New Necromunda player here. I’m really enjoying these guides. Even without really knowing the rules, I still get a pretty good pictures of what the gangs are like. 👍🏻
There's another way to get a spawn. In the additional rules there are rules for mutations as a extra to the serious injury chart for chaos gangs. If someone get multiple mutations there's a chance they'll spawn out.
Thanks for the video mate, The Demagogue "may not be equipped with any heavy weapons but otherwise they have no weapon restrictions." - The book of ruin, page 30. This means they *can* be equipped with special weapons. Mine has a long rifle 🙂. please keep up the videos, they are really good.
Great overview as usual :) About the Slaanesh's favor (+2 Movement on Leader): technically advancing M on the leader twice would cost you 12 Xps (5+7) so it is of equivalent XP value to Khorne and Nurgle's stat buffs for the leader, while Tzeench's favour grants you something you can't normally get for XPs (you could become a wyrd by rolling 11-12 on the Chaos House favors table in the Book of Justice or Book of Ruin), so from that point of view they are all roughly equivalent, it is more down to your gang's flavour. From a purely 'game-y' perspective Slaneesh and Tzeench could be argued to be the most reliable/useful favors overall (Slaneesh if you want to lean on Melee, Tzeench if you want to lean on ranged/psychic) Anyway, keep up the good work and cheers :)
Thanks, I've played some games with helots and figured out the more bodies-theory by myself but was out of clue what to do with demagogue and specialists. In a three-way 1500crd ash waste skirmish I had 14 bodies and two vehicles. Van Saar and Escher players seemed unsure what to do.
18:25 You can't pick who is affected by a dark ritual. It's always random (but never your leader). The only time you can choose is if you have a captive
@@wellywoodwargaming Verbatim from the rule book it says the following LEAD RITUAL First, decide which of the Chaos gods the ritual is invoking: Khorne, Nurgle, Slaanesh or Tzeentch. "If desired, a single member of the gang may be randomly chosen" to be the focus of the ritual and offered up to be a vessel of the god’s power. Make a deck of all of the gang’s Fighter cards, removing the Cult Demagogue card(s) and only including one card for each Cult Disciple (should a Cult Disciple have more than one equipment set). Then draw one card at random. Alternatively, if the gang is holding a Captive that, if held by another gang would be eligible to be sold to the Guilders (see page 56 of Gang War Four), the Captive may be sacrificed to fuel the ritual.
I'm still giving this a thumbs up because your content is outstanding, but we got some serious duality of man going on here. "If you're a power gamer don't play necromunda". In your squat guide you said this within a few minutes of saying "whenever I see a new gang I immediately think how can I beat them, that's how my tactical mind works". Like pick one man, you can't have it both ways talking all that crap.
Hmmm...you'd think these guys, off all, would be able to take a space marine as a leader...one of those blue/green ones, with silver trim and a 3 -headed hydra logo....
Thanks for a great video. As a keen chaos player in 40K I have recently started playing Necromunda. I have a cultist gang and the book of ruin, but was unaware of the leader bonuses gained from the rituals. Which book are they contained in, as the book of ruin only gives gang boons as far as I can tell. Thanks gain for you great work.
Should all be in the book of ruin for both Helot gangs and tainted house gangs, including the dark rituals, I actually don't own that particular book though myself so can't say for definite
Are you gonna talk about house corrupted gangs later on maybe? I could see it being it's own video since you can corrupt any of the house gangs with genestealer cults or any of the chaos gods. I've got a Delaque tzeentch cult modeled on the corvus cabal - using the guy on stilts as a psycomancers harness. He just keeps flying into walls(Goliaths) and breaking his neck tho. I still don't have a handle on how to play them 😅
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems the 'book of the outcast' wyrd powers seem to errata any psyker (unless stated otherwise) from any gang to take any of the disciplines in the 'book of the outcast' - without needing the arbitrator's permission.
Well there's nothing on paper to actually state that but I would agree that this should be as intended, otherwise any wyrd prior to that book is a bit crap by contrast
@@wellywoodwargaming GW and their rules right?? Well the way the rules seem to have been written: (unless specified otherwise) All fighters with the (S/NS) 'Pysker special rule' start with a single Wyrd power: either chosen from their gang list or from one of the disciplines presented here (book of the outcast). So to me it reads, as long as he/she has the psyker special rule and not a predetermined GW dramatis personae, then pick either from the gang list powers or disciplines presented in the book of the outcast.
Thanks for the video, just about to start a campaign with helots. I’m thinking of running demagogue with overseer - or is this too cheesy?! Also following book of outcasts it sounds as though you could start your witch could start with a savant skill AND wyrd power, although this seems a bit OP?
actually i think overseer is a great choice for hordey gangs like helots, outcasts and cawdor and doesn't feel too bad really. I personally like to have my leaders making their own impact on games though and overseer does feel a bit dull at times, though there is no denying how good it can be for sure 👍
I take my Leader with a special weapon as the book of ruin says he cant have heavy, was it FAQed somewhere to say he cant have special weapons? i gave him a long rifle
Curious, Why do you think 40k i better ballanced for competitive play than necromunda? 40k is a dumpster fire ballancewise. Imho no gang is that much behind in necro. Only some missions are near impossible to win.
I know 40k isn't balanced but you don't see necromunda tournaments really and if you did I certainly would not be interested in playing them tbh. I agree on necro gangs all being arguably competitive with each other 100%
@@wellywoodwargaming why then? You just want to goof around (might sound harsh) while playing? Theres a great chance to mix story and linked games while having ballanced competitive games. I just wonder. Half my local scene shares your veiw.

I'm so glad I found this channel! Right up my alley and useful. It's sealed my decision to get back into necromunda after all these years.
Thanks that means a lot!
I think this gang looks fluffy and flavorful. The idea of the spawn being a brute of chance sounds so entertaining.
Always great videos, trying to learn the game.

Forgot about that one! I was going to do a video on corrupted gangs at some point so I'll make sure to cover that
@@wellywoodwargaming That'll be cool. It can add so much to gang planning. You're doing great so far even if I am three weeks behind! Haha

There are only 2 videos on house Escher. I'd love one on them!
I'll get there eventually, however, they are the gang I have the least experience with actually

Kia Ora! It's how we greet people in Te Reo Maori
what do you think I should equip my second champion with? (one has grenade launcher) I was thinking about giving my specialist a long rifle.
