“8 gigabytes, even for the time, was kinda rough” You can say that again lol, I’ve been so used to getting 8gb and 16gb device throughout my life that the concept of anything above 64 still seems crazy to me
My cousin had an ipod touch 2g with 32GB and he filled up with games pretty easly, i had one with 8GB and its not an exception i can barely have games on it, but still, i saved all games on my pc i wanted to play one game again
I wasn’t. iPods for me were solely for music and I have a massive music library. The only thing that could hold it all was the classic. I used the classic through my teen years.
I still have an iPod touch 4 that my father gave to me a long time ago, it’s forever special to me and I’ll always keep it in my possession since it’s engraved and means a lot to me
I grew up with this thing and even if it’s not that practical, i still keep it plugged in and mess around with it sometimes. I’m so nostalgic for the iPod touch 4G and pretty much everything older. Everyone had these in 2010-2012 along with a DS or a DSi (3DS if you were a cool kid) 🥺 I think the iPod touch 4G, DSi, and the 3DS were most early gen z’s first camera. I remember I would stand in from of my TV in 2011 with my 3DS and record episodes of Spongebob, Phineas and Ferb, and Adventure Time. Lmao the things you remember about tour childhood 😂
Literally my childhood😭my cousin gave me his iPod around 8 years ago. My older brother also gave me his Nintendo DS, but it didn’t have a camera. He also gave me his GameBoy Advanced. We used to love watching Spongebob and Adventure Time together, and we watched Phineas and Ferb with our cousin. I don’t remember if my cousin gave me a 3rd gen iPod or a 4, but I didn’t know there was an App Store, so the only games I would play were Paper Toss and Ski Ball that he had downloaded😂man I miss those days🥺🥺
That iPod was my life line way back when. I used that thing literally to death( got the screen replaced after cracking it, then cracked it again years later, battery doesn't hold a charge, and the back camera lens is scratched to hell) but It was my introduction to Apple and touch screen smart devices and I still have it sitting in my drawer. Might try to fix it down the road one day.
I remember that my very first Apple touch screen smart device that I had and still have is the 2nd generation ipod touch that I remember buying new in early 2009. Still works great for listening to music, but can't really handle internet anymore. You can still find these for cheap on ebay and in good condition. They still great if you just want to listen to downloaded music and videos.
You could buy another one from eBay well not to say I have a iPod touch 4th generation before its my brothers one but I never heard IPod before apple has made alot of stuff Now the iPod has 2 black dots still works fine didn't bother to fix it and I will buy another one next time

I got mine in early 2011 running iOS 4.2.1 when I was 13, so nostalgic... The iPod Touch 4 was the poor-students-iPhone-4 at the time and very advanced, considering many people didn't have touch screens at all. I wish Apple would have kept the shiny look of iOS 4,5,6
This was my first apple device and the amount of happiness it gave me back in the day is irreplaceable. I still have it and i feel like its so much better just for music specially when going on morning walk and working out.
I used to have one of these a my first ever "phone" back when I was 6 years old. I remember scrolling through 4 playlist on iTunes that I had and just listening to the same tunes over and over again. What a nostalgia.

The iPod touch 4th Generation was my first IOS Device at the time. As I’m sure it was for everyone else as well. Watching this video screams nostalgia.
Bought one myself brand new (A black 32GB model) on eBay for $80 back in September of 2019. Been using it as a music player, and honestly it’s only purpose is to bring me nostalgia from the early 2010’s.
A family member had an iPod touch 4 years and years ago- and it stuck in my memory ever since. I now have my own one, which I use for music, jailbreaking and iMessage. I got it because I wanted an iOS 6 device
I wanted one back in 2010 when I was 12, but my parents wanted me to have a phone since my teenaged years were just around the corner. So I made a proposition, "how about a get an iPhone 4?" It worked! So that Christmas I got an iPhone 4. Those were the days.
Before I bought my Apple watch, I would use mine for running and listening to my jams and would leave my phone at the house. I loved mine to bits which is why I was so happy I could keep using it as a combo to my Android phone. Wrote a lot of poems and have my whole life pre 2012 in it. My music library is valuable to me so I am looking to get it back from Mexico one day since eI had left it for my mother to use. She now has an iPhone 11 and does not need it. I do not know why I shared my life in this comment lol.
@jett on smart fridge iPod 4th gen still plays RUclips through Safari in iOS6. I just downloaded the new Busta Rhymes album through the iTunes app. I support the veteran MCs.
Bought this iPod in 2012. Still have it works great as a music player in my work truck USB connection it just lives there now :-) being somebody who still continues to build on my iTunes library and by physical media it’s perfect for me.
This was my first Apple device, near the peak of iOS's Golden Age. The advertising was on point, and this was the first iPod for many of my friends. I remember those middle school days where all the kids were playing Call of Duty Black Ops Zombies multiplayer over Bluetooth during lunch break. Those were the days...
My first ever Apple product was an iPod Touch 4th Generation 8GB Black that shipped on iOS 4.3.5 but I kept updating it until its last update on iOS 6.1.6. I got it for my 10th birthday in August 2011 and regrettably threw it away in 2016. So many memories
I agree with everything you said. The 4 is definitely past it’s prime. But it has it’s uses. We live in a rural mountain are where cellular service is very spotty. Listening to streaming music can be frustrating. We put a bunch of music and audio books on our old 4s and can drive along all day listening to our heart’s content. 32 gigs is an awful lot music! And while the cameras are not good, I think that they are at least adequate for what I use them for. After losing two losing 7s to water damage while kayaking, I use an old 4. is not as traumatic or expensive.
I still have this phone crazy I said I’ll ever get a bigger phone now I’m on the xs max going to buy the 12 pro max even it come out. This still is one of the best looking phones to date.
This iPod Touch was basically my first iOS device and I did post a lot of photos on Instagram using the camera. Sad to see that this was the last iPod touch that basically a Wi-FI version of the latest iPhone. Since then the iPod touch was basically neglected. I still wish there is an iPod touch that has the latest chip and a decent camera. I know the market for the new iPod touch is getting slimmer but one can only hope.
how do you get apps of app store working?? once u press download it says not capable blablabla, i even jaillbreaked it but got lazy to find a fix for apps
I've always wanted an iPod since I saw one 14 years ago. But my first Apple device is an iPhone 6 bought in 2018. Now I'm rocking an iPhone SE 2020. In some way, I got an iPod on my phone haha. But now I don't save music files on my own, I just use Spotify. Technology changed so fast.
I’m one of those who have a big itunes library. I still use this, ipad1, iphone4, 4s. It’s perfect to use this with iOS5. Btw, i’m still in love with iOS5.
I still actually use the iPod touch 2 today that still runs iOS 4.2.1. I still use it for listening to music although it can't really handle much internet. The iPod touch 2 I remember originally buying it new in early 2009. You could soon make a video about using the iPod touch 2 from 2008 today in 2020.
i actually just bought an ipod touch (the newest model). i know its a little weird to say that since i also have an iphone xr, but the fact is, i use it strictly for media and no one can bother me on it. no spam calls, no texts from family asking those annoying questions, no social media (cause right now its too depressing even though its important). as soon as i opened it, i immediately turned off notifications and got rid of imessage, safari, anything not media related and use it just for movies, music and games. i know its weird, but i think its a bit of a stress reliever for me to not have to pick up my phone and get 100 messages and none of them asking about how im doing or if im enjoying my day. a bit of a ramble but maybe some others feel the same.
This was my childhood device. Wish I could see that beautiful cracked screen where the backlight was exposed again. Probably have a bunch of old photos I wanna see
I recently found “my” old iPod, my dad bought this for my mum when I was only two years old with my name engraved on the back of it. I bought the charger for it and surprise it works. Luckily there wasn’t a passcode, a bunch of old memories flashed before my eyes
My dad had a second gen iPod touch and i watched “TNT” by Captain Sparkles for the first time on it, discovering Minecraft. My sister and I got 4th gens for Christmas in 2011 and watching this video brought back so many memories.
Yeah, i’m just playing around with my sister-in-law‘s that is docked onto a speaker. It’s definitely a real trip to be using one today, nostalgic. Me and my brother got 32 GB ones for Christmas in 2010. I then immediately got my new gf(now wife) an 8gb model so we can FaceTime when apart. We were still using flip phones at the time. My brother was the first to get an iPhone 4 and 2011. Me a iPhone 5 in 2013. And wife a iPhone 6 Plus in 2014. Winnipeg is slow at adopting new tech.
I remember a rich classmate of mine back in middle school having this ipod. Omg I used to feel so sad about myself for not being able to afford one :*(
That was my first ever Apple product. Loved it back in 2010. Then I upgraded it to an iPad Air 2 in 2014 and finally I replaced my Air 2 for an iPhone SE 2022 few weeks ago. I'm using the SE like an iPod touch to be honest, I'm using an Android phone as my main phone. Each time, it was a generational leap in term of performance. I'm really happy about my slow schedule for upgrading my Apple devices.
After watching this I pulled out my old IPod Touch 4. To my amazement it can still run the web version of RUclips. It was also fun listening to all of my old music. I have starting ripping all of my old CDs and am going to use it as a music player, giving the battery in my SE2 a bit of a break.
My iPod Touch 4 is my "I don't want to bother with streaming" music player. I just have to remember to let Spotify connect often enough to maintain the offline files and all is well.
I got one of these for Christmas of 2010. It was my 1st personal touch screen IOS device. My mom had an iPhone 3GS. I would watch RUclips videos on it so much and listen to music. I plugged it into the computer and accidentally restored at and lost all my data. I wish I still had the pictures that were on it.
This was my daily driver back in 2012-2014 ish until I finally got an iPhone 4 and 6. Loved using this back then wish mine still worked but it wont charge anymore.
Still got an iPod 4th and still use it on the car sometimes. I still update it with music because I am the few that has their own music versus streaming. I still buy songs and add them to the iPod. Battery life is still decent. I could use it without it dieting quickly, but mostly I plug it into the usb in the car. When not using it, I have it off. It is not my main iPod device, it’s a back up. All it’s good for is music, I don’t use it for anything else
My mate always showed off his iPod 3G in 2010, I came back a year later with an iPod 4G. Greatest device I've ever used. So many good memories. Suck it Zack XD
My elementary school had a cart of iPod 4’s for classrooms to use. Do not ask why, I don’t even remember, probably because it was 4th grade and I’m in college now 😂. But thanks for the review, I’ve got one right now in fact that I use for practically basic uses.
I have an iPod 4 and an iPod 5. I use my iPod 4 for music and podcasts for my commute to work. And it has never given me problems. Never been an app guy, so I'm content with the iPod 4. iPod 5 for podcasting was more trouble than it is worth, but it is great for audiobooks.
Still works great as an iPod using Neutron music player. Excellent sound. Even with a rubber case it fits easily into a pocket and also works great with Bluetooth headphones. The build quality is first rate, especially when compared to the iPod 5. Mine has iOS 6.1.6 and I will down rev it to an earlier iOS 6 as it noticeably slowed down after 6.1.6 was installed. Great little music player.
I had one about 10 years ago and my dumbass gave it away to some girl and I’ve regret it ever since but I just ordered one rn and I can’t wait to relive that nostalgia.
I still use my ipod touch 2nd generation that I got 14ish years ago. The battery lasts for more than 2 weeks if you don't use it. Fkin amazing device. Let alone I dropped it 100 times and it's still works fine.
I still use mine daily. Mainly for reddit and youtube in bed as it fits perfectly into my hand. Unfortunately the youtube app doesn't work anymore so I have to use safari. The battery is actually pretty good and there is like zero standby drain. Using iOS 6.1.3 btw.
I got a used gamestop one for chrismas one year and that thing was my bread and butter. Well, not the orginal one, it had about 15 min of battery life so I ended up getting a replacement.

My music library is valuable to me so I am looking to get it back from Mexico one day since eI had left it for my mother to use. She now has an iPhone 11 and does not need it. I do not know why I shared my life in this comment lol.
watching this video from the ipod touch 4, and using it as a music player.
Officially the best looking iPod in the history of iPods. Truly remarkable device.
OMG the iPod touch 4 bring back such good memories, always so angry my friends had one but I could afford it
Remember all the colored replacement screens people had? Whatever happened to those.
A friend of mine had a lime green iPhone 4
BrycenTube Videos my friend had blue IPhone 4s 🤮
This was my first Apple device, near the peak of iOS's Golden Age. The advertising was on point, and this was the first iPod for many of my friends. I remember those middle school days where all the kids were playing Call of Duty Black Ops Zombies multiplayer over Bluetooth during lunch break. Those were the days...
The games we had back then the way apple felt in 2010 was special
I still have one of these. My son was using it until I gave him my old iPad 4
N O
First apple device I’ve ever had. I was around 9. It was so amazing, one of the best feelings I’ve ever had.
Damn, that os though
It used to be so smooth
That was my first IOS device, I actually still have my old iPod 4 after all of these years
I still have this phone crazy I said I’ll ever get a bigger phone now I’m on the xs max going to buy the 12 pro max even it come out.
I'm watching on an iPod 4! I still use it as a daily driver with an old version of textfree.
how do you get apps of app store working??
once u press download it says not capable blablabla, i even jaillbreaked it but got lazy to find a fix for apps
Regilio Bouma you have to download the app on a different device first, then it will let you download the latest compatible version
Technology changed so fast.
such an awesome first device for me. will always have fond memories of this beauty
I’m one of those who have a big itunes library. I still use this, ipad1, iphone4, 4s. It’s perfect to use this with iOS5. Btw, i’m still in love with iOS5.
I loved this thing to death, so much nostalgia
I used it for music, FaceTime, music, games and more. It's my favorite ipod touch EVER!
The iPod 4's camera was bad...
...
However, who remembers the iPad 2's camera? I have hundreds of unspeakable selfies. What was I thinking?
The iPad 2 had the same camera as the iPod touch 4th gen, they gave the iPad the iPhone 4 camera with the iPad 3
Yeah ipad's camera is not good. I will exchange my iPad 2 With iPhone 3gs and iPod Touch 4 and iPod Nano.
i actually just bought an ipod touch (the newest model). i know its a little weird to say that since i also have an iphone xr, but the fact is, i use it strictly for media and no one can bother me on it. no spam calls, no texts from family asking those annoying questions, no social media (cause right now its too depressing even though its important). as soon as i opened it, i immediately turned off notifications and got rid of imessage, safari, anything not media related and use it just for movies, music and games. i know its weird, but i think its a bit of a stress reliever for me to not have to pick up my phone and get 100 messages and none of them asking about how im doing or if im enjoying my day. a bit of a ramble but maybe some others feel the same.
This was my childhood device. Wish I could see that beautiful cracked screen where the backlight was exposed again.
Probably have a bunch of old photos I
wanna see
I recently found “my” old iPod, my dad bought this for my mum when I was only two years old with my name engraved on the back of it.
I still use my ipod 4th gen with spotify since it works fine in 2020
Yeah, i’m just playing around with my sister-in-law‘s that is docked onto a speaker.
Also, would you be able to do a video on the iPod 7 and ask the question? Is it worth buying in 2020? 😉
After watching this I pulled out my old IPod Touch 4. To my amazement it can still run the web version of RUclips. It was also fun listening to all of my old music. I have starting ripping all of my old CDs and am going to use it as a music player, giving the battery in my SE2 a bit of a break.
my first apple device, just found it today lying in the cupboard, charged it and omg it still works!
My iPod Touch 4 is my "I don't want to bother with streaming" music player. I just have to remember to let Spotify connect often enough to maintain the offline files and all is well.
I first got it when I was in 6th grade and in today's generation, it is still working!! OMG those were the times!!
GETTING THIS IN LIKE A WEEK SO EXCITED
Great Video 👍🏻
i want one. i absolutely love old technology. i wanna see if i can set its date back and download older versions of apps.
i got one when i first started college and was my first apple device, oh the nostalgia is killing me :,
I got one of these for Christmas of 2010.
I used to do EVERYTHING on my iPod touch 4. I just wish I took better care of it. The screen's smashed, but it still works.
This brings me back. First smart device I ever owned, plus feels like everyone had one back in middle school!
This is what I’m getting my little sister for Christmas 🎄
I remember getting my iPod Touch 4 in Christmas 2012. So much nostalgia and memories from that device.
I got my iPod touch 4 on Christmas 2011. I still have it in my desk drawer.
I wish they still sold these. They looked so good. Can’t get my hands on one.
I have 3 of them now! When I was younger I only had one, I played Minecraft lite on it and took many pictures of my dogs.
My first ever iPod touch and still have it
Me too
I had one about 10 years ago and my dumbass gave it away to some girl and I’ve regret it ever since but I just ordered one rn and I can’t wait to relive that nostalgia.
I still use my ipod touch 2nd generation that I got 14ish years ago. The battery lasts for more than 2 weeks if you don't use it. Fkin amazing device. Let alone I dropped it 100 times and it's still works fine.
I used this iPod back in 2016 it was in white and my old friend gave it to me and it is so Nostalgic my sister had this iPod for years
I still use mine daily.
Just got one this Christmas!!! Awesome...its even brand new
I just found mine. What a throw back! I used mine so much back in the day!
