“We get angry because we want to get out of the feeling of anxiety”
This is a very good insight. I think it is what many people experience, which is why they lash out and is unable to reason rationally with themselves out of anger.

@@Psych2go I believe there was many factors, I've seen close ones including myself having these anger issues from time to time, and in my case not knowing the reason behind it. Like Dr. Conte was saying one underlying factor could be anxiety, to be honest I didn't even know I was dealing with it until today. Bringing up something relatable as road rage because it is so common was amazing. How we deal with expectations, and how alot of our feelings depends on how we treat ourselves and what words we use. Also how we apply these thoughts and practicing it, making it a habit. I like learning about emotions and how people work, to be able to help myself and others!
To sum it up, the topics were interesting and I believe relatable to alot of people. I really liked the illustrations and the positive and wholesome vibe you guys had, it was contagious. The chronological order of what emotions you were speaking of was also really well put, making it easier to understand. I believe I learned more about how to deal with my emotions in such a short time than I ever have. This wisdom is so valuable.
I'd be happy to see another video like this about other common emotions that people go through with more examples.
      Thank you again!

Management of one's emotions rather than one being managed by their emotions - sound like a good theory. But then there are those who provoke, mock, and antagonize, to down right lie to get their way. Even when you attempt to excuse yourself from their berating, that simply means that they've got you more than half of the way to where they want you, and so they cease to desist and continue with their verbal abuses.

I’ve experienced a lot of anger, sadness, irritation in the past 3 years from starting my college due to losing some family, and being home so much, taking online classes, it just took a tole on me and got me to lash out a lot at my family. This has really helped me understand my emotions a lot better and the understanding of this side of psychology.

When he talked about cartoon realities, it reminded me of something Blindboy said on the Blindboy Podcast, about each of us having a set of personal rules that they subconsciously expect the rest of the world to go by, and when one of these rules is broken by someone, it's very upsetting, but it's important to remember that everyone's personal rules are different depending on what is important to them. This was an excellent stream, would love to see more like this.

It also makes sense for someone such as myself experiencing psychosis, cuz for so many yrs ive always never wanted to admit that i would have to live with this. I wondered y i had it, y i dealt with it, how i could change it, and so on. But explained in this context makes so much sense. Ty. Also, accurate language i believe is a biggie!!! I remember making a speech during my previous semester of school that talks about the benefits of therapy. Mental health is something that I feel passionate about, and one complexity that I'll sometimes ponder on and off again is trauma. This is something I brought up in my speech as a subpoint, but I think it'd be interesting to hear Dr. Conte's thoughts on trauma and what his experiences are with that, or if he ever comes in contact with patients who have trauma.

There is one God, who created Heaven and Earth. He made us in His image and likeness. He made us to worship and we chose to rebel against God. As a result we are seperated from God but God didn’t leave us. Instead God sent His one and only Son, His Son is Jesus. He was born of a virgin and lived a life without sin, though He was tempted in every way as we are. He went on the cross and He willingly took our sins past, present and future. Jesus died in my place for my sins, paying my debt to God and purchasing my salvation. Jesus died but He rose on the third day victory over satan, sin, demons and hell. Jesus tells us to share this story of the Good News and there’s a God that lovingly pursues us. Jesus is coming to judge the living and the dead and those who trust in God will forever be with Him in His Kingdom and those who do not will suffer forever in hell.
The good news is that Jesus Christ died on the cross for all of humanity's sins, He took our punishment upon Himself so we could be reconciled with God the Father, it shows we can only go to Heaven because of the finished work Jesus did on the cross and not of ourselves
