. Our genius engineers said they lost accuracy on the extreme ends of the wrench. In this case, I would have used an inch-pound wrench
I LOVE the sound of rain on a tin roof! And I have been watching your videos since forever. Way back when David Madeira taught Emily how to drive a three on the tree on a red and white Ford Ranchero, and probably earlier than that.
Being that its a Japanese car are those screws JIS? Working on old bikes all the "phillips" head screws were stripping out. I didn't actually know that it was not standard and the JIS screwdrivers have a different angle on them. That and a hammer manual impact is a life saver.
Listening to Aaron about the torque values reminded me of a recent experience on a continental aircraft engine. It was all inch pounds! That was a change up from what I'm used to! Glad you have it running.
Man! The struggle is real! You guys have a million times more patience than I would have with that car. It seems like everything on it is a knock down drag out fight to the death. Part of it is the over complicated design, and part of it is how crispy everything gets over time. All of those hoses, wires, and corroded connections. WOW! What a nightmare. So sorry about your camera. That really sucks. Stuff happens. Great video! Great job of sticking with it. Well done!
Congrats!! No chance I'd dig into something like that. And you're about to have another spot back in the shop! So much fun to see you two working together. Thanks for the vids!
Congrats on getting it running. That is not a project I could do, much to complicated. I love Finley, he sure is content to be in the garage with you two and you really don't know he's around as there is no barking or anything. Good little dog.
Time to release the "Sparken". lol Great video, guys. So glad to see more work on the 300. I caught some of the live, but was working, so... Can't wait for the next one.
Congrats you two. I did the same darn thing to my 1990TT last summer. I kept all of the PCV and throttle body coolant lines original. What a pain to reinstall everything by oneself but it went back together. All electrical connections were corroded like yours were. I upgraded to the new style injectors so I could use any formulation of high octane fuel. Don’t forget the clean out the PTU harness connections. You haven’t seen green corrosion until you pull that harness apart. A litttle sand paper and dielectric grease does wonders.
as a long time Z enthusiast in Savannah Ga, Im lucky to be able to drive up to Z1 Motorsports and have been buy from them for years and years.. great company, they def help to take out any of the guess work when needing z parts.. also email you guys a link to all the z manuals and info from when I was apart of our local Z club..
Old mechanics trick for installing plugs: use a piece of hose that will slide over the electrode or ceramic part of the plug that is snug - it will make installing those hard-to-reach plugs easier, less likely to cross thread and will keep the plug from accidentally falling out of the socket. When the plug is "finger" tight, the hose will simply spin on the plug, then pull it off and tighten with your socket. The old man who trained me taught me that little trick is it has proven to be invaluable to me. Enjoy watching all the projects!
Hugs to Emily. Those camera's are semi weather sealed, so you should be lucky. Just send it in to get it cleaned & repaired. As well as remembering to use the tripod. Great work on the Z Aaron. Those injector plugs can be depinned, but they're a pain without the right pin.
Next time the kids on get her to say Auntie Em(like from wizard of oz) and uncle A Aron(like that commercial a few years ago) lol. Keep up the awesomeness with the vids. Again thank you for sharing a part of y’all’s lives with us
De-pinning the harness and cutting and pinning the plugs that couldn’t be removed was the move. I’ve seen several diy jobs with those problematic injector harness’s and they look like garbage 👏🏻
hello to you two beautiful people it's so true we all make mistakes it's what makes us human it's ok to be sad that you've made a mistake but you mustn't get mad at yourself. thank you for being who you are
I once worked for a truck dealership in their parts warehouse. We stocked all the little individual pieces that go into constructing a connector. Your work on the wire connectors reminded me of that.😊
Impressive!!! That was an intimidating job and you 2 did it!! I especially liked your wiring plug changing. Very informative! Awesome job guys, and never worry about your videography, the videos are always watchable and entertaining! Rock on!!
Anti-Seiiz on plugs a little dab, like a stripe top to bottom, DO NOT get any on the end, you get it on the porsalin because you will never get it all off, at high voltage like ignition 50,000 volts min. once it tracks down the porcalin, it there forever. Most anti has copper, nickel, so you just killed the plug. Ole Lecktrican/mec. The stuff is like roofing tar, get it on you hand, when your done it's every where! Keep on, you guys are Killin it!
Cats wont scratch the paint inless you scare them. They are very gentle walking on my Shelby never gets scratches. Soft paw creatures and they are comfortable with you to come inside. You make me miss my old 280Z!
Awesome job and congratulations on getting it running. There are some rubber hoses behind the water pump that are probably leaking. So when you do the timing belt you can replace those.
I had a Buick V6 that only liked a thin stripe from porcelain to seat. If I put Antiseaze the whole length of the threads they worked loose. I have an '83 Ram D100 225 ci that wants the full thread with Antiseaze. They tightened nicely, yet released with just a snug turn of the ratchet to loosen. Buick was Aluminum Ram is Cast Iron
My anti-seize tip: get a small, 1/4" wide Testor's paintbrush from the world of model making, and keep that with your Permatex big bottle of goop. Makes for a less messy situation when you only are using a little bit and can "paint" it onto the threads. It usually doesn't take much.
Impressive work, that engine compartment had me scared for sure. Love the methodical way you go about problem solving keep up the good work and trust you will keep the videos coming.
Fifty years ago, cars coming in from Japan were more consumer oriented and you could work on them. US made were more complicated but now they’re both that way! Aaron, your very good mechanic. Wish I was too! God bless you 2 !

Cut off a long piece of fuel hose that will fit over the spark plug insulater , firmly ! Works good on hot engines and deep areas to remove spark plugs ! Yes let it cool down first before you start , preferably when it is cold , but sometimes you just have to remove and go because of time issues !
Hey thanks for the electrical cleaning stuff Worked great on my 1956 TBird distributor in side was full of garbage ran like garbage took a minute to spray and clean runs beautiful now Thanks PS let me know if you want to sell the 240
Look like the same injector setup as my old 2.4 '93 Altima. Those screw heads seemed like they were made from warm butter and could easily strip when seized and made it tough to get them loosened, but it was so satisfying to hear that 'crack' sound once they broke loose. Love the blues guitar riffs btw
Question about Roxy, can you please tell me what tire combo you're running size, wheels and offset? I love the set up and I'm looking for something new for my GTO that won't rub on every bump. Thank you and thanks for sharing your videos.
doing the cam belt is a chore on these another thing is the engine harness even replacing the plugs on it is borrowed time the wires get hard and brittle and the green crusties go into the wire sooner or later you will need to replace the engine harness wiring specialties make a replacement harness you might need to look into it but love the build cheers from down under
Hey y'all what a awesome job y'all did getting the 300 running. Of course I had absolutely no doubt that she would fire right up. Once while trying to remove phillips heads off a Honda motor cycle......it got so bad i had to use a cut off wheel to make flat sides for the vice grips to grab........and as vice grip says.....every tool has a hammer side
Going through the injector wiring. I think the rubber grommets are supposed to be crimped with the large end of the electrical connector. Then they seal it tight as they are crimped to the wire.

I hear a vacuum leak in their guys you need to check that really good cuz that would make it run even better
Great episode. That old Sony cam should be repairable, so while it's an inconvenience, it's not a catastrophe Good camera gear is durable.
