Could you tell me how many rows for the crown and how to increase to get to part of making the length? That would be so great and helpful. I'm a beginner. Thank you ever so much

    • @crochetdreamz

I am sorry, I haven't found the time to test the bigger sizes. You will have to add more rounds with increases to the crown until it measures 7"in diameter. Then you can work even until the hat is 8-1/2 inches in height.

I was panicking because my friend is about to have her first baby and I really really wanted to make her something but I had tried some kits and beginner instructions online and it went terribly every time. However, other than using a much thicker yarn and ending up with a slightly comically large hat (I’m going to make another and give her both), I sat down and made an entire hat the day before I saw her. Thank you so much, this was so simple and clear to follow and now I’m so excited to try other crocheting projects.
My only question is how do you stop the yarn unwinding itself from the trimmed parts when it’s fluffy yarn?

Can you use any size yarn to make this hat or does it have to be the chunky yarn? I want to make a few for my baby who is due soon and some for friends but wanted to make them with thinner yarn that I already have. Please let me know. Thank you so much for all your great videos they have been a big help! 😁

You can use a thinner yarn but you will have to do more increase rounds to get the same circumference.
