- It's crazy how what may seem like a minor upgrade, can completely change your whole interior! Check out this video, where I change EVERY bulb on the interior of my 300ZX to LED. I also took the opportunity to install chrome gauge rings on the cluster since I knew I'd be taking all that apart anyways. I purchased the gauge rings from Z1 Motorsports and the LED kit from ZShack Performance. Make sure you guys hit the like button if you think it looks CLEAN and remember to subscribe if you haven't already. Stay tuned for more!

For anyone trying these, use a heatgun to soften the glue and it should just come off by hand, then stick those rings in a freezer for a couple of hours to shrink the metal a little bit, might help with the installation
DONT TAKE THE GLUE OFF!!! You can literally just flip it around, take the 2 screws off the sides, push all of the little tabs through and it takes the clear plastic panel off along with the bezel!!! Everyone is cutting through the glue which is a waste of time and risky! The whole thing disassembles in a way that makes it easy to put back together. It takes 2mins to disassemble it!
Not a fan of the trim rings but it does look great in your setup. I opted for the blue main cluster and white pods. I have to say this is the most detailed tutorial on installing led in the dash cluster and the key ring. Could have used this years ago. Finally someone has finally provided a detail guide for many new and older owners!
Man I was hyped to see that key ring light....
I’m mad the pack I ordered didn’t have the key ring light 😑
as a night time viewer, my only request is to closer match the volume of your music to the volume of your voice in the scene as that can be deafening at times when music kicks in then your voice is low in comparison. adjusting volume is a killer. other then that small thing, content is killer! keep at it broskie!
🙏🏾! Definitely aware of that and trying to fix this in the newer videos. Thanks!
You did an AMAZING job! Thanks for making this video and showing us how you did everything.
That's looks great now I want to do mine
A Dremel tool with sanding wheel could reduce the outer surface of rings for easier insertion. Taking the clear panel off looked scary. I'd be concerned about re-gluing too well in case there is a next time. You have great natural vid making skills with content people want. Now I can put my rings in I've had for 3 years and do LEDs while I'm at it.
Thanks so much!
Man,I got lucky installing my black rings. On my 94' the cluster body separated easily with removal of two screws on rear and unlocking a few tension tangs, and did not have to cut n re-glue clear lens.
Heads up, if you want to add the Carbon Fiber dash, the rings will not fit without modification. I just glued my rings to it
Great job brother. Love the content
Great! I noticed the Japan market rear lenses too✔
Those trim rings look awesome! 👌
Super nice i did my and plastic bleached clear items even the cigarette lighter ring it takes the z 32 on the present 202$ my respect 🫡 to any body doing this up grade z cluster
Nice job man nice z car 🙏🏾😃
Looks great! That is something I want to do on my 300zx TT.
Definitely motivated me to get this done lol. 👍
Nice Alberta car
DO NOT CUT THROUGH THE GLUE! The whole front cover for the gauges comes off revealing the gauges!! Just unscrew the two screws on the back, pop the black tabs, and your gauges are accessible!!
Nice! Makes me want to get a 300ZX!
Nice Bro. Thank you
clean car, great work bro
love the led look, i just wish they gave a red transparent sticker same size and shape as the max red line indicator to put over back side of rpm gauge so when new leds light through it it is a solid red and not a washed out red, or even purple when blue bulbs are used. that my only pet piece with led bulbs. otherwise. beautiful
When I did my LED's a few years ago it felt like an entire new car when I turned them on! Guage rings look good too. When I did mine I didn't have to take the plastic off like you did. Mine came off with the black part attached and I was able to pop in the rings. Perhaps its just a 90 thing? Don't know.
Great content! Just need to fix and match the volume of your voice and background music.
Nice car good job
Thanks!
Once u touch the needles is game over I have had experience on other cars where if u move the needles a little bit they get discalivrated and won't work anyomore
Great job! Amazing how much more light there can be in these cars. I have a 94 convertible so only one overhead light above the rearview mirror so switched to LED and BAM! Let there be light!! Hey, what size is your steering wheel, 320mm?
Honestly I’m not sure what size it is! 😅
I have the same problem with the eveness of the lighting across the dash-- just off slightly
Nice work! LEDs are a nice upgrade toward modernity for our interiors, however, after years of LEDs in the cluster and pods, I grew to miss the original soft halogen glow and thoroughly enjoy the stock bulbs in my other Z.
I suggest getting a new dome light lense, makes a dramatic difference! Also, hope you cleaned your key ring. They’re usually dirty which heavily diffuses the light. A clean ring is much nicer, but you can also buy the ring brand new as well, for max crisp just like the dome.
Quick Q, what size bulbs were the map lights? Haven’t been able to confirm anything online…
Oh yea, ash tray bulb is #74 too. Same as key ring 👍🏼
That’s exactly why I kept every old bulb I removed, incase I ever want to switch back but honestly I’m super happy with this right now!
Good advice! I’ll definitely get a new dome lens and see if I can find a key ring as well. I did clean the key ring but it was still old yellowish plastic now and not clear like it should be.
Unfortunately I’m not exactly sure what size the map lights were. The bag they were in was just labeled that they were the map light bulbs.
Nice work. I am actually in the process of going LED as well. I pieced my kit together separately as I had a lot of bulbs already from previous projects too. I haven't gotten to the pods yet, may just buy the pod led kit from Zshack to simplify finding those. We'll see. But great work and yes, please keep the content coming.
Anyone know where I can get those trim rings now? Z1 doesn’t offer them anymore.
Hey Faraz, used your vid to help me get out my gauge cluster to send out for speedo repair, thanks. I want to swap out cluster bulbs to led but cannot find answer anywhere to my question. Can you tell me if you can use dimmer switch to dim the leds as I don't want them at full brightness all the time especially at night as they may be too bright. Will the bulbs dim? thanks
I haven’t driven my car in months lol but I am 99% sure my LEDs I got for the interior from Zshack dim. I’m pretty much certain they do. It depends on the LEDs you buy, make sure you have dimmable LEDs and you’re set
@@FarazXAhmed thanks for reply
@@FarazXAhmed Not really the bulbs themselves.I dug a little more, finally asked google and got much info. The voltage of the LEDs not matching the OEM system creates issues. Either full on or off, flickering, uneven light, etc. So it does not seem possible. Perhaps possible with some sophisticated wiring in of new type switch at new location. They look nice in daytime but I think too bright at night for me. I usually dim dash lights a night. I think I'll stick with OEM style. Look forward to your next vid.
What exhaust is that?
For the floor lights do you have to remove the whole cable or is it just the bulb ?
Just the bulb! It’s clipped into the square white piece from the side, just twist and remove and the bulb comes out with the wire, replace the bulb and put it back into the square thing buy twisting it back in
slmz bro. my name is also Faraaz
Man, how did you change the footwell bulbs?! Please I need to know!
Very difficult lol, it’s almost impossible to grab that little piece with the bulb with your fingers but you’ll get it eventually lol then just twist it and pull it out, then fight it again to put it back in lol the small clear piece of plastic stays where it is, grab the wire going into it from the side and twist and pull that out
Thank you, they’re 74 bulbs I believe. I’m about to change my cluster bulbs out as well. How long would you say this takes without the gauge rings?
Where did yoy get the rear wide body from
All the aero mods are twinz
I accidentally moved the gas hand and I now forever have a full tank of gas
Did u ever fix that, i have the same problem
@@chrismendoza612 nope 😭😭
Didn't show the ignition switch light 😢
Great job otherwise!
Will you be doing a NA TT conversion?
100%! Next winters project as it will take me a long time, planing on doing a full engine bay clean up once I pull the engine
@@FarazXAhmed that'll be awesome man ! I have same color z bone stock na 91 , and I have a new na engine for it , slowly piecing everything I need to make the conversion,
@@FarazXAhmed 🔥🔥 content btw ! , Also are you on e85? Haven't heard of anyone running e85 on a na ,
Thank you! No just pump gas for me. I’m in Canada and there’s no E85 anywhere near me. So I’ll be doing the NA-TT with pump gas
@Alfredo Martinez it's already been done by powerfab motorspots 🙄 they got into the 300mph, if u didn't think people already did this then you must be new to youtube lol
subbed.. I my self bought a 1990 300zx as well.. the only difference between our is mine is rhd and previous owner did a vh45de manual swap... keep up the good work bud
Thanks for the sub!
Then we forgot that there's already so many 300z videos already on RUclips... that we seen played out 100times, get a new car, new content lol
What exhaust is that?
