    IMO, if you want to take a walk on the wild side, a chaos corrupted house gang is your best bet. You still get all your regular house gang stuff, plus a lot of the options from the Helot gang.

      It basically comes down to how much you want to use a Witch. They're, like, the only reason to use a helot cult really haha

      Cultists better than many house gangs lol

    Really informative and helpful thank you so much. Also absolutely inspired me to scrounge up some old minis to see what I can build. In this case the janky old rules feel like an upside. I didn't like it if house gangs could all use trading post weapons on normal fighters but here it feels appropriately weird. Hex Iron blades for everyone! That would ruel with Unmade minis from Warcry. I dunno all sorts of just weeeeird stuff shoudl be possible there.

      Glad you liked it! Yeah there is a certain appeal with Cultists being kind of a blank slate to equip and do with as you want in terms of modeling which is pretty cool. I think I'd mostly just like a CC champion option (or give the existing ones an extra attack and WS), the ability to take a 2nd Witch, and maybe some more exciting bespoke powers so multiple witches wouldn't be super game breaking. Give me that and I'd be much happier with the state of Helot Cults

      @@digitalwastrel Fair enough. I doubt we'll get it and chaos corrupted house gangs are probably supposed to cover it but it would be nice. For me I'd love easer access to spawn. But the list as it is, at least adds something unique and interesting because it is so bonkers.

    Any chance you could keep with the Chaos theme and do a video on Corpse Grinder Cults?
    Great vid btw! I'm learning tons so keep them coming!

    Question on wyrd - you said its wyrd power or skill, which makes sense for heliot cultists. What about Delaque champions where you pay 30 credits at gang creation? I assume that 30 creds means wyrd (from Delaque) plus a skill? Otherwise why pay the 30?!? Been wondering this for awhile but cant find it in writing.
    Also thanks again for another amazing guide!

    For anyone reading, wondering about the book overload GW has inflicted on this game: The Black Market is now in the Core Rules, so unless you want the Law and Misrule campaign or Enforcers there is no need to buy the Book of Judgement. I feel like Enforcers will probably be the next gang to get an update as they currently have the oldest rules, so BoJ will probably go away at that point. Secondly, the way the ritual rules are written, if you leader dies you can't ever do the ritual again, because while a replacement gains the leader role and special rules, they do not become a Demagogue (with a capital d). Obviously this is not the intent and everyone lets replacement do the ritual!

      I hope all the pre-House-of gangs (helots, enforcers, etc) get updates and streamlined rules but i also think theres a pretty good chance they just get forgotten about sadly

    There's no infp about specialist at the beginning. Just an access to special weapon for 1 ganger. If you know where it is stated, please direct to the book page

    • @digitalwastrel
      @digitalwastrel  Год назад +1

      Yeah I think I was probably saying "specialist" as short hand for "can carry a special weapon" rather than an actual specialist. I always get more excited over guns than skills though!

    • @blairbrendasmith7798
      @blairbrendasmith7798 8 месяцев назад

      But it also states that special weapons can be taken by helot cultists as they are added to the roster. I think helot cultists can take special weapons if it in your gang stash as you purchase or add new helots since they can take weapons and equipment from your gang stash instead of purchasing said equipment or weapons

    Thanks. a very good overview. Just one query about the chaos spawn: I read somewhere that you can really increase your chances of getting one by doing one dark rituals to (for example) Tzeentch, and then the next dark ritual you do change to another god. And that should make the chances that you’ll get a spawn much higher. Is that the longer the case?

    • @digitalwastrel
      @digitalwastrel  Год назад

      Glad you liked it!
      So, for spawn: Changing Gods, losing the game and losing rep can get you a max of -4 to the dark ritual roll. You're still fishing for a 2 or less (or a natural double 1), which doesnt seem great odds really. If you do get one, it's stats are all random and there's a chance it'll just leave after each game. So you may have some luck and get a spawn thats super useful, but it's not really something you can plan or strategize around imo. Other than to say "paint up a spawn just in case"

    I must have missed it but where is it written that Helot Wyches have access to the superior range of wyrd power? On Yaktribe when building a Wych you can only pick chaos helot powers :/

    • @digitalwastrel
      @digitalwastrel  Год назад +1

      It's certainly not explicitly stated.
      My thought process:
      1 - Book of the Outcast came out after most other books so you wouldn't find any reference to the newer powers in the specific gang rosters
      2 - Book of the Outcast says all psykers can use the new powers
      3 - A GW FAQ specifically calls out Delaque as needing to take their bespoke powers when they're hired, but not any other pysker
      That's my reasoning, as ever though it comes down to talking with your group.
      As for Yaktribe i think if you go to Settings and toggle off "Restrict Skills" you'll be able to add whatever you want to the roster

    • @senti5468
      @senti5468 Год назад

      @@digitalwastrel Yeah it's one of those things. The Arbitrator has to approve the use of Book of the Outcast. But if they do, the book clearly states all psykers have access to these powers.

    it's an absolute shame there are weapon options that noone will ever see because they are just comparatively bad.
