Please do pin! In the video you say for rows 6 to 52, repeat rows 1 and 2, and I think you mean 2 and 3. I'm a beginner, and although I thought that's what you meant, I don't have the confidence to *know* so had to ask a friend! Otherwise, lovely tutorial and I'm looking forward to getting to the end, eventually 😂
I was confused too about which rows to repeat and came on here to see if anyone has a solution. I'm glad I did, and judging by the finished work ( row 1 - 5) the sloping at one end, I think the repeat is row 2 and 3.

I love this! I’m making a ton of baby hats for a homeless shelter and your tutorial was so helpful! Super easy to follow and I memorized the pattern really quickly I love how you explained it. You do not deserve all the hate in the comments :/ who knew crochet artists of all people could be so rude 😳
I’m a beginner and loved this. I just pause and write the pattern down before I attempt it on my own. I love working in between the posts I find it goes so much faster! Thanks for sharing.
I'm not a beginner but I do this same thing. After 60 years of following written patterns I find it great to be able to write one down and also see someone making the item.
I thought this was for beginners!! I could hardly keep up before she was on the other side doing a new stitch. This is definitely not for someone just beginning to crochet. I barely made it to the back loop part and then I gave up. She's rushing through the whole process. Ok for people who already know what they're doing. I ripped out what I had already crocheted and looked for another tutorial. 😢
Wow that’s beautiful I’m definitely making a baby hat like this. I want to thank you Laura because I knew how to crochet very basic and I always wanted to make baby booties so I decided to look for videos on RUclips. I saw a couple of videos and they were a little intimidated until I saw your video and the rest is history. I finally made baby booties and learned a lot more. All of you ladies are amazing ❤😊
I wish there was a written tutorial as I can do the stitches but as my 1st time making this and then row 6 to the end says to repeat rows 1 & 2 and sorry but o can’t remember what the sequence is
Thank you so much for this fab tutorial just finished it in white for my new great great nephew who is due near the end of march, great easy to follow easy to watch video will look for more from you take care ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Thank you so much for your kind words I hope you check out some of my other baby crochet tutorials! I have scratch mittens, baby booties, sweaters, jogger pants, and even some crochet stuffies. Take care, and congratulations on your great great nephew!
Than you so much for this tutorial, I’m a beginner and the only thing I’ve done so far is a neck warmer and the tutorial was so easy to follow the only thing I had trouble with was keeping the rectangle straight while making the rows but overall it was a really good tutorial. I was using a bigger hook and thicker yarn so I did less rows and it turns out very cute 🥰 thank you 🙏
Just finished this and added a HUGE pom pom at the top! It turned out super cute! I ended up frogging the last 8 or so rows bc my circumference ended up being a lot bigger than 13in. Will make sure to plan ahead next time. Thank you for the tutorial :)!!
I really like this tutorial, and im glad youve got the rectangle measurement at the end! Ive got a different size yarn that i was still able to use by measuring and using a few less stitches 😊 this was pretty fun for me to make too ❤thank you so much!
Looks great, just started making one and it works up easily. As a personal note, i prefer to have the sc part at the top of my beanies, where there will be less fabric bunching because that part is smaller.
the hat itself was easy to make, however, the tutorial was unclear at time such as where to fold and line it up, how the tails are supposed to lineup, and exactly how long the tails need to be and why. I followed the tutorial start to finish and the hat came out HUGE compared to what it should be. i used a 3.5mm hook with caron super soft worsted weight yarn. 30st base, 52 rows, and this hat could fit a toddler or small child.
Mine got wider as I went along. For the life of me I can’t figure out why! She says to repeat rows 1 & 2, but in row one she says to turn work then sc in the SECOND stitch. But in rows 3 and 4, she does a sc in the FIRST stitch after turning the work. Very confusing and frustrating. 🤦🏻♀️
This is a great, simple patterns to both use up scraps and to make for donating to shelters, hospital NICU wards, or any spot that gives out warm goods to those who need some.
made this for my cousin who’s pregnant with her first baby. i’ve only been crocheting a few months so i was a little worried i would struggle with the ribbing, but you explained everything perfectly, and as someone with a horrible attention span your pacing was amazing. thinking about trying out your 0-3 month pullover with the matching yarn :)
I had the same question, she needed to add another 10 seconds of clarity there, what I think she meant to say is just continue on what you did for rows 4 & 5, this should keep the consistent pattern all the way up.
I appreciate all the feedback on here but I’m still so confused-I understand it’s a 2-3 row repeat but do I hdc in the hole or in the stitch??? I think I’ll just give up and frog it all.
Are you still doing 30 stitches all the way across the 52 rows? Do you have a size chart with how many stitches and rows to add for other sizes? If so where can I find them?
Row1 Sc 5 hd across until u have 5 sc , ch 1 turn Row 2 5 sc in next 5 sc, next st hdc until last 5 sc sc in end st. , ch1 turn Repeat the 2 rows until u have 52 rows. Is this correct? Wish she could have just added 10 more seconds of clarity there.
For row number four i cant tell if your half- double crocheting into the normal stitch or into the big hole again. You just say stitch but all the other rows you did the big hole so im confused
I dont understand where she says to hdc into every stitch normally, i it was row 4, but then row 6 to 52 is a repeat of row 1 & 2, with all hdc into the 'big gap', confused that there is only 1 row of hdc stitched this way?

At end of row 3 there’s no big space. Where do you put the heck for that last stitch?
