The two of you have such a great chemistry together, you also are so happy and positive. It's uplifting to watch your videos. Great diagnostics Aaron!!!!!!!
We sure do appreciate that, Larry!!
As a Harley guy and a car guy of 57 years young.! I love the fact that you include the animals a little in your videos. Keep up the awesome content and banter with one another. We / I am sure all appreciate it beyond your comprehension!
52:30 mentions youtube comments trolling the gripmat. Seconds later, the vaccum pump unleashes an unprovoked frontal assault, and the gripmat indeed stands it's ground and holds the position well! 😂😂
HAHAHAHAH that’s HILARIOUS!! And so TRUE!! The dang things are GREAT 😂
I love your chemistry together and your long videos, I hope for more!
I loved it when Aaron was sportin that farmer tan . I'm glad I'm not the only one that has one . Y'all are great together . Keep the videos coming .
Hint, slide the clamp on over the pipe first and well down the pipe out of the way. Then slide the boot on over the lip on the pipe. Then slide the clamp back into the correct position. Yes they can be a pain. 😊
I learned something today - fit all the pipework before fitting the intercooler!! 👍✌
I have been wrenching for decades but am not a diesel mechanic. I learned something today. Thanks
Aaron really knows how to work that pipe. Yeah, I caught that one.😂
Like the attitude you can do it youself.
And I can google that. And cool ya show basic mechanic diesel.

I feel blessed being the oldest one in the shop and still the only one who lay under a dash wiring the car all day. but, I am not so sure I was that smart starting a career as a mechanic at 53. Watching Emily sit all hunched over under the truck makes my neck hurt.
I retired from Dow Chemical in Freeport, Texas. They too use microbes. It was a plant called the "Bio Ponds" we just called it the "Bug Pond." All the wastewater from all the plants went to the Bio-Ponds before being released to the river after the outfall was analyzed of course. If the "bugs" in the pond got sick, the entire Plant-B Division may have to be shutdown which would cost millions of dollars. They took loving care of the "bugs."
This is awesome!!!!!
That’s very interesting!
I was born in Freeport Tx. I worked sum in dow, but mostly basf. I live in Danbury Tx now. Basf had a bug pond too, but they called it a bug farn!
@@neoncatfish4038 My Mom lived on the corner of Ave H and something in Danbury for a longtime. Yep, all I guess all the plants had to have a way to clean up the wastewater before discharging out.
@@neoncatfish4038 I live in Alvin and we get our fish to stock our pond at the Danbury fish farm! Small world
Murphy's Law Never disappoints! "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong, and at the worst possible time." GG Guys! Great Video and Thanks for sharing!

"Its just nuts how cold it is" had me laughing so hard seeing the nuts in the air box 😂
Man, those acorns hung out for a minute 😂. For real though, the OBS is sounding so good.
Some things just make you laugh when you see them so they were hard to say goodbye to 😂😂😂
Holy Shiet! An hour? Gotta make popcorn!!!
Sorry/welcome!!!!! 🤣🙏🏼💪🏼🫵🏻
You two are so down to earth showing the problems and mistakes, love it, thank you for your videos 👍😁❤️
You only need to pull the bottom bolt out of the injector. The retainer rocks up and slides away to pull the injector without pulling the top bolt. Those oil deflectors for the injector are used to keep the exhaust oil from wearing a hole in the valve cover gaskets or blowing oil under the gasket.
I'm sorry you spent an unnecessary $300, but I'm glad you showed me how to properly change an injector and test the gasket/harness in case I ever need to on mine. That was very interesting. Thank you both....and Finley too. Be safe!
97 7.3 never came with catalytic converters at least in Texas. Mid 2003 was when they became law and the garage 6.0 was born.
Sparkly rear diff fluid... It needed a change. Great video. Love everything you two do.
I noticed the sparkles also. And the color of the gear oil looked off. Might have a plugged vent.
Differential soup, awesome! Oh wait, sparkly differential soup! This has to be my favorite video of yours so far! My '96 7.3 with 371,000 may need an injector someday and certainly needs a new set of glow plugs. I'll be watching parts of this again when that time comes! Keep up the good work!
Great video, always enjoy watching you two working, always learn something , love you all ❤❤❤❤
Well, you ARE Flying Sparks Garage! :)
Gotta enjoy Aaron’s humor. Thanks dude for the subtlety.
Heck ya you two been tougher dating since teens. Didn’t know that.
Ya know Emily. Saw ya while ago on pikes with Derrick.
Good ya guys ya mini RUclips family.
And Adrian. Ya long time ago 777.
7.3 content, sweet video you two
Been Subscribed for years! Like to see my fellow Texans make good!
Nice diagnosis Aaron. Nice to see you giving the Ford truck a new lease of life. Nice quality Banks upgrades. I like that Banks are emissions compliant and have data to back their products.
Also, and I say this in the most Christian way possible, the inuendo in the latter half of this episode is THICK! I loved it! 😂😂
😂😂😂🙈🙈🙈😜😜😜
That truck upgrade is a real wonder! A nutless wonder😂😅😂!
Em it was really cool watchin you put that diff cover on in the dark because usually when I'm workin on my truck it's dark and looks just like that.My garage doesn't have lights right now because someone cut all the wires out of it. Gotta love Belmead! Love and hugs from Waco.😁
It's funny how we dread getting into something thinking it's going to be hard & it turns out so easy. You definitley found it checking exhaust temps tho.
NICE! I love the video so much! Thanks for being you❣ The time spending with you was AWESOME! Both of you have very pretty eyes!
Hey guys it’s Louis again. Unfortunately I was late getting to watch the vid because I’m having to watch it from my hospital bed. Have a second rather serious long issues. Nevertheless I enjoyed the bed and I’m glad you got the truck running I know you guys are tickled pink over it. As always it was a joy getting to watch U2 to work together. Glad to see mom back in the shop in Finley doing his part. Lol. You guys just keep up the good work and a good foods, looking forward to the next one. Take care God bless love you too.
Sending healing prayers to you, Louis!!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 You support means so much to us ❤
@@flyingsparksgarage I just received my Roxy GTO T-shirt, looks great. Plan on ordering another one, I’m not sure if it’s going to be Garfield or just the flying sprks tee. God bless you both take care love you guys
Aaron, in your shoes, I first swap that injector 10 out of 10 times too. That's the way she goes sometimes my dude. At any rate GOOD JOB!
Can I just say THANK YOU! for putting the exhaust out the side! If you're going to trailer with a truck, the last thing you want is the exhaust blowing at you while you're hitching things up. I know it's the appearance fad these days, and even most factory trucks are coming with that, but it just doesn't make sense to me.
Those 7.3’s are indestructible. Brother law had a non turbocharged with 400000 miles then added a banks kit. Still kicking!
Superb work finding and sorting out the misfire ,Who needs a scanner to find a fault ,your doing it the proper mechanics way .
The smell of burned atf is one I’ll never forget. 😊
We are subscribed Windsor Ontario. Canada, watching you guys are great.
Team
Thanks so much y’all!!!
to stop the squirrels/ critters leaving you lovely stashes of nuts if you put some wire mesh over the snorkel intake pipe of the air box it will stop them crawling up it. just need a small mesh size. basically as long as a pencil doesn't fit through then its good. as mice apparently have deformable skulls and if a pencil fits, they fit.
Remember that part synthetic oil was sold a lot before full synthetic became the required by the manuals.
You 2 REALLY need to get a Topside creeper . It makes Everything on engine bay work So Much Easier.
Congratulations Emma and Arron
Yes I remember the gear oil smell for sure. Worse is the old special posi oil they used in my 66 Chevelle! Years ago I accumulated an assortment of various sizes, lengths and thread pitch bolts, cut the heads off and use them to align and help hold parts like that cover in place until I can get the bolts in. Often makes those jobs easier. I've bought rebuilt water pumps for a small block Chevy that had the impeller installed backward so it happens! Good work on all of those jobs!
I keep going back and forth on whether to keep my 95 regular cab long bed or sell it. These vids make me want to keep it.
1:40
IM all for videos smooth and slow movements .
TV is filled with jerky zooming to catch the viewers attention but results only in eyestrain.
I applaud you miss.
Defo a good thing to aim for ( no pun intended)
Happy to see the OBS getting some love!
For anyone that doesn’t know, FORScan is a fantastic program for diagnostics on a 7.3 or any OBD 2 Ford vehicle. Free/chrap to download to a laptop or the lite version on your phone to have on the road. Just have to buy the adapter
C.J is in the house..Hello Mama !!!!!
Great 7.3 video. Rolled over 1/4 million miles on mine and will keep it for life. Don't know about your truck but just had to replace o'rings on the oil/water cooler. Hard as rocks and puked oil on a cold start.
Thats a great setup!! Can't wait to see all the new content with it!!
I love watching you both. You helped get me through Covid!
Another good one 👍👍
Love the music with your video keep up the good work😊😊😊😊😊
We love hearing that!!
When you removed the nuts from the air cleaner, that really sucked. 😂
Moving the camera that much bugged me too, but I didn't want to criticize. Thanks for your videos.
Banks parts are super quality. I have all the same type of parts on my 07 LBZ duramax. Worth every penny.
good job. really learned something unusal.
If you haven't noticed yet, those tires will ware down fast. I had a set and made 25k miles before they were done. Now I'm running the toyo M920s and have about 80k on them. Lots of life left. I enjoy the builds!
I've seen dino and synthetic from the same brand not play nice with each other and sludge an engine. Some goober I know was using 3 quarts conventional and 3 quarts synthetic to make a "custom" blend in their new LS and changed oil every 3000. That was a real mess when they went full synthetic still with that brand and 1000 miles later all the sludge in the engine cut loose. Ever had an engine suddenly start trying to shake itself out of the mounts because 5w30 suddenly got thicker than gear oil? The engine ended up being fine but still scary. That truck was traded 30,000 miles later with 44k on it still running perfect. Only makes sense that it could happen with diff oil too. That's why I always tell people to pick an oil and stick with it. And I'm so glad I wasn't able to smell that old diff oil because it seems like the more beat up it is the worse it smells. BTW, I'm in my 40's now and get reminded that I'm not as durable and flexible as I used to be. Take care of yourself now because that will make a huge difference in how your body works later.
Great job on the diesel and I Love to see Mr.Finley supervising as well,❤LoveJim J&R mobile service and God Bless y'all and your critters
I had one of theses trucks can’t remember what year it was but it was just like this one. I think a 97.
I had to change valve cover gaskets for a dead cylinder the injector wires went thru the gaskets one was bad, they said it is common problem. Injectors started failing later. So I had change a bunch of those, in those days they were like 8000.00 each at the parts store. I don’t drive any more of Ford diesels. Only a Cummins man now. I wanted one of these trucks a long time before I got one, owned it a couple of years and sold it. Went back to Dodge. But I always liked the look and sound of these trucks mine was early Power Stroke 5 speed manual and 4x4 extended cab. Cab lights and Green in color. One thing I didn’t like was with out aggressive tires it didn’t do well in mud. Got stuck easy, even on hard but muddy ground.
They can be hard to start in cold weather. Cummins is a drastic opposite difference.
But man will they run, very quick. In 5th it would run faster than I wanted to drive it. 4 th will show you over 100.
So nice to see you guys make a great team 😊
You may have ‘wasted’ $300 but that was some awesome content and a great lesson for people!
Loving this content as I nearly bought a similar truck a few years ago that had been shipped to the uk and I still want one at some point so it’s great knowledge to be acquiring 👌
Big love to Finley and the kitty pack, so much cuteness!
I like the red hoses! nice...
Great job on the Banks install
Yep time and patients & fixing the miss
You guys need to invest in a creeper that has a headrest on it so you don't have to hold your head up with your neck muscles when working under the vehicle. Also, checkout the parts washer that Matt on Diesel Creek uses to clean his parts. You guys do as much if not more rebuilding and cleaning of parts as Matt does
Nice job. Good info . You and your wife work together like my wife and I do
You Guys Are Amazing! Love Your Channel!
Thanks for sharing this adventure with us (especially since it was more than you had been expecting)!
Great video guys.
Aaron & Finley, The Shop Dudes!
Good night you all.
Im here for the kittens.
Man, I love the sound of an old 7.3!
As always, awesome video! Glad you got that miss worked out. Can’t wait to see this truck doing truck things!
I love the new Diff cover. Now I want one for my OBS.
New shocks first though!
hello with you two. I think it's super exciting to see what you do and do. I wish I had someone like you to teach me how to do things when I was doing my education. you are super good at showing what you do, you do it in a fun way and you get something out of it that you can use for something, and you show that it is ok to make a mistake. thank you for taking time to show it. you are both fantastic👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
That’s certainly our goal! Sure do thank you for watching, commenting and showing support ❤
The Turbo spools up pretty quick. I like that.
The exhaust sounds beffy now.
Great fun as always 🎉 now Emily and Aaron have nice rear ends. Can’t wait to see the the Ford and Roxy next to each other. 😂 Gotcha.
Love this build 🎉🎉❤❤❤❤and with these motors 90% of the time it’s valve cover gasket, and the only one I’ve ever had really good luck with is always going back with Ford /international parts on those! Definitely wish I could bend like that!!😢😢❤❤
My old 96 f 250 I replaced the turbo 3 times in 500k before I traded it in, oh 3 cluches and windshield too great video and great job with your truck and God bless from GA stay safe
Last time I popped the diff cover off to drain into a metal trash can I heard the rather disturbing sound of gear teeth falling out, from 6ft in the air on the lift. Not to mention lots of "lovely" sparkles. I'd cleaned all the teeth off the sun gears on my "HD" Holden diff.
Oh and Finlay is so dang cute.
Very informative video thanks a lot
Hey Emily and Aaron 👋, great video on learning fine points on checking out things first. But that looks good. Thanks for sharing 👍
Emily & Aaron, what a great Video, i love the fact that you admitted your mistakes up front, keep up the great Videos.
Congratulations
Thank you for answering, love y'alls videos .
I enjoy watching your videos you guys make great content and you guys are very nice people
Love the vids guys 👍
Only tech tip keep everything loose so it can move a little when assembling and use ‘dishwashing fluid’ inside the rubber/silicone hoses as a lubricant to help getting everything on. Dishwashing fluid doesn’t hurt the hoses. It’s what we use as a CAT dealer for all big hoses that a tight fits over the rolled edges.
Love the channel . More 7.3 videos please . Learning alot. Just got one .tryna dial it down .
Love that outro look, it is good on you
Aaron. Damn dude. Ya having fun. Awesome.
Great episode always enjoy stay warm
V-bands and Wiggins clamps all you need
Aaron took us to the Gun Show. 😂😂
I bought a brand new 04 power stroke the first year they came out, It stayed in the shop more than I drove it with injector problems! Enjoy watching y’all’s videos from central Fl.
👋👋 hey found u guys last night. And I watched yr video on the banks installation 👍 I’m working on a 97 myself just rebuilt the engine. Tuner . But not a inner cooler 😢 . But I’ll keep watching to c what u guys do next 👍👋👋😊
Gotta love the warranties
You have a $100. part bad off the self new. You have it installed and find out it's bad. They gladly replace the part, but NOW you are paying twice for the same labor for thier bad part.
Even if your doing your own labor, it's a pain in the butt
I love my 7.3, 96 E350 van 381K. The main part of the block has never been opened up. I.bought it in Nov of 2019 and it had 331K on the odometer from the original owners stepson. Yes he had changed water pumps, alternator starter and such. At 100000 mi the Ford factory did a recall on the injectors and they changed them and the wired valve cover gaskets.
The stepson was a tinkerer and did all other work on the van and motor himself. I've been putting about 12000 a year except for 1 year it was parked for Aprox 10 months. Thought about putting a Banks kit like the one you used but less room and so.much harder to work.on than a pickup. Like you said it's Fords million mile engine (Actually International's) Great engine. Thank you for your channel.

The vacuum pump falls over and your grip tray barely moved...lol
