I'm looking into becoming a trader , my problem is funds due to being a career for my wife, I've always been a petrol head the video was very helpful about insurance and trade plates
Happy new year to you too mate, as well as everyone else who reads this comment I wish you all the best of luck 🤞🏼 for 2024 and I hope you all reach the goals you set 🎉
Im 52 in April and part time sold cars from home all of my 20s and 30s in the days of golf mk 1s and 2s and 2,8i capris. This time im only going to do Honda Jazzs. Hardly ever go wrong, easy sellers, ulez compliant, cheap tax fuel and owned by the right kind of person. Only want about 3 cars in stock at any one time and only looking to shift about 5 a month.
And I will try and sell through all the free ads first. If I do pay for a advert at least with only selling the same model least I can add at the end 2 or 3 or 4 or whatever the case maybe also available. What do you think to my idea? Cheers
Can you go into more detail about trade insurance? What's it for? How much does it cost? Does it mean you can just drive any car you want and be insured on it?
It allows you to have multiple cars from your business on the policy and insured. You will have a value set on the level of cover etc The cost will vary with experience, age etc, so I can’t guide you too much however it is more than typical car insurance.
Hi i privately sold a few cars now but wanna set myself up as trader.. can give me list of things I have to do to set up.. etc hrmc, registering as a trader, insurance trade plates?? A vid on this would be amazing
Happy new year. What would you say is the best 3 small cars to sell. I’ve sold around 9 fiat 500s and done well out of them. I’m just wanting to explore another popular starter car. Any suggestions please.
can you start this from home as side hustle in addition to your current work? will trade insurance and plate ok for home address or getting premises or address first?
Im a limited company, how would buying and selling vans work if im not vat registered. Obviously i pay the VAT on buying it, but then id have to sell it with no VAT.
Do you have to put in every car that comes into stock into your insurance policy each and every time, or do you just hop in put the trade plates and set off ? Thanks
I know this question can very greatly but, What would you say is a decent mark up when you buy a car? Say I spent £1000 on the car should I expect 20% so to sell for £1200? And take a minimum of 15% if they what some money off, £1150. Or would you expect more. Cheers for the videos 👍🏼
It’s a tough one to answer and depends on many factors, overheads etc.. As I would have bigger margins but this is to cover higher costs.. But let’s say you’re selling at home, one car at a time, £500 profit on a £1000 purchase is a good earner.
@@BuySellCarsTV yes I want to spin one car a month on top of my 9 to 5 job, from my house. If i could make £800 that would be a god send of this moment in time. So now am thinking spend £2000 and maybe advertise it for £3000 if I can get £2500-£2800 that would be great. Am looking on Facebook at the minute but it’s a minefield of scams 😩
@@BuySellCarsTV do I need trade insurance if am only buying one car a month? Also how do I buy a car with out putting an extra owner one the V5? Sorry about all the questions! Cheers again 👍🏼

Honda jazz are great cars, just watch out for rust!
Found a lot holds up to 100 cars looking to take over soon.

You can get started quite easily, trade insurance is the main thing to get started.

Honda Jazz, Honda Jazz And Honda Jazz I'd Say.
Happy new year to you too! Fiesta, jazz, fiat 500 etc are all nice cars!
Great advice, do you have any good auctions?
Good is a dangerous word, but just be careful on any auction site! I use BCA.

Yes to both

you'd sell it with VAT too. Youd likely have to be VAT registered if your sales are more than 84k per anum

I add them to my policy but my trade plates are on that too.
