i cant tell you how much i have been enjoying these 'a guide to' videos, looking forward to more of them!
Thanks so much!
I know you said in your "getting started" video that Cawdor isnt the best gang to start with but for me the are just so cool it will be worth the learning curve!
Agreed! Go forth my righteous brother
Just ordered a HEAP of Cawdor, thanks for the video, I'm extremely excited to bring the Emperors light to all within the Underhive!!!
Appreciate the effort dude! These videos are helping my group get started with Necromunda
That's great to hear! Glad make stuff of value nomatter how small it may be!
These faction breakdowns are always great, but I do find a follow up series covering suggestions for start up gangs for each faction. 1) Best value for real money, i.e best value starting gang build from a single box and 2) Best all-round builds to start your gang with for 1000 credits, using start gang boxes and upgrade sprues, special forgeworld characters etc.
Great suggestions, it's just too much to fit into one vid so yeah I think I'll likely take your advice and do separate vids for such things too. Cheers :)
Check out Commander Cheapskates channel! There’s so much great content creators for Necromunda
I loved the old eviserator rules plus’s 3 strength can’t be parried but in the old rules if you drew in combat ya opponent could auto hit you however a great weapon . And for 30 creds
It’s demoralizing knowing that Cawdor is so much better and more interesting than most of the other gangs.
More interesting but certainly not better than
Have you ever faced a good van sarr gang? 😅 on the wrong map cawdor don't stand a chance.... as with all things in necromunda, can totally depend of the scenery and campaign.
Fantastic video man! I’m just delving into necromunda and I’m falling in love with house Cawdor. This video is an absolute blessing
Thank you! They're definitely my favorite house gang lore-wise, and arguably the most fun to play too along with Delaque. Enjoy!
You know what, saying you don’t expect anyone to watch the whole thing makes me need to watch the whole thing out of spite so take that
Going back through your old videos! They are great
Glad you like them!
Another video already? Thanks! Great videos - what deep dives.
Feel better, man.
I don't mess around 🤣
Just finished my first campaign with these guys and wish I'd seen this earlier. Great gang, great video.
Praise the Throne brother!
I am the same man, I am an Atheist and Cawdor have the best fluff and look. Love them man and thanks for the great video.
Just to mention I have roughly 68 Current Cawdor members lol
68!!? Surely one more!?
Does the Stig Shambler count as 2 or is it 68 1/2 :p
@@wellywoodwargaming
Yeah more like 68 and 1/3rd?
Fantastic video! Incredibly useful for someone like me who's currently preparing a screeching horde of fanatical ragmen for our upcoming campaign. Thanks a lot for your work and insight!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for your hard work on the vids
Great video. Looking forward to Delaque.
Great video!
2 hours... Nice. First time i ever hear something about this house. Very interesting. Next weekend our first campaign, im a little bit hyped 😬
"excuse me sir, do you have a minute to hear about the holy emperor?" 2 hours later... 😅
@@wellywoodwargaming 😂👍
I'm a beginner, and like you despite being an atheist ive always been drawn to the ecclesiarchy vibe, back in the day i had my witch hunters codex, if I play marines I'm a black templar and I just think that brutal fire and faith is the ultimate expression of the 40k universe. so naturally I'm drawn instantly to Cawdor :')
Couldn't agree more!
Dude… in no way was (or is) the Redemption associated with the KKK. The pointed hoods are capirotes - used primarily in Spanish catholic tradition, especially the inquisition in this case. It’s meant to invoke connotations of religious zealotry rather than racial bigotry.
Exactly, Seen alot of pictures of capirotes being used as evidence of kkk still being rife in America. You can tell they are not klan by the small red and yellow patch on the robe.
100%unfortunately that's what alot of ppl see when they saw those models and in the day and age of being canceled gw switched them as ridiculous as it is
it's an understandable assumption if you aren't aware of the aesthetics of the Spanish inquisition from centuries ago. there's a similar issue with Krieg where people think "Nazi" even though they're meant to be an amalgamation of ww1 trench warfare uniforms (not aided by nazi larpers who paint them black)
Result of US cultural prevalence, even the Brits link the hoods to the KKK, and those outfits are used to this day in religious processions and ceremonies, not even a question of knowing the history of Spanish Catholicism. 😂
Honestly the ignorance of people calling capriotes kkk makes me furious every, single, time. It is lazily inserting politics based upon having the concept incorrect.
Here in louisiana, we use them in mardigras celebrations. And honestly i have **never ** seen the clan in public.
Been catching up on these vids last couple of weeks. Curious on how yiu oaint your models, because the ones linked to each video look 👍
Deliverance?! Jesus Christ I need to read this book 🤣
yes yes house of faith is also the house of the horned rat, (insert happy hurd noises)
would love to see van Saar next.
In my experience most staunch anti-theists/Atheists play the more fanatical armies.
This video is pefect for me, I learned a lot from it. I have one question for Devout masses and "And the people Rose Up in their multitudes to aid
Him!" rule. What equipment can I get to the "new" fighters? I haven't found anything about max point/credit cost.
Thank you. If you can, keep these videos coming.
Thanks! They are just fighters in your gang with whatever you want to give them. You still have to pay the credits for them. You just get them as extra in your games compared to everyone else
@@wellywoodwargaming so if I play first game, and my 1000 kredit is spent, i can't really use it the first time right?
It rains... with ZEAL!!!
Aaaaaand I’m starting a candor gang! Any recommendations on what to buy? I think I’m gonna lean heavily into redemptionists 🔥
2 boxes of redemptionists is all you'll need then 😁
@@wellywoodwargaming does the redemptionist box come with any other war gear options on the frames other the what's shown on the built models?
Hail all
Hail!
Question on shotgun ammo the house of faith book says inferno ammo has knock back and not blaze but the retributor ammo has blaze is this a misprint
Sounds like it yeah. Inferno ammo should definitely have blaze
This has been corrected in the FAQ to include Blaze
Hmmm while studies do correlate lower iq with increased religiosity, these differences are better explained by socio-economic status, access to education, urbanisation and environmental discrimination. Also most studies were limited to Christians. Speaking for my own community, Buddhists, doesn't seem like we are more or less intelligent than gen pop.
See for the redemptionists what's a good starting list?
If you're going pure redemptionist I like zealots with eviscerators for the higher movement, gangers with auto/shot guns with exterminators, champion with a firepike, champion with a grenade launcher perhaps and then a leader with chain axes and exterminators :)
@@wellywoodwargaming thanks man I normally play goliath and what a change and the squats are not doing it for me and love the redemptionists models.
Well that's me sold on them lol made my list and ordered the models.
What other gangs are good at horde type play beyond cawdor?
Outcasts and chaos helots for sure
Lol. Not a fan of Cawdor personally but love your passion(fanaticism maybe?).
I wouldn't say that out loud brother... they'll lynch you for that...
"Your lack of faith disturbs me".
Lights up the flamer.
@@ash_durant6071 light the bonfires brother!
@@wellywoodwargaming In case you did not see it I can recommend a figure from Legends of Signum called Lucrezia the Rat Doctor.
It really is a nice fit for the Cawdor estethic ;-)
@@wellywoodwargaming of course. Praise the emperor!
Correction, Sawn-off shotgun scatter shot rounds are not s3, they are s2. Big difference.
No, they are s3. Scatter on a regular shotgun is s2. It's literally the whole point in sawnoff shotguns dude. Go back and have a read of the rule book.
@@wellywoodwargaming
I did,
Sawn-off shotgun
- With scatter shot 4" 8" +2 - 2 - 1 4+ Plentiful, Scattershot
Please note there's no "3" in there, go back and have a read of the rule book :D
@@marcusgege2094 very strange. Perhaps there's a misprint or two in several books then. In mine it clearly says st3... weird
@@marcusgege2094 I've just checked 4 separate official sources randomly, house of iron, blades, artifice and the gw trading post download and all say s3 mate 👍
@@wellywoodwargaming How extremely strange... I'm looking at the House of Faith book and it has sawn-off shotgun, shotgun and combat shotgun, (although the combat shotgun's equivallent is "shredder ammo"), all with S2 on scattershot. I've also looked at the trade post and I do indeed see S3. I literally played against a guy using scattershot and he was hitting for S2. I am not convinced either way at this point.
Awww, times changed huh? Returned to Necromunda recently after 20+yrs. My LGS won't allow my original redemptionist models to be played. My other complete gangs are scavvy and ratskin. Have half a spyrer team. Donated a few of those to be hired guns and rolled a Goliath gang. (LGS gave me the models in swap for a few 90s metal pieces)
Just ask players if they want to play round your house?
Sounds like you got ripped off

Capriotes are not kkk…
Kkk use them.
However they are a mark of penance.
If you are going to dip into disparaging religious people or throw about talk of the kkk. Do so more delicately. I question if you, living in the uk have any real conception of them beyond politics. It puts a palor on this video. Please avoid politics in the future. I wanna hear about big chain saws and flamers!
Smell worse than wear
You need to up your game bud. Your a teacher, you should know better. Verbally describing house Cawdor for 2 hours? Thumbnails have been dope, but that is literally the most exciting thing about these videos. So disappointed to not see anything visually represented. Nice paint jobs and I’m very interested in some of the conversions I’ve seen in said thumbnails.Need to edit in some pics from your own stash or some from your mates models. Without visual reference (in your other gang focused videos)to what you are actually talking about it’s very confusing for a person like myself interested in getting into Necromunda.
Hey, I wanted to ask about the devout masses skill. How do you think does it work? Is it +1/+d3 per ganger/juve you take to battle, so that if you take 3 gangers you get +3 gangers? Or is it just that if a scenario says "7minis per Player" you can add 1 ganger and d3 juves to the battle, from the people that were not selected for the battle?
You pick you fighters as per the scenario rules, then you get to add your extra fighters based on the initially selected fighters. For each ganger in the initial group you add 1 ganger. For each Juve in the initial group you add D3 juves.
@@craigjones7343I’m pretty sure what you’ve said is wrong and you can only get a maximum of +1 ganger and +3 juves per scenario (if you roll well) from the devout masses rule
Wait... what's the point of a horde gang in necromunda if each scenario limits the model count equally for both players?
Good question. While many scenarios do have limits. The mechanics with cawdor specifically allow you to go over the limit 😁
@@wellywoodwargaming oh cool ok! Was working in the foothills, the rest of the video won't play lol. Only able to get a few minutes in until I get home. Ty so much!
@@wellywoodwargaming 😂 30:50 yes! That's was awesome!
