Yeah, as much as the voice acting is hit and miss in those games, with some (Shulk) being absolutely mindblowing and some Rex) being... not that, the OST of every Xenoblade game is just fire.
BASED! We're really spoiled with fantastic music in this series. The music is so important to me since I love to listen to it long after I beat the game. Adding my favorite tracks to Playlist and listening to remixes.
Sorry, bro, I just ain’t feelin’ it this time around. I adore Xenoblade music and listen to it on a near daily basis (and by that I mean XC2 music mostly), but I dunno about the tracks we’ve gotten for 3 so far. They just feel like more typical songs than a life-changing experience. That may sound overexaggerant for just the title screen theme and battle theme, but no. I think the title themes are some of the best and most emotional themes in tha franchise. I could thoroughly dive into what they symbolize by just the emotions expressed through the instruments, and while I could do that kinda here with 3’s…it’s just not as impactful emotionally or rhythmically. Now, I know that there is a lot of pressure on the team to 1-up the music each time, which seems more and more impossible each game, yet they always manage to, so I don’t think it is a negative to the game. The OST was bound to hit a ceiling, and it did with Torna in my personal opinion. Now, these are only 3 tracks, so I’m definitely not getting the full picture to say that this is an indefinite truth, and I still cannot wait to hear this masterful OST. (Edit: After some time listening to the themes more, I have grown to really like Weight of Life. It is really good at expressing the theme of burden and struggle, and just sounds very good. I retract my statement. Also, the Title Screen theme dropped, and it is astounding. Much better than A Life Passed On….I’m still not a huge fan of the Keves Battle theme, though. The big flute section or whatever you would call it just fell flat for me. Not that flutes are an unwelcome addition in this game, I’m just not a fan of their execution, as it just sounds like mishmash rather than a memorable melody.)
I’m afraid I can only agree with you when it comes to Weight of Life. I think Keves Battle and A Life Sent On sound really good, especially when using the flutes. I think Weight of Life lacks the electric guitars to really make it as impactful as Counterattack and Engage the Enemy (it just sounds like this game’s version of those songs)

@@braydenleaderofthetirkins1143 I think just hearing the OSTs can't really get us to feel much if we don't see and hear the in-game cutscenes where they play.
Tbf I think a lot of the emotional connection you have to the music in the other games is because you've played them and gone through the stories and seen the music in tandem with those amazing moments. I'm pretty sure you'll feel the same about the music in this game in the future. The flute theme initially didn't grab me either but the more I listen to it and understand a bit more of its significance the more I've grown to love it
