The two of you have such a great chemistry together, you also are so happy and positive. It's uplifting to watch your videos. Great diagnostics Aaron!!!!!!!
As a Harley guy and a car guy of 57 years young.! I love the fact that you include the animals a little in your videos. Keep up the awesome content and banter with one another. We / I am sure all appreciate it beyond your comprehension!
You only need to pull the bottom bolt out of the injector. The retainer rocks up and slides away to pull the injector without pulling the top bolt. Those oil deflectors for the injector are used to keep the exhaust oil from wearing a hole in the valve cover gaskets or blowing oil under the gasket.
Nice diagnosis Aaron. Nice to see you giving the Ford truck a new lease of life. Nice quality Banks upgrades. I like that Banks are emissions compliant and have data to back their products.
I feel blessed being the oldest one in the shop and still the only one who lay under a dash wiring the car all day. but, I am not so sure I was that smart starting a career as a mechanic at 53. Watching Emily sit all hunched over under the truck makes my neck hurt.
Murphy's Law Never disappoints! "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong, and at the worst possible time." GG Guys! Great Video and Thanks for sharing!
Yes I remember the gear oil smell for sure. Worse is the old special posi oil they used in my 66 Chevelle! Years ago I accumulated an assortment of various sizes, lengths and thread pitch bolts, cut the heads off and use them to align and help hold parts like that cover in place until I can get the bolts in. Often makes those jobs easier. I've bought rebuilt water pumps for a small block Chevy that had the impeller installed backward so it happens! Good work on all of those jobs!
Hint, slide the clamp on over the pipe first and well down the pipe out of the way. Then slide the boot on over the lip on the pipe. Then slide the clamp back into the correct position. Yes they can be a pain. 😊
Differential soup, awesome! Oh wait, sparkly differential soup! This has to be my favorite video of yours so far! My '96 7.3 with 371,000 may need an injector someday and certainly needs a new set of glow plugs. I'll be watching parts of this again when that time comes! Keep up the good work!
I'm sorry you spent an unnecessary $300, but I'm glad you showed me how to properly change an injector and test the gasket/harness in case I ever need to on mine. That was very interesting. Thank you both....and Finley too. Be safe!
Can I just say THANK YOU! for putting the exhaust out the side! If you're going to trailer with a truck, the last thing you want is the exhaust blowing at you while you're hitching things up. I know it's the appearance fad these days, and even most factory trucks are coming with that, but it just doesn't make sense to me.
Great 7.3 video. Rolled over 1/4 million miles on mine and will keep it for life. Don't know about your truck but just had to replace o'rings on the oil/water cooler. Hard as rocks and puked oil on a cold start.

52:30 mentions youtube comments trolling the gripmat. Seconds later, the vaccum pump unleashes an unprovoked frontal assault, and the gripmat indeed stands it's ground and holds the position well! 😂😂
Happy to see the OBS getting some love! For anyone that doesn’t know, FORScan is a fantastic program for diagnostics on a 7.3 or any OBD 2 Ford vehicle. Free/chrap to download to a laptop or the lite version on your phone to have on the road. Just have to buy the adapter
I retired from Dow Chemical in Freeport, Texas. They too use microbes. It was a plant called the "Bio Ponds" we just called it the "Bug Pond." All the wastewater from all the plants went to the Bio-Ponds before being released to the river after the outfall was analyzed of course. If the "bugs" in the pond got sick, the entire Plant-B Division may have to be shutdown which would cost millions of dollars. They took loving care of the "bugs."
@@neoncatfish4038 My Mom lived on the corner of Ave H and something in Danbury for a longtime. Yep, all I guess all the plants had to have a way to clean up the wastewater before discharging out.

I've seen dino and synthetic from the same brand not play nice with each other and sludge an engine. Some goober I know was using 3 quarts conventional and 3 quarts synthetic to make a "custom" blend in their new LS and changed oil every 3000. That was a real mess when they went full synthetic still with that brand and 1000 miles later all the sludge in the engine cut loose. Ever had an engine suddenly start trying to shake itself out of the mounts because 5w30 suddenly got thicker than gear oil? The engine ended up being fine but still scary. That truck was traded 30,000 miles later with 44k on it still running perfect. Only makes sense that it could happen with diff oil too. That's why I always tell people to pick an oil and stick with it. And I'm so glad I wasn't able to smell that old diff oil because it seems like the more beat up it is the worse it smells. BTW, I'm in my 40's now and get reminded that I'm not as durable and flexible as I used to be. Take care of yourself now because that will make a huge difference in how your body works later.
